Chapter 493 - Chapter 493: Everything We Do Is Justice!

Chapter 493: Everything We Do Is Justice!

Douluo Two was a continent constantly embroiled in war, where dark soul masters roamed unchecked, committing massacres and wiping out entire clans as if it were an everyday occurrence.

And all of this was inextricably tied to Tang San.

One of Tang San's two divine positions was that of the God of Shura a god of chaos, slaughter, and inherent evil. Otherwise, why would he bear the name Shura?

Because of this, war, disorder, and killing were sources of energy for him, nourishing his power. If the world were at peace, devoid of war and slaughter, he would have no way to draw sustenance from it.

So the one who most desired the world to be in chaos was none other than this so called righteous hypocrite Tang San.

In the Divine Realm, he might not have been able to keep other worlds in a constant state of war, but Douluo was different. Since he had ascended from Douluo, the world was naturally classified as his domain.

This was an unspoken rule of the Divine Realm.

While Tang San couldn't act completely without restraint in Douluo, as long as he wasn't too blatant so much so that others could gather concrete evidence against him the other God Kings would turn a blind eye.

After all, Divine Realm laws were set by the five God Kings themselves.

If a God King broke the rules, only the other God Kings could punish them.

But as colleagues who had to see each other every day, they generally avoided making things difficult for one another unless absolutely necessary.

Unless Tang San went too far so far that the entire Divine Realm was forced to take notice the most he would face was a symbolic punishment.

Perhaps a short confinement.

Maybe a small reduction in his monthly divine energy share.

But for a God King, such punishments were meaningless.

Compared to his crimes, the cost was insignificant.

It was blatantly unjust.

Just like how that old fool Xuanzi from Shrek had caused the deaths of multiple talented students, yet his "punishment" was nothing more than a light scolding and a short period of reflection.

Was that fair?

If the souls of those dead students could still speak, they would probably want to tear him apart and devour his very essence.

A world so full of chaos, corruption, and twisted human ideology where the strong preyed on the weak at every turn was an abomination in the eyes of those from White Cloud City, who had received a proper, advanced education.

This world was fundamentally wrong.

A backward and ignorant civilization that needed to be corrected.

Only White Cloud City could bring true prosperity to this world.

Only they could set it on the right path.

Thus, for the fleet's invasion of Douluo Two, none of them felt the slightest guilt.

They were absolutely convinced everything they were doing was righteous!

As the fleet officially entered Douluo Two, the airships began to disperse, heading toward the major factions detailed in their intelligence.

The plan was simple: break the leadership first.

Once the ruling forces were subdued, the rest of the continent would inevitably follow.

Among them, the ship carrying Zhu Zhuqing and the others was heading straight for Shrek Academy.

"I never expected that trash academy founded by Flender to survive for ten thousand years in this world," Ning Rongrong said with some amusement. "And it even became the so called number one academy on the continent."

"Yeah," Zhu Zhuqing agreed, her voice laced with irony. "I still remember when we enrolled there for a while."

Huo Wu, sitting nearby, raised an eyebrow.

"You enrolled? But why did you leave?"

Considering that in this world, Shrek Academy had grown into the continent's greatest institution and had endured for millennia, she assumed that even if things were a little different between worlds, there must have been some level of merit to the school.

Otherwise, how could it have lasted this long?

"I mean," Shui Bing'er added, "I heard that Shrek only nurtures 'monsters' that they have some real ability."

Both Huo Wu and Shui Bing'er turned to Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing, eager for an answer.

At that, Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing exchanged glances, their expressions turning odd, as if they didn't know whether to laugh or sigh.

In the end, Ning Rongrong spoke first.

"Don't be fooled by that trash academy's slogan."

"'Only monsters are taught here' that's just a fancy way of saying 'we only accept prodigies.'" Ning Rongrong scoffed. "I was deceived by that slogan myself. Seeing their strict enrollment requirements, I thought they must have some real skill."

"But once I actually enrolled, I realized…"

She trailed off.

Huo Wu and Shui Bing'er leaned in.

"Realized what?" they asked in unison.

Only after seeing their eager expressions did Ning Rongrong nod in satisfaction and continue.

"Shrek's admission criteria required students to be under twelve years old with a soul power level of at least twenty one. Back then, that was basically unheard of. It piqued my curiosity I figured, if they dared to set such high standards, they must have some special training methods, right?

"So I applied.

"And then…"

She shook her head, looking utterly exasperated.

Before the two could ask further, she continued.

"After enrolling, I realized this 'academy' was a joke. They didn't even have a real campus just a few rented houses in some random village."

"Their 'teaching' was nothing but running laps every day. Or going to the Soul Arena to fight."

"That's it."

Huo Wu and Shui Bing'er blinked.

"…That's all?"

"That's all." Ning Rongrong rolled her eyes.

"I thought their strict admissions meant they had some unique cultivation techniques. But they didn't. No secret methods, no cutting edge soul tools, not even a proper training ground. They didn't even have a simulated combat zone. And the food? Just plain buns and pickled vegetables."

"At that point, I finally understood.

"They weren't an actual academy.

"They were just fishing casting a wide net to recruit naive, talented kids.

"If one or two of them became prodigies, they could ride that success to fame.

"And if they died? Oh well, just keep recruiting."

Huo Wu and Shui Bing'er were speechless.

"Look, I wouldn't have had a problem with that if they actually had something to offer if they had some kind of advantage over other schools.

"But they didn't.

"So why the hell would I stay?"

Ning Rongrong huffed, crossing her arms.

"After I left, I had people investigate.

"Turns out, in twenty years of operation, Shrek had recruited around thirty students.

"Guess how many graduated?"

She paused, then answered before they could guess.

"One."

"Just one."

"The rest?" Ning Rongrong sneered.

"They either died while hunting soul beasts…

"…or exploded because they absorbed the wrong spirit rings.

"The mortality rate and dropout rate were insane."

Huo Wu and Shui Bing'er were completely stunned.

"This is the 'number one academy' of the continent?!"

Only now did they understand why Shrek had lasted so long.

It had nothing to do with teaching ability.

It was just dumb luck.

They had happened to recruit a few geniuses who later became gods.

That alone had built their reputation.

Had those few students not succeeded, the Shrek Academy of this world would have been no different from theirs a failure that collapsed in obscurity.
