Chapter 342 - Chapter 339 ~ New Jutsu – Diamond Release

Evening shadows stretched across the Hamura compound as the training ground came alive with movement. In one corner, Yasashii practised his [Earth-Sensing Jutsu], eyes closed, earth-natured chakra flowing into the ground beneath his feet. Vibrations returned information—footsteps, shifts in weight, and the subtle tremor of movement.

Nearby, a trembling water sphere hovered above Jiyuu's palms, his focus absolute. Souji's improved form was evident as he jogged the perimeter, each stride more confident than months ago. Rina trained with her prosthetic legs, balance steady, progress visible in every careful step.

Shiroi trained nearby in the far corner, lightning affinity training and physical conditioning keeping him occupied.

Kohinata and Toshiro arrived with Ryu for their scheduled training session, with Kaori trailing slightly behind.

Ryu stopped in the middle of the grounds and raised his hand. He made a sharp, clear sound with a single snap of his fingers.

Several hummingbirds, in crackling bursts of electricity, with various patterns of red and white, appeared hearing Ryu call them, their wings blurring as they circled overhead.

Ryu said, "Gather everyone."

The birds disappeared with a spark and reappeared near everyone to signal Ryu's call.

Within minutes, everyone began assembling. Akihiro arrived first; Kaia followed. The others converged on the central training area—Yasashii, Jiyuu, Souji, Rina and Shiroi.

"Good," Ryu said once everyone had positioned themselves. "We're starting something new today."

He reached into his storage seal and withdrew several tags—Training Anchor Seals. Ryu had given one to Akihiro before.

"These are Training Anchor Seals," Ryu explained, holding one up. "They'll assist with a new chakra control training we're about to begin. I'll explain more as we go."

He handed them out systematically—one to Akihiro, one to Kaia, and one to Jiyuu.

"Don't activate them yet," Ryu instructed. "Wait until you're in position and I have explained things."

Ryu then handed over some more training seals, including the one Kiyomizu gave him that helps at the initial stage of the training. The seal which Ryu ultimately modified into the Anchor Seal.

Ryu stepped back, surveying the training ground. He formed a single-handed seal, and the earth beneath their feet rumbled.

[Earth Release – Earth Core Shift]

The ground responded to his will. Three triangular platforms rose smoothly from the earth, each one formed with clean edges marking the triangle's sides. At the centre of each platform, a pillar extended upwards—waist-height, flat-topped, and ready to hold the seal's focal point.

Kohinata smiled and thought, "Earth manipulation with a single-handed seal. The boy's control rivals seasoned jonin."

Toshiro stared at the formations, thinking the same. Ryu then explained the basics of the Yin-yang Control Method. How it is more advanced and better than the traditional method. And how it is bound to be taught by the seal given to them.

"This is Hamura's chakra control training method," Ryu said casually. "I built this method after a lot of hard work."

A half-truth. The original method came from Hamura Otsutsuki himself, knowledge Ryu had acquired through his connection to the moon's descendants. But the seal adaptation—the triangular formation for group training—that innovation was his own. He'd further converted a single-person intensive method into simultaneous squad training. The full history, however, remained something he couldn't explain. Not yet. Perhaps never.

"Akihiro, Kohinata-san, Toshiro. You will be paired together in the first group," Ryu said, gesturing to the nearest platform. "Take your positions at each corner of the triangle."

The three moved into place, standing at the triangle's vertices.

Ryu extended his hand, and a dark golden sphere materialised above the central pillar—burning like a miniature sun. The Yin chakra construct floated stationary, suspended at the triangle's centre.

"Place your [Yin Anchor Seal] on the pillar and [Yang Training Seal] onto yourself," Ryu instructed. "Then activate them with the Bird hand seal."

Akihiro, Kohinata, and Toshiro each pressed their seals onto themselves and the Anchor seal on the pillar's surface. As they formed the seal, the tags flared with light, and the central Yin sphere pulsed in response.

Kohinata studied the setup with a veteran's eye. "Adapting a single-person seal into a triangular formation for three simultaneous users—smart. And the formation itself would reveal which trainee's Yang output is weaker or stronger based on how the sphere shifts."

"Each of you will channel Yang chakra towards the central Yin sphere," Ryu said. "The formation distributes the training load, allowing you to train simultaneously without interference."

He turned to Akihiro. "You have an additional task. The others can see the sphere's position. You must sense it—track its location through Yin-chakra perception alone while maintaining your Yang output."

Akihiro nodded, a small smile crossing his face. He knows Ryu is being extra hard on him for his sake. However, Ryu has trained Akihiro ahead of others to ensure he doesn't fall behind.

Toshiro positioned himself carefully, grin flashing.

Kaia stepped forward. "I want to train with Akihiro."

"More than three decreases efficiency," Ryu said. "The triangular formation is optimised for three focal points. Adding more would dilute the feedback… Kaia, you're with Rina and Ms Secretary. Your triangle is there."

"What?!" Rina's voice overlapped with Kaia's sharp protest. Both objected simultaneously.

They clearly had a rivalry and did not want to pair together, but since Ryu had paired them, they did not complain further.

