Sienna-Rose stares at the enormous halved body of Silurith lying on the land right outside the village after Ivan brings it. Her expression slowly changed from curiosity to genuine interest.
The creature looks terrifying even in death, its long body covered in dark, dense scales, but now that the danger is gone, she can finally examine it properly. Its flesh is surprisingly pale beneath the rough exterior, almost white with a faint translucence that catches the light, and the texture reminds her of a combination of catfish and unagi.
The strange thing is that it doesn't carry the sharp, briny smell she expects from a sea creature. Instead, there's a mild earthy scent, almost like a freshwater fish, although underneath it she can detect something deeper and richer that tells her this creature has spent its entire life swimming through magical currents far below the ordinary fishing grounds.
