Chapter 407: A Turning Point?
"..."
However, as soon as that soul beast casually voiced its thoughts, the entire group of beasts fell into silence.
"…What's wrong with you all?"
The soul beast hesitated upon noticing the sudden shift in atmosphere.
"Do you remember? In the video, Elder Ye mentioned something called the 'Ring Condensation Method' a path where one forges their own soul rings, leading to the path of the Divine Ring Master."
"Condensing soul rings independently?"
Most soul beasts that could reach the level of fierce beasts had exceptional memories. With a bit of recall, it quickly found that segment in its mind.
"If soul masters could generate their own soul rings without hunting soul beasts, it would certainly be beneficial to us."
"But that still doesn't change the fact that humans covet us, soul beasts. Don't forget, aside from soul rings, we also have soul bones. And our habitats contain numerous valuable resources things humans need for cultivation and for advancing soul tools."
This beast was unconvinced. It didn't believe that eliminating the need for soul rings alone would ensure the safety of the soul beast race.
However, some other fierce beasts held a different view. One of them spoke up:
"The situation isn't quite the same as you think. First, soul rings and soul bones are fundamentally different. Every soul beast possesses a soul ring, and soul masters require them to level up, making soul beast hunting a necessity. That's an irreconcilable conflict between humans and soul beasts."
"But soul bones, on the other hand, aren't essential for human cultivation. More importantly, soul bones are incredibly rare killing ten thousand soul beasts wouldn't necessarily yield even a handful of them. If humans want soul bones, they must either hunt 100,000 year old beasts or engage in mass slaughter."
"But here's the catch we, soul beasts, are not easy prey. If humans dare to engage in mass slaughter, we are more than capable of launching beast tides against them. This threat alone is enough to deter most humans from reckless hunting."
"So, if we eliminate the fundamental need for soul rings, then the remaining desire for soul bones won't be enough to justify large scale soul beast hunting. And if there's no mass hunting, there won't be a steady supply of soul bones."
"With that, the pressure on our race would drastically decrease. Sure, some humans may still hunt us, but that's a far better scenario than the entire human race treating us as resources to be harvested. The difference between the two is massive."
Upon hearing this analysis, the other fierce beasts nodded in agreement.
Any soul beast that had lived for thousands or tens of thousands of years was as intelligent as a human. They learned, adapted, and were far from mindless creatures. They understood strategy.
The naïve, soft hearted beasts like Da Ming, Er Ming, and Xiao Wu were the exception, not the rule. The vast majority of high level soul beasts were cunning and pragmatic.
"…Fine, let's say that eliminating the need for soul rings is indeed beneficial for us." The skeptical beast was finally convinced but quickly raised another critical issue.
"But where are we supposed to find this method that allows humans to condense soul rings on their own?"
The other soul beasts froze, as if waking from a dream.
The beast continued:
"Even if we do find this method, how do we ensure that all humans learn it?"
"Let's be realistic condensing soul rings sounds like a complicated process. Wouldn't it be easier for humans to just continue hunting soul beasts instead?"
"Besides, we don't even know the difference between this Ring Condensation Method and the traditional way of absorbing soul rings. Why should we assume humans would even want it?"
These sharp, realistic questions plunged the entire gathering of soul beasts into silence.
"…If we could find Elder Ye's remaining soul fragments…" one soul beast hesitantly suggested.
But before it could finish, another beast immediately cut it off.
"Elder Ye is a human."
That single sentence was enough to shut down the conversation.
Indeed, Elder Ye was a human.
Even if they somehow found his remaining soul fragments, why would he ever share such a method with soul beasts?
Just as the fierce beasts were beginning to feel dejected thinking that the glimmer of hope they had found was slipping away
A light, playful sound of footsteps suddenly came from a distance.
A soul beast, bounding energetically, approached.
This soul beast had the body of a lion, standing over three meters long with a shoulder height of nearly eight feet. Its entire body was covered in golden fur that shimmered like transparent crystal. While resembling a lion, its four paws were more like dragon claws, each stepping upon golden flames.
Additionally, its snout was longer than that of a typical lion, and beneath its fur, golden scales were faintly visible.
Most strikingly, it had three eyes.
Its two normal eyes gleamed gold, while the third eye, a vertical pupil in the center of its forehead, glowed with an eerie red light.
It was none other than the Emperor Auspicious Beast, the Three Eyed Golden Lion!
At that moment, the Auspicious Beast joyfully pranced toward the gathered soul beasts, mumbling in an excited, indistinct manner:
"Di Tian, look what I found…"
Initially, the fierce beasts paid little attention.
But as the Auspicious Beast drew closer and opened its mouth, dropping the object it had been carrying
Every single fierce beast's gaze instantly locked onto it, filled with disbelief.
Before them lay a fragmented artifact, seemingly made of white jade, covered in intricate carvings and engravings.
However, it was incomplete it appeared to be a sword hilt, split in half.
"T this is…" One soul beast stammered.
"…The hilt of the Flying Rainbow Sword!" another beast exclaimed.
"Where did you find this, Auspicious Beast?!" one of the beasts asked excitedly.
Their reaction was completely justified.
Because this wasn't just any artifact it was a piece of a Creation God's divine weapon!
Even in its broken state, the power sealed within it was beyond imagination.
In the video, Huo Yuhao had barely activated a sliver of its power, yet he was able to reshape the entire God Realm in an instant.
If they could harness this power
Would they even need to fear the God Realm anymore?
Every soul beast that had seen the video understood one absolute truth:
Even when shattered into fragments, each piece of the Flying Rainbow Sword still contained unfathomable power.
If they could unlock its potential…
Then changing the fate of the soul beast race would no longer be a distant dream.
As for how they would awaken and wield this power
They already had the perfect candidate.
Their master, the Silver Dragon King, was a true God King.
