Chapter 450: The Last Ember
In the video, Ye Cheng used his boundless divine power to transform the moon into a self sustaining world. Inside, he perfectly replicated everything from Douluo Continent, including miniature versions of the sun and moon, with an illusory starry sky to balance yin and yang and maintain the world's operation.
After its transformation, the moon though much smaller in size than Douluo Star had an energy concentration just as high.
More importantly, this moon was not just a livable world it was an enormous interstellar spaceship!
Fitted with Douluo's most advanced soul tool technology, once activated, it could travel across the universe, carrying the last embers of civilization away from the doomed Douluo Star in search of a new home.
Even before the Abyss invaded, Ye Cheng had gathered Douluo's top leaders and explained the situation. He proposed the Ember Plan to select the most promising young talents from both humans and soul beasts, and send them aboard the moon turned Star Ark to escape the disaster.
As for why not everyone could be evacuated
First, there simply wasn't enough space.
Second, all of Douluo had already been tainted by Abyssal energy. If everyone boarded the Star Ark, the sheer size of the fleeing population would make them too easy to track.
They could spend centuries searching for a new planet, only for the Abyss to open a rift there soon after, bringing yet another invasion.
Thus evacuating all of humanity was impossible.
Ye Cheng chose to stay behind, determined to face destruction alongside those who remained.
The live chat exploded.
[The Ember Plan… the Star Ark…]
[This feels so hopeless… so desperate…]
[Is the Abyss really that unstoppable?]
[Honestly, if Ye Cheng left with them, it'd be better. He could lead humanity's survivors instead of staying behind to die. He's already done more than enough.]
[But if he abandoned them, he wouldn't be the White Cloud City Lord.]
[Yeah… Choosing to perish with his people who else has that kind of resolve?]
The audience was filled with grief and admiration.
After all the struggles, Douluo Star was still doomed.
But at least, a small ember of civilization would survive.
In the video.
Atop White Cloud City
Ye Cheng, dressed in white robes, stood with his hands behind his back, quietly gazing at the blood red sky.
Beside him stood the Silver Dragon King and Qian Renxue
Both choosing to stand by him in this final moment.
Many gods had chosen to stay.
Among them were Ye Cheng, the Silver Dragon King, Qian Renxue, and many other divine level powerhouses some familiar, some unknown.
None of them boarded the Star Ark.
"Why are you staying?" Ye Cheng sighed, glancing at the two women.
"Leaving with the Star Ark won't change anything."
"And the children... they're still so young."
"Losing their father is already painful enough."
"Must they lose their mothers too?"
Qian Renxue said nothing she simply held his hand.
The Silver Dragon King also held his other hand.
At this moment words were meaningless.
Ye Cheng sighed.
"There's still time. If you regret it, you can still go."
Qian Renxue shook her head. "This time, you're not leaving me behind."
The Silver Dragon King echoed, "Di Tian and the others will take care of her."
Seeing their unwavering determination, Ye Cheng could only sigh once more.
Finally, he wrapped his arms around both women and whispered
"Then let's face it together."
In the live chat
Many viewers felt their eyes sting.
Something about this scene the quiet resolve, the acceptance of fate was deeply heartbreaking.
The scene shifted.
The Star Ark the moon was now in deep space.
From the outside, it no longer looked like the moon
Instead, it resembled a massive, flaming meteor, streaking through the vast, empty universe.
This was its natural camouflage
From the outside, no one would suspect that inside this "meteor" was a thriving world.
No one would imagine that this unremarkable celestial body carried the last hope of an entire civilization.
It was impossible to say how long they had been traveling.
Fortunately
The Star Ark was a self sustaining world.
It could absorb cosmic energy, ensuring endless power for the journey.
They never needed to land on dead planets to gather resources.
They could travel indefinitely.
Inside the Star Ark.
In a control hall filled with intricate instruments, screens displayed every corner of the Ark
As well as their position in the cosmos.
At the center stood Sun Zhongjing and Neptune, along with other god level powerhouses.
They were speaking with the Ark's chief navigator.
"How much longer?"
The navigator bowed respectfully.
"The Star Ark has been traveling for 673 years."
"Based on current readings, we should reach the closest habitable star system in about 30 more years."
The gods were stunned
Then, exhilarated.
They had finally found a new home.
Seven hundred years later.
The Star Ark finally reached its destination.
A new solar system, eerily similar to Douluo's.
It had a sun, a moon, and a blue green planet teeming with life.
Most importantly
It was far, far away from Douluo Star.
Far enough that the Abyss might never find them.
For the first time in centuries
The survivors dared to hope.
They scanned the new planet.
The environment was almost identical to Douluo Star.
The only difference
There were no humans.
Instead, the planet was home to colossal, bizarre creatures.
Massive beasts, driven by instinct, with no sign of intelligence.
Facing the descending Star Ark
The primitive beasts never stood a chance.
