Chapter 209 - Chapter 209: Pocket Space

Huh?

Wait a minute.

Morgan Le Fay... That woman has always had a connection to Doctor Doom. Even in earlier stories, her name is often mentioned alongside Victor von Doom, full of intrigue and dark magic. If Morgan Le Fay exists in this universe... then—doesn't that mean Doom exists here too?

And if Doctor Doom is certain to appear, then his arch-enemies, the Fantastic Four, won't be far behind. Sooner or later, they'll show up—whether with theatrical flair or cosmic destruction.

Two Maxies, double the fun?

By the way, Reed Richards—that genius contortionist—once thought the Hulk was too dangerous for Earth. So while the Hulk was busy saving the world from space monsters, Reed teamed up with the Illuminati—a brilliant, but overconfident bunch—and tricked the Hulk into a spaceship, launching him into the depths of the cosmos without explanation. A foolish act that ultimately triggered one major event: World War Hulk.

But to Lance, the Illuminati were far more dangerous than the Hulk. They were too convinced of their own morality—too fond of playing god.

Especially Reed Richards!

Lance narrowed his eyes slightly. If the Fantastic Four really did show up, might Lance be tempted to… secretly make Reed Richards a little more foolish than usual?

Lance shrugged, letting his idle thoughts settle. Lance asked again, his voice this time casual and probing: "So, it's not Morgan Le Fay who wants the Wand of Xyggondo, but you?"

Lance's tone was slightly mocking.

With her identity and reputation, Morgan Le Fay shouldn't be interested in such mystical toys.

Could… Morgan Le Fay and Rasputin be having an affair?

Unfortunately—Lance's cheap gossip guess was completely wrong.

The magma giant—the last remaining creature—shouted passionately like a cult follower who had just seen a heavenly sign: "We're not interested in the wand! We're only looking for the Norn Stone! It's said that Grigory Efimovich Rasputin once had contact with the Norn Stone. We plan to search for clues about the Norn Stone through his final relic!"

Lance raised an eyebrow. "Norn Stone?"

The name made the air feel heavier. Norn Stone—an ancient stone created by Karnilla, the mother of witches from the Asgardian realm. A legendary artifact containing immense power, capable of resurrecting the dead and manipulating fate.

If Rasputin had ever touched such power… Then it was no wonder he could engrave his name into history like a cursed nail in a kingdom's coffin.

Unfortunately, the original Wand of Xyggondo had been destroyed. All that remained was a hollow projection—a shadowy illusion of a vanished object. It was unknown whether it still had any magical function, or was merely a replica.

Lance sighed softly, a hint of regret etched across his face. Where Lance destroyed the last magma giant with a single, ground-shaking blow, sending its massive body exploding into hot fragments and embers.

With that, Lance began to explore the pocket space, flying lightly as he circled through the pale sky.

This pocket space was vast—larger than the one where the House of the Infernal Glories stood. At its center lay a massive floating island, comparable in size to Hong Kong Island, stretching out into a boundless, magical horizon. The island's surface was mountainous and hilly, covered with strange trees and mists that hovered low like lost souls. The air was humid, warm, and thick with the scent of wet earth and ancient magic.

There was something about this island that made it feel like Asgard. Whether it was its majestic and mysterious atmosphere, or whether it had been so meticulously modified by Morgan Le Fay to resemble the home of the gods, it was a place of utter desolation.

But now… this island belonged to Lance.

With light steps, Lance landed on one of the black rock peaks and looked around. Lance grinned slightly.

Time to clear out the few remaining creatures wandering around and build a massive magical fortress—perhaps a bit like Asgard's Golden Palace, with Lance's own personal touch, of course.

Also, Lance needs to reset the portal locks in the manor. This will allow Maxie and the gang to enter and exit this space at will. And who knows… one day, this place might become a secret base that no one but Lance can access.

Lance was furiously planning his plans, his mind spinning like the gears of a freshly oiled war machine. He walked over to a tree with crimson fruit, its bark cracked as if it were burning from within. He plucked one of the low-hanging fruits, examined it briefly, and then brought it to his mouth. Instead of taking a bite, Lance just took a small whiff.

Lance's nose immediately wrinkled. "Uh, it smells like… rotten sulfur mixed with stale pineapple juice."

With a look of obvious disgust, Lance tossed the fruit aside without hesitation, causing it to explode as it hit the ground, leaving a thin trail of smoke and a sizzling sound like embers falling into water.

Lance sighed softly, then muttered, "I need a naturalist… a real one."

Yes, Lance knew he would have to recruit some skilled biologists or naturalists to cultivate edible plant and animal species—ones that wouldn't at least scald your tongue or explode your throat. They would have to adapt these plants to the island's… inhospitable environment.

Because one thing was certain: the native plants and animals here were unfriendly to anyone—especially mere humans.

Every form of life on this island seemed to have evolved to please the magma giants. From flowers with petals like burning embers, to mice with smoking fur, to ants whose bites left scorch marks. Even the tiny mosquitoes that flew around had wings like hot steel blades. The smell of this environment was thick with chemicals—sharp, burning, and pungent like metallic fumes.

Any contact with the fragile human skin could cause the outer layer of the body to peel away like burning paper. And if anyone were foolish enough to eat something from this place, their body would explode into the sky like a firework.

Lance stroked his chin, his eyes narrowing slightly as he silently thought.
