Mabel Quinn glanced at the phone's location, noticing Kyle Kinston's current position was rapidly moving, implying he must be in a car.
She decided to give him a call. It wasn't long before he picked up, but his voice sounded different than usual.
"Sorry, I left earlier. I need to return to Falling City for a bit. Are you finished there? I'll have someone pick you up," he said.
"No need, I'll return to the residence on my own. But why the sudden need to go back to Falling City?" she asked, confused. This seemed like a spur-of-the-moment decision, as he hadn't mentioned it before.
"Something came up suddenly." he explained, "I'll be back as soon as possible. Don't wait up for me tonight, you should go to sleep,"
"Alright," Mabel replied, feeling an inexplicable sensation lingering in her heart even after the call had ended.
