Chapter 492: The Overconfident Soul Beasts
In the territory of the Tianhun Empire on Douluo Two, a towering castle stood atop a mountain surrounded by endless peaks.
This was the base of the Haotian Sect.
Inside the castle, two middle aged men were engaged in conversation.
One was a towering brute of a man, his short, steel like hair standing rigid like needles. His deep brown eyes occasionally flashed with golden light. Even the loose gray robe he wore couldn't fully conceal his bulging muscles, which rippled with strength.
The other man had long, flowing teal hair, his eyes the same shade of blue green. Every time he blinked, his overwhelming power seemed barely restrained, leaking out in faint waves.
These two were none other than Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python, two legendary soul beasts who had sacrificed themselves for Tang San ten thousand years ago. After ascending with him to the Divine Realm, their bodies had been reforged, granting them the status of low level divine officials.
Though they held the lowest divine rank, their luck had been undeniably extraordinary.
Had it not been for Xiao Wu a dear sister to them both they never would have been revived. Without her, their talent alone wouldn't have even qualified them to set foot in the Divine Realm's core.
Had they remained mere soul beasts, they would have long perished under the trials of the hundred thousand year heavenly tribulations.
Now, as divine officials, they no longer needed to fear tribulation. Though their status in the Divine Realm left them ostracized and discriminated against due to their origins as soul beasts, compared to the countless others who had fallen, they were incredibly fortunate.
For this reason, the two were absolutely loyal to Tang San.
Under his command, they had secretly descended to the mortal world to protect his daughter, Tang Wutong, and had even taken control of the Haotian Sect.
In the original timeline, divine beings descending from the Divine Realm to Douluo were severely restricted, their powers suppressed by the world's laws. As a result, Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python could only fully unleash their divine strength within the vicinity of the Haotian Sect. If they left, they were forced to seal their power, limiting themselves to the rank of Ultimate Douluo.
Additionally, breaking this seal and using divine power would immediately alert the Divine Realm, as Tang San's actions were strictly against the rules. If discovered, he would face heavy criticism.
But now, with the fusion of Douluo One and Douluo Two, the world had changed.
The planet could now accommodate God King level beings, and as a result, the previous laws of suppression had vanished.
Moreover, the Divine Realm had lost much of its control over Douluo Star.
Aside from minor influence through the Divine Core, they could no longer meddle as they once had.
Thus, when Tang San sensed Douluo One preparing to invade Douluo Two, his options were extremely limited.
He could either send subordinates or descend himself.
But the world had become too unpredictable, filled with too many unknown dangers.
Tang San wasn't willing to risk descending.
And so, the cowardly Tang San decided to send his hidden forces Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python to deal with the incoming fleet from Douluo One.
When the two soul beasts received his orders, they didn't rush to action. Instead, they began discussing the situation.
"Have you noticed?" Sky Azure Bull Python mused. "Something about this world feels different. The suppression we once faced has vanished completely. It feels… like the Divine Realm itself."
"It's not your imagination," Titan Giant Ape responded. "Otherwise, Lord Sea God wouldn't have told us to release our seals and eliminate the invaders from the other world."
"It seems those invaders won't be easy to deal with. Otherwise, the Sea God wouldn't have personally sent us."
"Who cares?" Titan Giant Ape scoffed. "Human soul tools are nothing but toys. We are gods! With both of us taking action, there's no way we can lose. These mere mortals are just ants beneath our feet."
Sky Azure Bull Python chuckled in agreement. "True, they're just a bunch of weaklings."
After all, they were divine beings from the Divine Realm.
How could any opponent on Douluo Star possibly compare to them?
Even Di Tian the legendary Beast God they once feared was now nothing more than an insect before their power.
The Haotian Sect had been isolated from the rest of the world. Since the fusion of the two continents had only recently occurred, Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python were completely ignorant of what had happened in Douluo One.
They had merely heard that Douluo One was at a "one hundred thousand year" time difference.
Based on that information alone, they assumed that Douluo One was stuck in a primitive, undeveloped state with zero divine powerhouses.
Their ignorance filled them with overconfidence.
"Do you think there might be another version of us over there? Or maybe another Xiao Wu?" Titan Giant Ape suddenly asked.
"Who knows?" Sky Azure Bull Python mused. "Maybe, maybe not."
"If we get the chance, we should check it out for ourselves."
"Heh, I like that idea…" Titan Giant Ape grinned dumbly.
After their casual chat, the two finally decided to leisurely prepare for battle.
In their eyes, there was no need to rush.
The fleet wasn't going anywhere, and no matter when they arrived, victory was already guaranteed.
After all, they were gods.
What could mere mortals do?
Above the clouds, a fleet of steel warships soared through the sky.
The massive flying ships from the other continent were colossal each nearly the size of a small island.
Gathered together, they cast an enormous shadow over the land below, creating an overwhelming sense of pressure.
Inside every ship, dozens of crew members worked in perfect coordination, managing various operational systems.
Additionally, each vessel carried a number of specialists not just skilled operators but also powerful combat personnel.
In total, White Cloud City had deployed over ten thousand elite forces for this mission.
Not only were they all experts, with the weakest at Soul Sage rank, but they were also highly intelligent and well trained in administration.
Their goal was clear after eliminating any resistance, they would immediately take control of Douluo Two.
Though this continent had been stunted in its development due to suppression from the Divine Realm and further crippled by the toxic influence of Shrek Academy it was still rich in natural resources.
Its civilization and societal structures were laughably backward compared to Douluo One.
But that also meant that its resources remained largely untapped.
This made Douluo Two an ideal supply base for nurturing new talents in Douluo One.
Furthermore, conquering this continent was essential for achieving planetary unification.
With the two landmasses separated by an ocean, each occupying half of the planet, the question was simple
Who would rule the world?
A confrontation between the two continents was inevitable.
White Cloud City was merely accelerating the process.
Douluo Two had already been weakened by endless internal conflicts and wars.
To the invaders, their self destructive fighting was utterly moronic.
So why not put an end to it themselves?
With their overwhelming advantage, the battle would be swift, minimizing unnecessary bloodshed.
From their perspective this was a mercy.
