Chapter 398: I, Han Li, Ascend to Godhood Today! The Birth of the God of Fate!

Poseidon ran away!

Originally, his plan had been to stay in the Divine Realm for a while after passing on his godhood to Ye LingLing, strengthening his connections and perhaps even finding a companion for future adventures. Of course, running into Asura would have been even better after all, giving up one's godhood temporarily weakened one's strength. But staying in the Divine Realm to recover wasn't a great option either.

Among the gods he could interact with, Rong Nianbing was the strongest, but that guy had no plans to leave anytime soon. And even if he did, he'd be bringing his entire family, so Poseidon, as an outsider, wouldn't really fit in.

As just a First Class God, long term survival outside the Divine Realm was still risky. So, if he could find a solid safety net, why wouldn't he?

At first, he was a little disappointed. Asura hadn't made a move, so Poseidon figured he might as well stay and fully recover his strength before setting out.

But then, before he had even fully turned his attention away, he saw Asura give up his own godhood.

In that instant, his disappointment turned to pure delight. His early investments? They weren't just paying off they were making him rich.

One of the future rulers of the Divine Realm? Asura had been meant to keep his godhood, yet he still gave it up. That meant Poseidon had actually gained two extra favors two valuable connections in addition to his original plans. And as far as Han Li was concerned? Well, he was already aware of the situation.

More than a dozen gods aligned with Han Li, all naturally favoring him. Even if Poseidon wanted to return to the Divine Realm in the future, he'd already secured himself a strong alliance.

And then, just as he was mentally strategizing how to deepen his ties with Asura, Han Li threw yet another massive surprise his way.

He outright flipped the table on the Five Divine Kings, going all in after swallowing all the benefits.

And the next thing Poseidon knew? His connection to Douluo Star was completely cut off.

He tried reaching out several times but got nothing. Then, as if to confirm just how serious things had gotten, he saw all Five Divine Kings mobilize at once.

Yeah. This was huge.

Without a second thought, he gathered his things and bailed.

This had nothing to do with him. His godhood transfer was already complete why the hell would he stick around?

That said, he didn't run too far. Once everything was over, he planned to return and assess the situation. He had deliberately left a few loose ends at his temple.

After briefly interacting with Han Li a few times, Poseidon had realized something: they were the same type of person.

If Han Li dared to pull something like this, then he must have been prepared. So Poseidon was happy to wait and observe.

If either side won, it wouldn't affect him much.

If Han Li won, Poseidon had already built goodwill with him there'd be plenty of benefits.

If the Divine Realm won, then worst case, he'd just keep working a little longer. Besides, Asura had also passed on his godhood there was no way they could blame Poseidon alone.

As for actually siding with someone? Poseidon never even considered it. In his mind, blindly choosing a side was stupid. Sorry, but he only stood with the winner.

In terms of rewards? In the Divine Realm, a First Class God was already the highest one could aim for. Becoming a Divine King or beyond wasn't something effort alone could achieve. Neither side could offer him better benefits.

So why would he risk his life for them? He wasn't some loyal fool.

Han Li, of course, was unaware of Poseidon's antics.

Even if he knew, he wouldn't have cared.

The Sea God was never someone to rely on. If things were going well, sure, he'd be around. But if things got tough? He'd be the first one out the door.

Even if Poseidon swore an oath, Han Li wouldn't trust him.

Right now, he was busy.

Unlike Gu Yue, who was merely restoring her God King status and refining her pre existing laws, Han Li's ascension was completely new a massive leap forward.

If not for the support of the planetary consciousness, even inheriting just Asura's godhood would have placed immense pressure on him.

Unlike the other divine laws, Han Li hadn't studied Asura's inheritance as deeply, nor had he inherited it through a formal godly trial like the others.

Asura had never planned to let him reach full power immediately. This was a force fed inheritance, and though Han Li's divine soul could handle it, it was far from pleasant.

But that didn't mean he was unprepared.

His greatest trump card was the Law of Fate.

He had no interest in the nonsense of "dual godhood." That was just a half baked gimmick.

Divine power itself had no inherent attributes what abilities one displayed depended entirely on the divine laws one chose to wield.

Honestly, Han Li strongly suspected that this whole "dual godhood" nonsense was a major reason why Tang San had become so batshit insane by the time of Soul Land II.

A perfectly normal person, simultaneously wielding both the Sea God's and Asura God's divine laws? Constantly switching between the two? That's basically engineered schizophrenia. How could that ever be considered a healthy godhood structure?

