On August 9th, 1734 of the Common Human Calendar, the mana-powered airship carrying Imperial Regent Astrid Calliste arrived in the skies above the suburbs of Capital City.
"My lady, the airship will land at the newly constructed Royal Air Harbor outside the city in about an hour. You may wish to begin preparing to disembark."
The head maid's voice drifted through the closed door into the bedroom. Wearing nothing but a pristine white spaghetti-strap nightdress, Astrid reclined lazily against the bed, her gaze resting on the sunlight streaming across the carpet and illuminating a pair of silver stilettos scattered carelessly nearby.
Both mistresses of the room were naturally meticulous about cleanliness. Such unusual disarray could only have resulted from a melodious nocturne reaching its crescendo, leaving them far too engrossed in the moment to spare a thought for anything else.
"Hmm, I understand."