Kaia and Rina exchanged glances—mutual annoyance flashing first, then grudging acknowledgement. Kaori also nodded and positioned herself.

"Jiyuu, Yasashii, and Souji—you are the third group. Take the last platform."

Yasashii and Jiyuu had trained basic chakra control, already mastered under Dan's guidance. Souji, a former Genin with solid fundamentals despite his condition, had been practicing chakra control through BodyGPT rehabilitation—his control returned faster than expected. All three were ready for advanced Yang Chakra control training now.

The three positioned themselves without protest, each standing at a vertex of the final triangle.

Ryu looked at Shirohi and said, "You will be alone for now. But I will ask Grandpa to join you later."

Ryu gave him the seals as he thought, "Grandpa is retired but he also needs to be ready before war begins and that Madara wannabe makes his first move."

Shiroi nodded, took the seal, and walked back to his place for his individual independent training.

"So who am I paired with?!"

All heads turned. Naruto stood among them, practically vibrating with excitement, a grin splitting his face.

Ryu turned, one eyebrow raised. "You're early."

"Scary Grandpa let me in!" Naruto announced proudly. "I ran the whole way! So who's my partner?"

"This chakra control method will be taught to you later," Ryu said. "You're learning the basics first… Give me twenty laps around the training ground."

Naruto protested, "What?! That's not fair! I want to learn the cool stuff!"

Ryu replied, "I'm ordering food from Ichiraku after training. You need to finish faster if you want to enjoy tasty ramen."

"But—"

"It will be extra tasty with extra toppings—all king-size bowls," Ryu emphasised.

Naruto opened his mouth to argue again, then closed it after drooling a little and said, "It's still not fair; I want to train like everyone else."

Ryu sighed. He snapped his fingers—a crisp sound cutting through the air.

A few hummingbirds appeared in crackling bursts of electricity. They hovered before Naruto.

"Whoa!"

"If you stay in the same spot for more than one minute," Ryu said, snapping his fingers again, "one of them shocks you."

"That's not fair!"

"Training is always hard and boring. You cannot avoid it just because it's difficult. Hard work is always rewarded. They have already completed their physical conditioning… it's now your turn."

He pointed at the perimeter. "Twenty laps…I suggest you do not stop moving."

Naruto's protests died. His expression shifted—determination replacing complaint. "Fine! I'll do it! Believe it!"

He took off at full sprint, the birds darting after him.

With everyone assigned and training underway, Ryu turned towards his workshop. The others would train for the next hour—plenty of time to test something he'd been theorising about for weeks.

"I think I should try it now," Ryu thought as he entered the workshop. "The company faces financial trouble in three months without new revenue streams."

The main workshop—soon to house the bio-genetics lab once Orochimaru's equipment arrived—was big enough for more equipment.

Ryu cleared his workbench and extended his hand.

"Carbon Control," Ryu muttered.

Carbon particles began to gather—drawn from air, from his exhaled breath, and from trace elements in the workshop. A small, pebble-like cluster of material materialised in the space between his palms, floating. Ryu concentrated, shaping it into a sphere through sheer will and chakra manipulation.

The carbon sphere hovered, rotating slowly, its surface dark and rough—a graphite-like structure at the molecular level.

But graphite wasn't the goal.

Yin chakra flowed from his left palm, wrapping around the carbon sphere like an invisible membrane. The sphere began to glow faintly—dark golden light bleeding through.

Yang chakra followed from his right palm, forming an outer shell. The two chakra types nested together, one compressing the other inward, at the same time providing structural integrity and intense pressure.

Ryu pulsed a high-density chakra impulse through the construct in the same way that [Senju-Style Taijutsu] works, but in conjunction with the Chakra Construct of the Yin-Yang Method. The carbon sphere compressed violently, shrinking slowly.

Ryu visualised tetrahedral molecular bonds; each carbon atom followed his will and bonded to four neighbours in precise geometric formation. The pressure followed that pattern, guiding atoms into lattice formation.

The molecular structure shifted under intense, directed pressure. Density increased exponentially. It wasn't visible to normal eyes, but with his exceptional senses—electromagnetic vision, enhanced perception, parallel processing—Ryu felt every atom clicking into place.

Sweat beaded on his forehead. This level of precision pushed his Yin-Yang control to its absolute limits. Weeks of practice with Yin-Yang manipulation, months of carbon control training in the workshop, and the Senju Chakra Control Method—it had all led to this moment.

Graphite's layered sheets collapsed. Tetrahedral bonds formed. The lattice locked.

The Yin-Yang construct dissolved slowly. The sphere no longer needed external pressure—the carbon was now transformed, structure-wise.

A diamond floated in the air between his palms.

Half a centimetre across. Flawless. The light from the lamp caught it and scattered it into rainbows across the workshop walls. Ryu had forced it to shape into a polished stone ready to be put inside a ring.

Ryu exhaled slowly, a satisfied smile crossing his face on his first successful attempt at [Diamond Release].

"What is that?"

Ryu turned. Dan stood at the threshold, having come to discuss dinner arrangements—a regular evening routine when everyone trained late. But he'd stopped in the doorway, words dying on his lips.

"Is that a diamond?" Dan asked.
