Luffy didn't hesitate when Law asked about what to do with Doflamingo's cadres. The Straw Hats had already beaten them, so letting them go didn't matter. Law, however, was not so lenient, so Luffy immediately decided to hand them over to Law and let him do whatever he wanted with them.
At that moment, Law understood that Luffy completely saw the Heart Pirates as a part of the Straw Hat crew. Law's decision on the captives would be seen as the Straw Hats' decision.
If Doflamingo had a problem with it, he'd have to deal with the entire Straw Hat Pirates. Law's expression was a mix of complicated emotions. He didn't know whether to be happy or helpless.
He was happy to have a powerful crew backing him, but he was also annoyed that he'd been roped into the Straw Hats' orbit without his permission. Now, even if he denied it, no one would believe him.
"Alright then," Law said. "I'll decide what to do. I'll send Diamante, Lao G, Buffalo, and Baby 5 back, but I'll keep their hearts. As long as Doflamingo resigns as a Warlord, their hearts won't explode."
Carl smiled. It was just as he had expected. Law's plan was a direct blow to Doflamingo. If Doflamingo refused to resign, he would be seen as someone who didn't care about his family's lives, which would cause an internal rebellion. If he agreed, the Marines would strip him of his title and arrest him. Dressrosa was too close to the New World's entrance, making Doflamingo a significant threat.
What about a fake resignation, like in the original story? That could work, but with the Summit War coming up, it was a tricky time.
If Doflamingo participated in the war, it would prove his resignation was fake, and Law would detonate the hearts. If he didn't, the Marines would arrest him for not participating in the war and strip him of his Warlord status.
Fleet Admiral Sengoku had been waiting a long time for this chance to avenge his adopted son, Rosinante, who Doflamingo had killed. He wouldn't let this opportunity slip by.
"Go for it, Law," Carl said, patting him on the shoulder. "The Straw Hats have your back."
Law didn't say a word and went to the warehouse where the prisoners were being held.
"Law!" Carl shouted, as he suddenly remembered something. "Can you also deal with the CP9 agents? Robin and I only care about Spandam's head. The others don't matter!"
Law stumbled, turning to stare at Carl in disbelief. Carl just shrugged. He didn't want to deal with the hassle himself. Since Law was already dealing with some prisoners, he might as well handle all of them. Carl didn't care what happened to the CP9 agents.
The next morning, Carl used his great sword to fly himself and Robin to a ship with a World Government flag. Spandam was on the deck, watching the Going Merry.
When Carl and Robin landed, his jaw dropped in shock. Spandam had brought a lot of people, but they were just ordinary agents. Carl easily knocked them all down, then tied up Spandam and took him away.
Before leaving, Robin told the surviving agents to deliver a message to Spandine: "Your son is the interest for revenge!"
Everything went so smoothly that Robin couldn't believe it. But then she realized it made sense. The Straw Hats' strength combined with Spandam's stupidity meant everything was bound to go well.
Spandam was tied up and still yelling threats about the Marines and the World Government coming for them. He demanded that they release him and that Robin surrender herself, so the Straw Hats could hand over their gold.
This brainless guy still didn't understand his situation. Carl, tired of listening, gagged him, instantly making the world a much more peaceful place.
When Carl and Robin got back to the Merry, the crew was already awake and sitting together, as if they were expecting a guest. The guest was Franky, the pervert in his underwear. Franky was here! Carl smiled. It looked like they were finally getting a shipwright.
Franky was a little nervous. After the party yesterday, his younger brothers had immediately begged him to join the Straw Hats. They said that since the World Government wanted something from him, he needed a powerful crew to protect him, and the Straw Hats were the best choice. Franky immediately teared up.
Iceburg then came and told him the same thing: the only way to protect himself was to join the Straw Hats. These guys weren't worried about being implicated; they were only worried about Franky's safety, which made him emotional.
Franky knew he couldn't stay in Water 7 any longer, or he would endanger everyone. He wanted to join the Straw Hats, but he wasn't confident. Everyone on the crew was so strong; would an unknown guy like him be accepted?
Finally, Granny Koko convinced him, telling him that if he was a man, he should just go. Regardless of the outcome, he had to accept it like a man. So Franky gritted his teeth and went to the Merry, where he was greeted by the crew, which only made him more anxious.
Just then, Carl and Robin returned with Spandam. Franky saw him and instantly flew into a rage. He charged forward and delivered a heavy punch, sending Spandam flying. His already ugly face became even more deformed.
"Sorry, everyone, I couldn't help it," Franky said. He took a deep breath. "This Spandam was the one who framed me back then, which forced my master, Mr. Tom, to use the credit of the sea train to save me. This bastard also took Mr. Tom away. I've wanted to kill him for so long!"
The crew suddenly realized that Spandam was also the one who framed Mr. Tom. And since he had also tried to abduct Robin and steal their gold, they felt he deserved to die a thousand times over. It's often said that ugly people do ugly things, and Spandam and his father's appearances perfectly matched their vile hearts.
