Mabel Quinn was sweating like crazy. Looking at the situation, it seemed it wouldn't be easy for him to get away, and although the event's security guards at the side were helping hold back the fans, it was obviously not doing much.
So, Mabel decided to walk out on her own first, then wait for Atlas Shaw later.
But when she was going down the steps, quite a few fans waiting outside heard the noise and rushed over. Two of them, while running toward her, ran straight into Mabel. Her footing faltered and she couldn't steady herself at all, her whole body pitching down the steps.
Atlas had actually been watching Mabel the moment she came out. Seeing her about to fall down the stairs, he wanted to rush over and catch her, but he simply couldn't break through the crowd of fans around him.
Atlas could only shout "Move!" at the people around him, yet he could only watch with his eyes wide open as Mabel tumbled down the steps.
