Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: JOHN'S WILD WAY

This story is about the Earth, but not the Earth we once knew. Thousands of years later, the animals that dwelled on this earth became hideous beings because of some experiments and alterations on their DNA. There were some benign, and those that were benign from the very start and truly deserved not even the wonders of the braves she may have appeared to cause to be feared by the sturdy speech of one.

With time these beasts became mighty and men could no longer live as they wanted to. The majority was forced to lock themselves up in their houses being afraid of the monsters around. No one was ready to live in fear though. Some of the humans on other hand trained themselves like tycos and never gave in to cowering like other human beings. These people were transformed into Monster Tamers, fighters that controlled and fought the monsters. They succeeded in making them their friends rather than their enemies with the help of theirer decorative power. Taming of monsters followed over the time but it was by no means smooth sailing. The chances of becoming a successful Monster Tamer were thin, as only those who could stand fearlessly against any beast, big or small, were considered true tamers.

To develop this rare talent, monster taming schools were opened, as in those, certain children were conditioned to act as tamers of the beasts. And in this day we are reading about one such student who is John.

John wasn't trying to tame a fearsome beast or a deadly creature. Instead, he had been struggling for four years to tame a simple cat. Today there were the expression of excitement upon his face despite his repetition failures.

"I gave this cat a special fish today. If it doesn't work now, I don't know when it ever will!"

John smiled in his effort to put the fish right before the cat to give her an opportunity to realize this time he is the workman. The fish was eaten by the cat that licked John on the hands and looked at him with its piercing eyes. But just as the fish was gone, the cat suddenly bit him!

"Ahh!" John meanwhile gave a yell and leaped away in alarm. The cat growled at him, forcing him to run for his life.

His fellow students had observed the whole fiasco, and soon the corridors of the school were filled with laughter. But John had too busy escaping the raging cat to realize that he was being taunted.

There was Steve, the leader of the Black God Team-pound-shaker of the school cliques, in the crowd of men. He smiled in an sinister but amused manner at John.

"You have a great family, Peter, you know." Steve enquired of his teammate, Peter, who only closed his head.

"And you, Tony and Sofia, both of you have also wealthy families, right?"

The two bobbed their lives away.

"We are all bright but we had to fight it out to make our way into this school. It required high energies even with our powers and money. And yet, this poor orphan... How did he get in? More to the point, how has the man been staying here four years?"

The face of Steve grew angry.

It was rage giving to a man of his caliber, who had undergone a slower process with him to secure his admission, to see a man of the kind as John, who couldn't even tame a simple cat, roaming the school freely.

"Sofia, how much time does he have?" Steve asked.

"Just three months. If he fails to tame at least ten creatures before that, he'll be expelled," Sofia said to him.

"Good. Yet, I believe I will give him a lesson before he goes." Steve smirked.

Peter and Tony looked at one another and grinned.

"Understood, boss."

John, on the other hand, was finally able to bypass the cat by simply running out of school. He felt relieved, creatures assigned for taming couldn't leave the school premises.

He waited an hour out of doors, before venturing back into the building.

"What is wrong with me? I can not even tame a cat, and I'm supposed to become a Monster Tamer?"

He had the ambition of taming powerful monsters, but could not even manage to tame an ordinary animal. He narrowed his hands in irritation.

Everyone quieted down as he entered his classroom. They called to one another, and discussed his unsuccessfulness.

"Can you believe it? He's been trying to tame that cat for four years! If he fails this year, he's out!"

"I tamed mine in just two days!" another student bragged.

John dismissed them, and sat down.

Several seconds later another beautiful girl walked into the classroom.

But she was not the average student, she was Joanna, the first-ranked Monster Tamer in school. Nor was this only, as she unlike John had tamed one of those deadly serpent creatures, which now hung about her shoulders like a bracelet.

The children stood there in silence, mindful of attracting the interest of her snake.

There was a special rule at their school so that students could sitting in alphabetical order. It is due to this that John was compelled to sit next to Joanna over the last four years.

John had been happy with this arrangement but Joanna completely disgusted.

"Why did fate do this to me? Four years with this low life next to me! But it's okay. He'll be expelled soon. However, in three months, I would be free."

She struggles to smile and sits down next to John.

Within a few minutes, the door of the classroom burst open and the strictest teacher in the school, Miss Julie, entered.

She was known not only for her unmatched beauty but also for her short temper and ruthless discipline.

In order to capture the students attention, she slammed her hand against the desk of the teacher and a loud noise was produced that immediately silenced the room.

"Hey, look! Miss Julie is here. This might be John's last day!" someone whispered.

Julie had quick ears, and heard the gossip.

"What do you girls mean by all that whispering? Sit down and be quiet!" she snapped.

And all of them sat up at once, unable to incite her anger.

John, however, was too preoccupied with Joanna to see Miss Julie as she came in.

Gazing upon the fact that John had totally disregarded her, Miss Julie walked straight up to his desk, and stood over the seat.

Feeling the presence of someone looming over him, John slowly looked up...

And his heart nearly stopped.
