Chapter 453 - Chapter 452: Morning Market

Torifu had asked Tobirama multiple times, but this was always the reply he received. In Tobirama's view, Minato had a very strong chance of mastering the Flying Thunder God. After all, he had only been training for a few months and had already reached this stage. Logically, this should take a year or two of training to achieve. This was thanks to Minato's talent in Space-Time Ninjutsu, which allowed him to quickly grasp the simpler steps.

Torifu did not know the Flying Thunder God, so he couldn't help much. He could only silently encourage and support him.

After about an hour passed, Minato stopped his training. Sweaty, he returned to the house to take a shower and came out wearing a fresh set of clothes.

"Big Brother, I feel like I made some progress today."

Torifu smiled when he heard this. "That's great. Remember that feeling today, and work hard to grasp it. You might just master the Flying Thunder God."

Minato thought the same, but moderation was key. He didn't plan to train frantically today, as that might affect his mental state tomorrow and cloud his mind, making it likely he'd lose that feeling. Moving forward gradually was certainly more important.

"Big Brother, are we going to eat?"

"Yes, we'll go together once Yahiko and Konan come out. They seem to have gone back to change."

Minato nodded. He had just seen Yahiko and the others. Why had they disappeared in the blink of an eye?

Just as the two were talking, Yahiko and Konan came out of the room, wearing white robes. Yahiko's reddish-orange hair looked a bit goofy with the white robe, but it suited Konan just right.

"Hmm... I'll have Madam Beni make a set of black robes for you tomorrow. Otherwise, the colors don't match your hair color, especially Yahiko."

Yahiko had thought so for a long time but had held back from saying anything. Fortunately, it had finally been noticed. As for Konan, she could wear any clothes and look good. As the only girl in the family, Konan was arguably the favorite of the group. Torifu, Minato, and Amado all took great care of Konan. Yahiko, of course, was even more inseparable from Konan.

"Sensei, are we leaving now to eat?" Yahiko rubbed his stomach. After running around madly all morning with Konan, he was a bit hungry.

"Of course. Let's go now."

The morning market was bustling right now. After Konoha was expanded, the morning market was moved to a less crowded street. Most of the village's administrative buildings, such as the Police Force and the Finance Department, were located here. In the morning, when no one was at work, the market could open lively, and by the time they started work, the market would already be over. This allowed Konoha's villagers to experience a much more bustling version of the morning market.

After Torifu became Hokage, many reforms were made to be user-friendly and convenient. After all, it was no longer a time of war, and the Hokage's main goal had shifted from protecting the village to governing it. However, hard power was still the most important thing.

"Ah, Hokage-sama is here! Would you like to try the new bun I've invented? It's a new flavor you've definitely never tasted before!"

Torifu had a strong impression of this person. He was a vendor who was very interested in food research. His products were hit-or-miss: some were excellent, while others were awful. Over time, his reputation soared. Many people came to try his food with a testing mindset. Some tasted delicious food, while others... ended up in the hospital.

"No, no, thank you. I'd like to live for a couple more days."

When Torifu said this, the surrounding villagers burst into laughter. The vendor also laughed loudly. "Don't worry, Hokage-sama. This one is definitely delicious!"

Minato was intrigued by what the vendor said and bought one to try. The dish looked pretty good on the outside. So, under the gaze of Torifu and the surrounding crowd, and the anticipation of the owner, he took a big bite.

"Hmm... why is it a fish-stuffed bun? But it actually tastes quite good."

Torifu could guarantee that Minato didn't have any strange taste preferences, which meant that today's bun might actually be good. So, he also bought one to try. After one bite, it was indeed pretty good.

Seeing that even the Hokage had bought one, the villagers who were watching all bought one to try. For some reason, the crowd grew larger and actually pushed Torifu and the others out. Torifu and Minato, each holding a bun, smiled helplessly. "Let's go. I'll eat something else." Torifu personally didn't like fish very much, so he found the flavor of the bun to be just average, but still acceptable.

Yahiko and Konan, however, strongly disliked fish. During their time wandering, getting a single fish was a luxury, and they used to like fish then. But now they seemed to have developed a fear of their past tragic life and strongly disliked eating fish. Torifu naturally respected their tastes and didn't force them to eat things they didn't like.

With a market this big, there was always something they would enjoy. In the end, the three of them decided to eat wonton soup. They frequented this shop often, and its business was booming. Part of it was due to Torifu's presence, and the other part was that the taste was genuinely good.

"Owner, three bowls of wonton soup."

"Coming right up, Hokage-sama. Please have a seat. I've already put them in the pot."

Since they were going to be having lunch at Mito's place today, it was better to eat less in the morning and save some space.

"Big Brother, what if I'm out on a mission and can't attend your wedding with Big Sister-in-law?"

Torifu smiled and stroked Minato's head. "Don't overthink it. If you want to attend, I'll get you a leave of absence. If you don't want to interrupt your training, you can choose to watch the recording when you come back at night."

Minato immediately said, "Of course, I want to attend! I'm part of this family, too."

"Then why are you saying such pointless things? Hurry up and eat."

"Oh." Minato replied and lowered his head to eat.

Yahiko seemed eager to ask something, but before he could open his mouth, Torifu cut him off. "You two can also take a day off to have fun."

As if he had genuinely guessed their thoughts, Yahiko and Konan smiled. Seizing the opportunity, Torifu continued, "Your chakra reserves are almost sufficient. I don't plan to let you stay at home indefinitely, so I'm arranging for you to go to the Ninja Academy starting tomorrow."

"Ah?" Neither of them expected this day to arrive so suddenly. However, they didn't feel resistant to the idea. They were getting a bit bored staying at home anyway.
