Chapter 446 - Convergence of Lightning and Jade

Below, silence. The fox didn't move, attack, or speak. Then, slowly, she smiled—wider than before. "…Oh… You're stealing my things now?"

Her voice wasn't angry. Not even annoyed. If anything, it sounded… pleased.

Her eyes lifted again, bright, sharp, alive. "…Good."

Her stance lowered. Lightning crawled along her body once more—but tighter, more controlled. "…That means I don't have to hold back anymore."

The air shifted. Not violently, but noticeably.

Above, the ape's smirk faded slightly. *Something changed.*

Below, the fox tilted her head. "…Try not to lose them. I'll be taking them back very soon."

The air didn't just tighten—it **shifted.** Subtle, but undeniable.

The fox's paw dipped into her storage—and came back armed. A sword. A spear. A serrated saber, its edge jagged and alive with **blood-red runes** pulsing like a heartbeat.

The moment it cleared—**BOOM!** Violent qi exploded outward. Not refined. Not gentle. **Predatory.**

The ground cracked—not from weight, but pressure. Marsh water recoiled as if refusing the energy.

Above, the ape's pupils shrank. *Three weapons? All earth-grade… no—the saber… danger.* Grip tightened around the staff.

Below, the fox didn't wait. She moved—not in one direction, but three.

The sword shot first—a flash of silver, clean and precise, cutting upward in a straight killing line.

The spear followed—not straight. Circling wide before snapping inward, aiming for his flank.

The saber remained beside her paw. Her body blurred, lightning erupting beneath her feet. She launched upward again, faster than before, closing in behind her own weapons. A layered attack. No gaps. No escape.

Above, the ape reacted instantly. No hesitation. Jade disc flared. Barrier forming again. **CLANG!** The sword struck first—ripples exploded. Then **BOOM!** The spear hit, splitting its focus. The shell trembled—not breaking, but **straining.**

The ape's jaw clenched. *Too much pressure.*

It moved. Sword beneath its feet tilted sharply, dropping just enough. The spear scraped past, missing lethal by inches.

The staff spun—and struck upward. **WHAM!** It collided with the incoming sword—the pulse flaring—but this time, it didn't vanish.

The fox had already adapted. Her connection tightened, refusing the pull. Behind, above—she was already there, inside the opening. Lightning trailing behind her like a comet—the saber came down. **SHRIIIIK!** The blade screamed through the air, blood-red runes igniting.

The moment it touched the barrier—**CRACK!** Small, but real. The ape's eyes widened. *It—cut it?* The barrier split slightly—but enough.

The fox's eyes gleamed. "…Found it." She twisted mid-air, dragging the saber across the surface—not to break completely, but to **widen** the flaw.

At the same time, her other paw moved. The sword, knocked off course, snapped back behind the ape, reversing direction. The spear followed, striking from the opposite side. A three-direction attack.

Above, the ape's mind raced. *Front compromised. Rear attack. Side pressure. No time. No space.*

It made a decision. Hand slammed the jade disc—hard. **BOOOOM!** The barrier exploded outward—not breaking, but expanding. A shockwave blasted in all directions, forcing everything back—the sword, the spear, even the fox—pushed away. Distance created. Breathing room.

The ape didn't waste it. It shot backward, sword underfoot accelerating, staff spinning, disc dimming slightly from overuse. Chest rose once—controlled, focused.

Below, the fox landed lightly, sliding half a step, then stopping. Weapons hovered behind her again—unclaimed, unbroken. Eyes lifted slowly, locked on him. That smile still there—but sharper. "…You're adapting. Good."

Lightning crawled tighter along her body—denser, more dangerous. Her control on the saber shifted subtly, intentionally. "…But you're running out of tools."

Above, the ape said nothing, but its grip tightened. It knew—the barrier had taken damage. The staff didn't fully work anymore. And she—was getting faster.

Below, the fox leaned forward slightly. Energy coiling again. "…Let's see how long you last."

And then—she vanished. Again.

The moment she vanished, the ape reacted.

No hesitation. No delay.

Its hand dove into its storage pouch and came out holding a talisman. Small. Shaped like a **tiny figure.** Its surface was etched with dense, compact runes—old, layered, expensive.

The ape didn't even look at it. It already knew.

Energy poured in—fast, direct.

The talisman ignited.

**PWOOM.**

A surge of light burst outward, and something stepped out of it.

Not illusion. Not projection. **Manifestation.**

An armored warrior—fully formed.

Metal plates layered over a solid frame, runes glowing faintly beneath the surface. Its presence stabilized instantly.

**Fourth Layer.**

No hesitation. The moment it appeared, it moved.

A step forward.

Then—it attacked.

Its arm snapped forward, a blade forming along its gauntlet, swinging in a clean, brutal arc—right where the fox had reappeared.

But she was already there. Her body twisted, lightning guiding the motion. The strike passed—missing her by a breath.

Her eyes flicked over it once. Measured. Analyzed. Then she smiled.

"…You really do have nice things."

No sarcasm. Just appreciation.

The warrior didn't stop. It pivoted instantly. Second strike—faster, heavier. No wasted motion. A construct built for one thing: **combat.**

The fox didn't retreat. Didn't create distance. Instead, she stepped **in.** Her saber rose.

**CLANG!**

Steel met energy. The impact rang sharply, but she didn't push, didn't overpower. She flowed. The blade slid along the construct's arm, redirecting, letting the force pass her.

Then her paw snapped forward. The spear behind her responded instantly, shooting in—aimed straight for the warrior's core.

But the construct reacted. Its body shifted unnaturally—not bound by instinct, not bound by hesitation. It turned just enough. The spear scraped across its armor, sparks flying—but no penetration.

Above, the ape watched closely. Breathing steady. Mind calculating.

*Good. Let it handle her. Buy time. Create openings.*

Below, the fox's eyes sharpened slightly. *Durable. Fast. No fear.* Her tail flicked once. "…Annoying."

The warrior struck again—relentless. A flurry now, blow after blow, each precise, each aimed to kill.

The fox moved through it—not blocking everything, not dodging everything, but choosing. Letting some pass. Deflecting others. Reading it. Learning it.

Then her movement changed. Subtle, but immediate. She stopped reacting and started **leading.**

The next strike came. She stepped inside it. Too close. The warrior adjusted—but a fraction too slow. Her saber flashed.

**SHRIIK!**
