Chapter 409 - Chapter 409: The World of Memories

Chapter 409: The World of Memories

When the soul beasts realized that one of the fragments they had gathered might contain a piece of Elder Ye's soul, they were filled with both excitement and concern.

The excitement came from the unexpected fortune while searching for artifact fragments, they had accidentally found something even rarer.

In many ways, a soul fragment of Elder Ye was far more valuable than any artifact piece.

After all, Elder Ye was a being beyond a God King. His knowledge and experience alone were priceless. But most importantly, he possessed a method that allowed soul masters to form their own soul rings, eliminating the need to hunt soul beasts.

For the soul beast race, this knowledge alone was invaluable.

If they could gain his help, their dream of breaking free from their current state and waging war against the God Realm would no longer be just a fantasy.

However, there was also a major concern Elder Ye was ultimately a human soul master, and before becoming a god, he must have hunted soul beasts to grow stronger.

Would he view soul beasts as mere stepping stones, much like the God Realm did?

Would he see them as tools rather than equals?

If Elder Ye was hostile to soul beasts, his presence could be a disaster rather than a blessing.

Would he secretly sabotage their research on the divine weapon? Would he pretend to be helpful only to set them up for failure?

The soul beasts understood the dark side of human nature far too well.

They had lived long enough to witness human cruelty. Some of them had disguised themselves as humans and infiltrated human societies, observing how deceitful they could be.

Humans were complicated some were good, but others were rotten to the core.

A long silence fell over the group.

Di Tian and the other fierce beasts exchanged uncertain glances, unsure of how to proceed.

Finally, the Three Eyed Golden Lion broke the silence.

"Di Tian, I don't think you need to be so worried. The owner of this sword hilt isn't as hostile toward us as you might think."

"You mean…?" Di Tian and the others turned toward her, eager for an explanation.

"When I used my power of fate earlier, I briefly glimpsed a fragment of the future. Though it was vague, I could tell one thing this sword hilt will bring prosperity to our race, not destruction."

The Three Eyed Golden Lion hesitated for a moment before adding, "In other words, this Elder Ye is likely to be our ally."

"Likely?"

"Probably?"

Di Tian wiped the sweat off his forehead. Wasn't this way too uncertain?

But since fate indicated that the sword's owner wouldn't be their enemy, they decided to take a gamble.

At this point, the soul beast race was already at rock bottom how much worse could things get?

So they made a bold decision they would actively attempt to communicate with the soul fragment within the sword hilt to determine whether Elder Ye was friend or foe.

However, despite calling out to Elder Ye multiple times, they got no response.

The hilt remained completely silent.

At one point, they even started doubting whether there was a soul fragment in it at all.

Fortunately, the Three Eyed Golden Lion quickly identified the issue the soul fragment might still be dormant and needed to be awakened.

But how?

Di Tian attempted to infuse it with soul power nothing happened.

He tried to connect with it using spiritual energy he was completely blocked out.

Now what?

The soul beasts scratched their heads in frustration.

How were they supposed to wake up a dormant soul fragment?

"I think I can use my power of fate to send our spirits inside the hilt," the Three Eyed Golden Lion suggested hesitantly. "But there's a risk if the soul fragment is hostile, we could suffer severe mental damage."

"We've come this far what's a little risk?" Di Tian waved a claw dismissively. "A bit of mental backlash is nothing!"

With that, the Three Eyed Golden Lion activated her third eye once again.

A powerful surge of fate energy enveloped the soul beasts, connecting their spirits before pulling them into the sword hilt's inner world.

At that moment

BOOM!

The world around them shifted violently.

A wave of dizziness overtook them, making them feel like they were spinning endlessly through a vortex.

It took a long moment before they could finally regain their senses.

When they did, they found themselves in a familiar yet unfamiliar world.

Familiar, because this was clearly Douluo Continent.

Unfamiliar, because the energy in this world was unbelievably pure!

As one of the oldest surviving soul beasts, Di Tian had once followed the Dragon God in battle against the God Realm.

So the moment he sensed the energy of this world, he was shocked to his core

The concentration of energy here was on par with the God Realm!

"What… is this place?"

"Where are we?"

The soul beasts looked around in confusion.

Fortunately, the Three Eyed Golden Lion quickly explained:

"This isn't the real world it's a memory world formed by the soul fragment's past experiences. We aren't physically here; only our spirits have entered, similar to a dream."

"Meaning that if our spirit forms are destroyed here, our real bodies will also suffer damage."

The soul beasts nodded in understanding.

Now that they knew where they were, their curiosity took over.

Their attention shifted to the astonishingly pure energy surrounding them.

If they had their physical bodies here, they would have immediately started cultivating the energy here was too valuable to waste.

They could tell that in this world, breaking through to a million year cultivation level would be effortless.

Of course, that was only if the God Realm wasn't suppressing them.

"This is another version of Douluo Continent?"

The soul beasts curiously wandered through the memory world, eager to explore this alternate reality.

More importantly, they needed to find the memory's owner Elder Ye.

But as they ventured deeper into this world, they couldn't shake the feeling that something about this Douluo Continent was vastly different from their own…
