Chapter 6 - The Silent Shadow

As the day began to dull, Lee—a solitary figure with the look of someone who hadn't slept in a century—ran with desperate purpose. A worn luggage bag bumped relentlessly against his shoulder as he chased a retreating train through the echoing railway station. His breath came in ragged bursts, his hair flopping wildly in the wind. He didn't know where the train was going (in truth, he hadn't even looked at the signboard), but the weight of his personal destiny—oh, he knew that all too well.

The boy who currently chased the winds through the train window couldn't help but wonder, with a strange mix of exhaustion and defiance, what greater force he might be chasing once he fulfilled his pact with fate. His stomach growled loudly at the thought. "First fate, then maybe… a sandwich," he muttered, half to himself, half to the whistling air.

That remained a profound mystery.

In that same twilight, miles away, something ancient stirred—not in the wild, but in the heart of a woman who had seen far too many battles.Principal Nana, Lee's aunt, stood in the forest, the fading light cloaking her form. She was no mythical beast, no spectral guardian—yet in that moment, she embodied both. The instinct to protect her nephew ran deep, primal, and unyielding. She could sense his struggle, even from miles away, like a wolf sensing danger in the shifting wind.

She let a wry smile tug at her lips. "He thinks he's alone? As if I'd ever let that happen."

Her eyes glowed faintly in the dusk—not from magic, but from fierce resolve. She would never let anyone know the depth of her vigilance, or how much her heart clenched whenever she thought of the boy she'd practically raised. That secret, she guarded as fiercely as any wolf would her cub.

Early the next morning, the boy who had once chased the wind found himself abruptly—well—dropped. Quite literally.

The train, moving sluggishly over a rickety old bridge deep in the forest, had "decided" to let him off. There was no station. No sign. Just wilderness and a confused human landing ungracefully on a mountain slope with a thud that echoed his disbelief.

"Fantastic," Lee groaned, dusting himself off. "A first-class trip to Nowhere, Population: Me."

But then something shifted.

The instant his boots met the rugged earth, he felt it—an ancient presence. A heartbeat of power in the soil itself. His gaze lifted to the forest edge, where a shadow lingered—a shape that almost seemed like a Wolf, its fur the color of midnight. Yet when he blinked, it was gone, replaced by the faint impression of his aunt's watchful energy.

A warning. A blessing. A presence that said: I'm here, even when you can't see me.

He smiled faintly, acknowledging her unseen guardianship, and moved on.

Soon he found a cave nestled halfway up the slope and entered without hesitation. The air was cold, damp, but alive with energy. Here, he would train. Here, he would chase the "Resource" he desperately needed.

Unbeknownst to him, his aunt wasn't far behind. From a higher ridge, Nana crouched with her binoculars, her expression equal parts stern and affectionate. "You really are your father's son," she whispered. Then, with a sigh, she crept to where his discarded backpack lay. After inspecting its sorry state, she slipped a small pouch of medicine and a single chocolate bar inside.

"Don't say your aunt never helped," she murmured before retreating into the forest shadows, where duty and care coexisted in silence.

Below, Lee was already in motion. His training had begun—wild, relentless, a whirlwind of leaps, rolls, punches, and runs. To an outsider, it would look absurd, even chaotic. But Nana's sharp eyes caught the truth: there was not a single wasted movement. Every stretch, every breath, every angle of motion was calculated.

Driven. Purposeful. Terrifyingly precise.

Out of boredom—or maybe admiration—she decided to mimic one of his routines.Thirty seconds later, she was flat on her back, gasping. "He's insane," she wheezed. "Completely insane. And… kind of brilliant."

Over the next few days, she continued to observe in quiet awe (and mild soreness). Lee never broke pattern, never faltered—until, suddenly, he froze.

His head tilted slightly, eyes distant. He heard a faint voice echoing—not from the forest, but from somewhere deeper.

"Hey! It's about time you learned where the Dungeons are!"

Hanabi's voice.

Lee blinked, his serious expression melting into startled disbelief. "...Hanabi?!" he blurted, face twisting into a mix of confusion, relief, and mild panic. "How—how are you even talking through my mind?!"

From her vantage point, Nana nearly fell over laughing. "Oh, that's definitely her," she said with a grin.

The mountain seemed to hum with new life—laughter, exasperation, and the whisper of fate intertwining.Aunt and nephew, bound by distance and devotion, both standing at the edge of something far greater than themselves.

A perfect prelude to the chaos yet to come.

Special information :

Soul Seal (Passive & Active)Description:

A transcendent ability that defies conventional power structures, the Soul Seal grants its wielder dominion over fate itself. This ability allows the user to inscribe an unbreakable seal upon a target's soul, binding their existence to the wielder's will. Unlike ordinary restrictions, the Soul Seal disregards the opponent's level, rank, or power, ensuring absolute enforcement once the conditions are met.

Effects & Conditions:Seal Effect (Active):

Can completely suppress, bind, or restrain a target, rendering them unable to act against the wielder's command.

If fully activated, it can permanently imprison, weaken, or even erase the target's presence from existence.

The seal remains inactive until specific conditions—determined at the time of casting—are fulfilled.

Seal Activation (Passive Trigger):

Once the predetermined condition is met, the seal automatically activates, regardless of the target's awareness, resistance, or power level.

The condition varies depending on the situation and is influenced by the wielder's will. Some examples include:

"If the opponent attempts to kill me, the seal will activate."

"If the opponent betrays me, their power will be sealed."

"If the opponent's heart wavers in loyalty, they will be unable to move."

"If the target's soul harbors malice, their strength will be drained."

No Mana Consumption (Intelligence Stat Exemption):

Unlike most sealing techniques, the Soul Seal does not consume mana and is instead fueled by the user's willpower and dominion over fate.

As a result, even in a mana-deprived state, the user can still activate this ability effortlessly.

Higher-tier Sealing (Unawakened Potential):

Certain high-level beings may resist the initial effects of the seal, but they cannot escape it indefinitely.

If the user fully awakens the Soul Seal, even divine or otherworldly entities will be unable to resist its grasp.

This power can eventually overwrite existing contracts, curses, and divine decrees, bending reality itself.

Flair & Appearance:

When the Soul Seal is activated, the user's eyes turn a piercing blue, glowing with an ethereal light that signifies the absolute enforcement of their will.

A rune-like sigil appears over the target's chest, forehead, or limbs, resembling ancient chains wrapping around their soul.

The intensity of the seal's glow determines its binding strength. Once fully sealed, the target's body may even manifest phantom chains, signifying complete subjugation.

"This is not just a restriction. It is sovereignty over existence itself."
