Chapter 394: A Laughable Betrayal and the Calm Demise of a God
Bibi Dong was well aware that Yu Xiaogang harbored hatred toward her. Even without the perception abilities granted by the Rakshasa Domain, she had enough self awareness to understand that.
At this moment, Yu Xiaogang undoubtedly wanted to kill her she had a feeling about it.
But even if she could choose again, she would still save him.
Her feelings for Yu Xiaogang were complicated, but one thing was certain she absolutely did not want to see him die before her eyes.
When she saw the glinting object in Yu Xiaogang's hand, she recognized it immediately.
A sleeve dart.
She had seen them before. They were first introduced by Tang San, and after Han Li dealt with him, he had even shared a batch with the Martial Soul Research Institute. As the Pope, she naturally knew about them. However, these so called hidden weapons posed little real threat to soul masters, so she had never taken them seriously.
So when she noticed Yu Xiaogang's actions, she deliberately pretended not to see.
Let him vent.
After all, she was wearing divine armor. Even if she weren't, that thing couldn't break through her defenses.
That's what she thought, and that's exactly what she did even adjusting her posture so he could aim directly at her heart.
On the opposite side, Han Li was struggling to hold back his laughter.
Classic Bibi Dong. The dedication to simping is unmatched. But are you really not going to regret this?
Han Li was genuinely afraid he would burst out laughing. So, just a second ago, when it looked like he was about to take on Bibi Dong's attack head on, he suddenly took a step back.
Yes, just one step but in that step, he activated spatial laws.
Did she really think he hadn't noticed her using Eternal Wound? He was someone who had comprehended the power of Destruction itself.
A crucial point: before becoming gods, soul masters' spirit rings granted skills that were essentially fragmented pieces of divine laws. The ability of Eternal Wound was formed from fragments of Destruction.
So no matter how well Bibi Dong tried to hide it, Han Li could see through it instantly.
And even if he hadn't mastered Destruction, as a reincarnator, he knew about her Spider Emperor Clone and Eternal Wound they were among her most famous abilities.
As a professional opportunist, there was no way he would fall for something so obvious.
Why take the hit when he could just dodge?
No matter how weak Bibi Dong was compared to him, she was still an incomplete level God King. He wasn't about to make some dumb mistake like getting cocky and getting counter killed. The smart move was to stay at peak condition for whatever came next.
With just that single step, he instantly opened a thousand meter gap between them.
Bibi Dong hesitated for only a fraction of a second before immediately pivoting again she had to escape.
But her escape wouldn't be so simple.
She hadn't expected Han Li to possess spatial abilities he had never shown them before.
Good news: she could temporarily break free.
Bad news: truly escaping had just become significantly harder.
Still, she had torn open a gap. She was gambling that Han Li hadn't mastered spatial laws, and that he was simply using a soul bone ability. After all, the teleporting rabbit had fallen into his hands if he had absorbed a 100,000 year old soul beast as his eighth ring, it would make sense.
With that in mind, she kept a close eye on Han Li's movements and didn't dare to cancel the upkeep of Eternal Wound.
From her perspective, Han Li had sensed danger and backed off she needed to maintain pressure.
Meanwhile, behind her, Qian Renxue withdrew the Angelic Sacred Sword from the Spider Emperor Clone. The clone hadn't been able to delay her for long.
Then, as if seeing something amusing, she suddenly laughed.
Not just her Han Li laughed too.
In Bibi Dong's eyes, their smiles were identical. She had no idea which one had influenced the other.
"What are they laughing at?"
And then Han Li snapped his fingers.
A crisp, almost casual sound.
Yet in this moment, it was inexplicably eerie.
Bibi Dong stopped moving.
Then, she heard something heavy hit the ground.
Yu Xiaogang had slipped from her grasp.
He fell to the ground.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Lying there, Yu Xiaogang let out the most cathartic laugh of his life tears streamed down his face as he rolled on the ground, laughing hysterically.
He pulled himself up, his laughter still uncontrollable.
With his left hand clutching his stomach and his right hand pointing at Bibi Dong, he sneered, "Bibi Dong, surprised? It was me! And wasn't it you who said we should take revenge?"
Following his gaze, Bibi Dong finally lowered her eyes.
A crystalline sleeve dart was embedded in her chest, piercing her purple divine armor.
Frost spread from the wound, centered around her heart.
That was why she had stopped moving.
And in front and behind her stood two figures Han Li and Qian Renxue.
Han Li was in front, holding an ice blade.
The blade had already been driven deep into her chest.
If one could see through her body, they would find that the tip of the blade had a dragon shaped hilt, coiling around a violet red rhombus shaped gem.
Behind her, Qian Renxue was in a forward lunging stance, her right hand extended.
The Angelic Sacred Sword burning with solar flames had pierced through Bibi Dong from behind, emerging from her abdomen.
One in front.
One in back.
They had impaled her like a fish skewered for roasting.
Han Li's snap had been to distract Bibi Dong.
