They hit the ground hard.
Jin landed on his shoulder and rolled, and grass came up under his hands, thick and cold and wet with dew. Around him he heard the others coming down. Mina hit with a crack like a dropped boulder. Someone grunted. Yuna landed on her feet, laughing under her breath. Byung-ho came down flat on his back and lay there staring up.
Jin was on one knee with the Muramasa swords half drawn before he had even looked around, but nothing came at them.
He stayed down for a long moment, listening, both hands on the hilts. Beside him, Echo had gone completely still, head tilted, his discs drifting in a slow ring around the group. Kyung-min had his eyes squeezed shut, the way he did when he was trying to see what was coming.
"Anything?" Jin asked.
"No," Echo said slowly. "Wind. Water somewhere. Birds." He frowned. "Nothing else."
"Kyung-min?"
Kyung-min opened his eyes. "Nothing," he said. "I don't see anything coming at all."
