After the last of the villagers has been given food and the immediate filth around the settlement has been cleared, Sienna-Rose doesn't return to the Nomad. There's still something about Elyssar that bothers her, something she can't explain simply by looking at the broken houses and neglected roads.
The village has suffered for years, yet the problems seem too numerous to be ordinary. The water is contaminated, the crops refuse to grow properly, the soil behaves strangely, and even the sea has become dangerous.
For a place that has been ignored for so long, Elyssar has an unusual amount of activity hidden beneath its surface. The more Sienna-Rose looks around, the more she suspects that the village's poor condition is only the result of years of neglect, while something far more valuable has been waiting beneath the land.
