Chapter 408 - Chapter 408: Limitations and Surprises

Chapter 408: Limitations and Surprises

To the fierce beasts, the logic was simple if Huo Yuhao, as a God King, could activate the power of the divine weapon in the video, then their master, the Silver Dragon King, should be able to do the same. Even without Elder Ye's authorization, drawing out the weapon's power shouldn't necessarily require permission.

As long as they could find the right method, they were convinced they could unleash the energy contained within the fragments.

They simply didn't believe that a masterless artifact, whose creator had already perished, would remain beyond their grasp if they dedicated their entire race's resources to studying it.

If Elder Ye had been aware of their thoughts, he probably would have laughed at the sheer overconfidence of these soul beasts.

"Where did you find this sword hilt, Auspicious Beast?" The gathered fierce beasts eagerly asked.

"I picked it up by the roadside."

The Three Eyed Golden Lion answered truthfully. Initially, given its broken and incomplete state, she wouldn't have given the hilt a second glance. At most, she would have assumed it was a shattered piece of some soul tool used by human soul masters who came to hunt beasts.

But after watching the video of the future, the image of that weapon had been burned into her memory.

So when she happened upon a fragment that bore a striking resemblance, she had moved closer to inspect it more carefully.

Sure enough, she quickly realized that this fragment was anything but ordinary. It was too perfectly mundane devoid of any attributes, emitting no soul power fluctuations, and yet, no matter what she did, it couldn't be damaged.

Through her experiments, the Three Eyed Golden Lion confirmed that this fragment was indeed part of the immensely powerful Flying Rainbow Sword.

And so, she proudly carried it back, presenting it to the other fierce beasts as if claiming a prize.

"Auspicious Beast, you've done a great service!"

The gathered soul beasts were ecstatic. In their eyes, this artifact fragment represented the future hope of the soul beast race a key that could determine whether they could one day retake the God Realm, overcome the tribulations that plagued them, and break free from the shackles of fate.

"It's a shame we only found this one piece. If we could locate more fragments, the power we could harness would be even greater!" After their initial excitement, greed began to creep into their hearts.

But to their surprise, the Three Eyed Golden Lion calmly said, "Finding more fragments isn't impossible."

"You can track them?" One of the fierce beasts asked excitedly.

"Yes."

She nodded, then shifted her gaze toward the broken sword hilt.

"Using this fragment as a guide and channeling my power of fate, I should be able to pinpoint the locations of other similar fragments."

"That's fantastic!"

The soul beasts cheered. To them, treasures like these were never too many the more, the better.

Without hesitation, the Three Eyed Golden Lion's third eye began to glow. A brilliant beam of light enveloped the shattered hilt, and in that instant, dozens of thin threads of energy extended outward, stretching in different directions.

However, these threads of fate were invisible to everyone else only the Three Eyed Golden Lion could see them.

Even the appearance of these threads was merely a manifestation of her own understanding; their true form was intangible and formless.

As a Creation God level weapon, the Flying Rainbow Sword existed on a completely different plane of existence. If not for the fact that she had this physical fragment as an anchor, even with her Eye of Destiny, pinpointing the locations of other fragments would have been impossible.

Because the Flying Rainbow Sword had long since transcended the fate of the Douluo Star, it had become an existence beyond the world's natural laws.

To put it plainly, it wasn't bound by fate it existed outside of it.

The Three Eyed Golden Lion's fate abilities only extended within the realm of the Douluo Star. Anything beyond this world, like the scattered fragments floating in deep space, was simply beyond her reach.

If she truly had the power to affect the entire universe, then why would they even need to fear the God Realm? She could simply erase it from existence!

Gradually, the light from her third eye dimmed, and after a brief moment, the eye slowly closed.

She looked visibly exhausted, and before the other fierce beasts could say anything, she collapsed onto the ground, panting heavily.

The other soul beasts remained silent, waiting patiently.

After resting for a short while, she finally lifted her head.

One of the soul beasts immediately asked, "Auspicious Beast, how did it go?"

"The fragments outside of this region are too far away. I can only sense general directions, but…"

Her voice trailed off, and the gathered beasts momentarily felt disappointed.

However, before they could dwell on it, she continued:

"But within the forest, I detected around sixteen other fragments. I can pinpoint their exact locations."

At those words, the fierce beasts erupted with excitement.

Without wasting a moment, they rushed off following the Three Eyed Golden Lion's guidance eager to collect the scattered fragments before anyone else could.

Of course, they also understood that the likelihood of anyone else finding and recognizing these fragments was incredibly low.

After all, the fragments gave off no soul power, nor did they appear extraordinary in any way. To the untrained eye, they were nothing more than ordinary broken artifacts.

Without the ability to track them, even if someone stumbled upon one, they probably wouldn't think much of it.

If not for the future video revealing their significance, these broken shards would be nothing more than discarded trash.

Even a beggar wouldn't bother picking them up.

And so, with the Three Eyed Golden Lion leading the way, the search began.

After a period of time, thanks to her precise tracking abilities and the fact that Star Dou Forest was their territory, they successfully gathered all sixteen fragments.

Interestingly, these fragments were all pieces of the sword's hilt.

As soon as the fragments were placed together, an invisible force seemed to draw them toward each other.

One by one, the broken pieces merged seamlessly, forming a complete sword hilt.

Then, in a flash of radiant light

The cracks vanished.

The once damaged hilt restored itself, looking as pristine as if it had never been broken.

Yet, upon witnessing this miraculous sight, the fierce beasts all fell into a deep silence.

They remembered something from the video

Back when Huo Yuhao had gathered the fragments, the only reason they had automatically fused was because Elder Ye's soul remnants had been inside them.

In other words…

Among the fragments they had just collected, at least one of them must contain a portion of Elder Ye's soul.