At the exact moment he snapped his fingers, he activated spatial laws allowing him and Qian Renxue to instantly teleport right next to her.
Of course, the key factor was that the sleeve dart embedded in Bibi Dong's heart had been fired by Yu Xiaogang himself.
A standard sleeve dart wouldn't have been able to penetrate Bibi Dong's defenses. But what if the dart had been custom made by Han Li?
Forged with the power of Ice Laws, encased in conventional arrow materials, filled internally with Destruction energy, masked by Fate Laws, and further concealed with the aid of the Plane's Will it was only natural that Bibi Dong had overlooked it entirely.
The most crucial part: the dart had been fired by Yu Xiaogang himself. Bibi Dong never would have dodged.
After a brief pause, Qian Renxue and Han Li simultaneously withdrew their weapons from Bibi Dong's body.
Qian Renxue's sword strike had directly destroyed Bibi Dong's dantian, while Han Li's blade upon being pulled out took her godhood with it, completely intact.
Bibi Dong stood there in a daze. She didn't even resist.
Despite suffering such grave injuries, she wouldn't die immediately after all, she had truly ascended to godhood. However, she didn't even attempt to heal herself with what little divine power she had left, simply letting her godly body's natural regeneration keep her barely alive.
The sleeve dart remained embedded in her heart, blood dripping from its tail onto the ground.
Like a machine, she slowly turned her head to look at Yu Xiaogang, who was still laughing hysterically. Her mouth opened and closed several times, but no words came out.
"This is karma! Retribution, do you understand? Bibi Dong, the moment you killed my father and wiped out my clan, you should have expected this day to come!"
"And you really thought I ever liked you? You're an idiot, the biggest fool of all! So, how does it feel to be stabbed through the heart by your own daughter? Hahahaha!"
"You damn "
Yu Xiaogang continued laughing and mocking her, his voice dripping with hatred.
Seeing Bibi Dong impaled by Qian Renxue's sword, watching the sleeve dart he fired pierce her heart, witnessing her dazed and broken expression it filled him with immense satisfaction. The excruciating pain he had endured from the poison was now fully transformed into pure schadenfreude.
"You're getting a bit noisy."
Han Li's voice rang out. A white flash appeared at Yu Xiaogang's throat, slicing across in an instant.
His voice was abruptly cut off.
His hands instinctively clutched at his throat, feeling the warmth of his own blood Han Li had slit it open.
To Han Li, Yu Xiaogang had no reason to remain alive. He didn't mind that he had attacked Bibi Dong, but the moment he involved Qian Renxue, it became unacceptable. This worthless fool was as idiotic as ever.
With everything already settled, Yu Xiaogang's existence was no longer necessary. If someone had to play the villain, Han Li didn't mind taking on the role.
Another heavy thud echoed as Yu Xiaogang's body collapsed.
His face was frozen in disbelief.
Why?
It was all over. He thought he could live.
Bibi Dong's body swayed unsteadily. Instinctively, she tried to step forward and catch him, but after lifting her foot, she simply set it back down.
At that moment, she realized something she wasn't as devastated as she had expected.
A mere few seconds ago, this man had been humiliating her as much as possible.
It was his dart that had led to her downfall.
She raised her hands and stared at them blankly for a while, then hesitated to turn around and look at Qian Renxue.
After a long silence, she lifted her right hand, grabbed the sleeve dart's tail, and yanked it out, tossing it aside. The movement caused her body to collapse backward, hitting the ground with a heavy thud, kicking up clouds of dust.
As the dust settled, her vision was filled with Han Li and Qian Renxue standing before her.
She turned her head slightly toward Han Li, a look of uncharacteristic tranquility in her eyes.
"Do you think I'm pathetic?"
"Yes."
Han Li nodded without hesitation. Just because she was dying didn't mean he would suddenly grow merciful he wasn't a saint.
"Heh... will Nana be affected by this?"
Bibi Dong let out a soft chuckle before continuing.
"She will, but not much. I have no interest in dealing with her. The rest, I don't care."
Han Li answered honestly.
"That's good. Do me a favor give this to her. She won't come after you."
Bibi Dong removed a ring from her hand and used her divine power to send it toward Han Li.
"Alright."
Han Li accepted it without hesitation.
"Yue Guan and Gui... never mind, you have a good relationship with them."
Bibi Dong started speaking but cut herself off halfway.
"How should I die to benefit you the most?"
She asked again.
"Go up there. Make a firework out of it."
Han Li pointed to the sky, showing no discomfort in discussing her impending death.
"One last question why?"
"Maybe you just had bad luck. And you weren't very smart."
Her question had no clear context, and Han Li's answer was just as ambiguous.
Yet Bibi Dong laughed.
"Send me off, then? But don't be the one to do it."
"Alright."
Moments later, high above the battlefield, a faint red glow appeared.
Then, a massive explosion of violet red light erupted across the sky, tearing black cracks into space itself.
Across the continent, everyone felt a shudder deep in their souls.
Until the very end, she never spoke a word to Qian Renxue.
