Carl's words finally helped Law calm down. It was true that Doflamingo was still alive, but he was seriously injured. As long as Law recovered his strength first, he would have another chance to kill his enemy. Law realized he needed to rest now. On the other side, Doflamingo worked hard to repair his internal organs using his powers. He woke up a short time later and coughed up a mouthful of blood. Surprisingly, he was able to move again quite quickly. He had underestimated the healing power of his String-String Fruit.
Doflamingo smiled with pride. He told Law that he was almost killed, but since he was still alive, it would be impossible for Law to succeed a second time. Being alive made him feel great, but he remained careful. He turned to Kaido and suggested they go back to Dressrosa where it was safer. He warned Kaido that Carl was dangerous and that they should avoid fighting him for now.
Kaido growled with anger in his eyes. He asked if Doflamingo was trying to tell him what to do. Doflamingo quickly denied it and suggested that they should let Jack handle Carl instead, since Carl was the one who cut off Jack's hand. Kaido surprisingly agreed to this plan. Both Doflamingo and Carl were shocked that Kaido was persuaded so easily. Kaido was often unpredictable and a bit crazy, so perhaps he simply wanted an excuse to stop fighting Carl for a while.
Kaido grabbed Doflamingo and shot toward Dressrosa like a cannonball. Carl complained that Kaido was very good at running away, but he quickly chased after them with his giant sword. After a few minutes, Kaido and Doflamingo suddenly stopped. Someone was blocking their path. Carl caught up and felt happy when he saw who it was. A Marine warship was parked on the sea below. Fleet Admiral Sengoku and Vice Admiral Tsuru stood on the deck. High in the air, Kizaru and Fujitora were waiting calmly to stop the pirates.
Dressrosa had become a massive battlefield. It felt even more intense than the Paramount War because so many powerful people were there. Kaido was irritable and asked Kizaru if he wanted to die. Kizaru acted casual and didn't seem afraid of the Emperor at all. He made a joke about how scary the Four Emperors were while light sparkled around him.
Doflamingo looked down at the warship. He felt fear when he saw Tsuru and then met Sengoku's eyes. He could see that Sengoku wanted to kill him. Doflamingo tried to act calm and asked what the Marines were doing. Sengoku told him they were there to catch pirates. Carl and Law smiled because they knew what was coming. Carl moved his giant sword behind the pirates to block their escape.
Doflamingo tried to argue. He reminded Sengoku that even if he wasn't a Warlord anymore, he was still the king of a country. He also mentioned that his subordinate, Trebol, was still a Warlord, so the Marines should be on his side. Sengoku just smiled coldly. He told Doflamingo that his identity didn't matter anymore. He accused Doflamingo of putting spies in the Marines, stealing secrets, and ruining Marine operations.
Doflamingo was confused. He immediately thought of Vergo, but he knew Vergo was only lurking and hadn't stolen any major secrets yet. Sengoku shouted that Vergo had been caught and that they knew everything. He added that Doflamingo was also guilty of selling weapons to pirates and working with Kaido. These were all crimes that deserved death.
Doflamingo realized that Sengoku was using tricks. He knew Vergo would never talk, and the claims about stealing secrets were lies. Sengoku was framing him. However, Sengoku didn't care about the truth. After getting information from Carl, he had arrested Vergo immediately. Even though Vergo wouldn't speak, Sengoku was certain that Doflamingo and Vergo were responsible for the death of his adopted son, Rosinante.
Sengoku wanted to get revenge before he retired from his position as Fleet Admiral. He and Tsuru had created false evidence by blaming Doflamingo for many past Marine failures and stolen secrets. Tsuru had been chasing Doflamingo for many years and hated him, so she was happy to help. Neither of them cared if this plan was slightly dishonest. They felt that the World Government was already full of corruption, so doing this to catch a villain felt right. Besides, the charges regarding weapon sales and working with Kaido were completely true.
Fujitora didn't wait any longer. He pulled out his gravity blade and told the pirates it was time to die. A purple light shot into the sky. Soon, a massive meteorite began falling toward Kaido and Doflamingo. Doflamingo was terrified and wondered where this blind man had come from. He compared the power to a natural disaster.
Kaido was not afraid at all. He laughed and said it was interesting to find such a strong fighter. He wondered if the Marines actually had the power to kill him. He pushed Doflamingo out of the way and raised his mace. Dark lightning began to crackle around the weapon. It looked like Kaido was going to hit the meteorite head-on.
