Chapter 18 - Assignment (4)

Slowly opening her eyes, Dahlia looked at the man sitting on the bed.

He looked at her. However, the next words he said caused her heart to skip a beat, "You don't have to worry, I've sealed your bloodline, so no artifact will detect you,"

"Yo-you know about my bloodline?"

He nodded, "but it also seems you've started to regain your memories,"

Dahlia nodded, "I remember some of them; however, some are still blurry,"

That wasn't a total lie; while she did have almost all of her memories, along with the knowledge that was given thanks to an artifact, she didn't remember everything. However, she didn't want to share anything with this man just yet.

And considering it was a half-truth, if he had a lie detection skill, he would probably think she was telling the truth.

"Alright then," he said simply, "Considering you were cursed before, I'll explain everything to you, you are now my personal maid, you belong to me and no one else, forget that other bastard because he is no longer your master, do you understand?"

"Yes, young master," she bowed while she started to think

Her goal was to gather allies and gain strength.

Most of her skills are fine, her most powerful skill was useless because of the current family situation. Then again she didn't have any training that would allow her to gain any skills.

In order to gain strength, she had to go to dungeons; however, she didn't know where to find any dungeons or even how to gain more skills or levels.

'Wait'

She then remembered something.

Her family knew about many hidden ruins where she could get artifacts to increase her strength. However, it still wouldn't do much, not with the current state of the family.

'I need to get stronger…can I really do that?'

However, a sudden realization dawned on her.

'Wait, he knows about my family, would he try and sell me?'

As she thought about it, she realized that it wouldn't make any sense. After all, he seemed to have resealed her bloodline.

'Then is he after the treasures and artifacts?'

That wouldn't surprise her, but how did he exactly know this? She was with Quentin for almost his entire life and was even in his classes. While they had talked about her family, it was said they were wiped out along with their descendants.

'Is it his skill?'

From what she could observe, this young master seemed to achieve a good result.

If he was able to figure out that she was from the Leroche family, why did he seal her bloodline again?

'Is he trying to find some artifacts from my family?'

However, she quickly got rid of that thought. There is no way that he knew the Lerouche family still had bases with artifacts. Not even the O7 council was aware of that.

"What are you doing? Hurry up!"

Snapping out of her thoughts, she looked at Aaron, who was standing by the door with an annoyed expression.

"Y-yes,"

Exiting the room, I grabbed the golden token from my pocket.

This token had a bunch of functions due to its being reserved for elite members only. The only way to edit the functions would be to have a class that specializes in runes or making artifact creation.

"Hm, let's see what I can do later,"

Flipping the token between my fingers, I put it in my pocket before I headed toward the head of the entrance of the house. There was a car parked with a servant standing along with Alura.

Looking at her anxious face, I internally sighed; however, I didn't comfort her.

Alura opened the door, and I let Dahlia through before I sat inside.

As soon as Alura sat in the car and closed the door, the car started to move. Waiting for a couple of minutes, I watched the passing forest before it cleared to reveal a giant runway. As the car passed the many planes, I saw many youths boarding them.

However, I then passed by a plane and brought back memories.

After my mediocre results at the ceremony, I was given a task that was usually given to high-ranking servants, which my father thought of after my results. I still remember the look of shame and embarrassment on his face. Something I vowed not to do in this life.

However, during the plane ride, I wanted taunted and bullied which was probably due to one of the heirs.

A few minutes later, we stopped beside a medium-sized private jet.

Exiting the car, I looked at the jet and the man dressed as a pilot in front of the entrance of the jet.

"Young master Aaron, it's a pleasure to-"

"Hurry up and get on the plane," I said in an annoyed tone before I walked past the pilot and onto the jet. Taking a seat on one of the comfortable chairs, I let out a breath.

Truth be told, I had been stressed the entire time during the ceremony. One wrong move and poof, there goes my soul.

However, now that, was out of the way, I was thrown into family politics, something I didn't want at the moment.

The family destruction would happen a few years after the great cataclysm, but I wasn't entirely sure when due to a certain event. But that wasn't from all of the spies or anything that were currently in the family, but due to one of the heirs pissing off a rising hero.

That heir belonged to a powerful elder, who caused him to send multiple assassins to kill him, but ultimately failed. As a result, the hero killed the elder in annoyance. However, that elder held an important position as a result of being the patriarch at the time, ordering him to be killed, which, as a result, led the hero to wipe out the entire Van Bismark family.

I only found this out looking at the family records as well as from that "bastard's" mouth.

Remembering him made me clench the seat.

'Just wait, you fucker! I am going to make sure to have the most painful death you can ever imagine'

Letting out my breath, I decided to go over my plan.

The spies themselves would be dealt with sooner or later.

After all, I was the collateral damage.

In the meantime, I need to do a few things.

First was gathering allies.

Second, start a business under the family's nose.

Third, create an Organization full of spies and other powerful people that would work for me.

Fourth, obtain power that could rival the gods of this world.

Funnily enough, the last 2 were the easiest ones for me to do. However, I needed to be patient and wait for my opportunity to strike.

Only then could I take what rightfully belonged to me.

Looking at the briefcase I opened it revealing the same documents as last time. Opening one of the files I looked at my task.

Seeing it caused me to smirk.

However, I then raised my brow as I read where I was going to live.

[Blackridge Estate, 4126 Old Pine Hollow Road, Ravensbrook, Maine 04401]

'Huh why does this sound familiar'

It wasn't until I remembered a certain event in my past life that caused me to let out a voice of surprise.

"Ah, this place"