The other Divine Kings all mastered multiple laws alongside their primary supreme law, yet none of them ended up as unhinged as Tang San.

So from the start, Han Li had planned everything very carefully.

His core divine law the backbone of his godhood would only ever be Fate.

Everything else would be secondary.

After all, everything he had achieved so far had been thanks to his mastery of Fate. If he suddenly veered into a completely different domain, that would be the true stupidity.

His fusion of Destruction and Creation was something he had personally comprehended there was zero internal conflict.

But Asura's and Rakshasa's divine laws? Those were a bit trickier to incorporate…

But it was only a bit difficult otherwise, why would he have chosen to ascend to godhood here in the Slaughter City? Wasn't it because a certain "predecessor" had already set an example for him? Their conflicts had nothing to do with Han Li, but as long as they were useful, that was enough.

Time ticked by, and the twin blades, now renamed Two Extremes, had fully absorbed both Asura and Rakshasa's powers. Han Li exhaled in relief.

As weapons bound to his soul, he could sense that the blades were stuffed, but as long as they could hold it in, it didn't matter.

Now, it was time to take the final step.

"Help me stabilize this place. Don't let it be destroyed."

Han Li turned to the three girls. With three gods present, maintaining stability would be more than enough.

"Mm, but… Han Li, wait a moment."

After responding, Xiu'er flew toward him.

After ascending to godhood, the once earthbound Bear Maiden could finally soar freely in the sky.

"Uh, okay."

Han Li was momentarily stunned but instinctively leaned toward her. He didn't know what she wanted to do, but he didn't mind a brief delay.

"This will only take a moment."

As he looked at her in confusion, Xiu'er smiled and pulled out a small brush. With her left hand, she gently held his head, while her right hand used the brush to place a small mark on his forehead.

"All done."

In less than three seconds, she finished and drifted back, admiring Han Li with satisfaction.

"…Heh."

Han Li chuckled. He didn't need a mirror to know what had changed.

Xiu'er had marked a small red dot on his forehead, just like the day ten years ago when he had awakened his martial soul.

That day, she had blessed him.

That day, he awakened an unprecedented fusion type martial soul.

And today, he was ascending to godhood.

Last time, they had been hidden away in his room.

This time, they stood before the entire world.

"Don't worry, Xiu'er. With your blessing, I will definitely succeed."

Up in the sky, within the golden heavenly projection, a young man with a red mark on his forehead, radiant and elegant, stood unbothered, openly displaying his affections before all.

Only when he flashed his brilliantly confident smile did people suddenly remember he was only seventeen years old.

"Mm."

A gentle voice whispered from outside the projection.

And at the heart of the projection, clad in divine armor, the young god to be soared into the sky.

A soft red glow surrounded Han Li's body, growing fainter as he ascended. Then, suddenly, a golden pillar of light erupted from him, piercing through the sky, scattering the clouds.

As the light pillar reached a certain height, it seemed to collide with something, and then

BOOM!

The golden light suddenly expanded outward, spreading in all directions.

No matter where they were on the continent, anyone who looked up could see golden threads cascading from the sky like a thousand scattered stars, showering the world in starlight.

Even though a silver white dragon still roamed the heavens, at this moment, she had become the backdrop.

"Law of Fate, manifest."

At some point, Han Li's figure vanished from the projection, leaving only the golden threads dancing in the void.

"Power of Destruction, Power of Creation, manifest."

Another voice echoed. Two opposing orbs of energy appeared one representing annihilation, the other genesis twisting together as they rushed toward the golden net.

"Power of Asura, Power of Rakshasa, manifest."

On the ground below, the twin blades that Han Li had embedded into the earth hummed with power, carrying the aura of Slaughter City as they shot into the sky.

As they neared the golden web, the two blades merged midair, shedding the last traces of their gray aura before transforming into a massive bow, gleefully vibrating as it was enveloped by golden threads then vanished.

"The Seven Elements, heed my command!"

"Evil God's Orb, fuse!"

Two more voices rang out.

From nowhere, a rainbow colored river roared into existence, streaking across the sky.

Above it, a small gray orb hovered quietly both floating before the golden net.

At that moment, Han Li reappeared within the web, standing before the gathering forces.

Behind him, four interlocking rings spun in harmony divine, sacred, absolute.

"Fate as my foundation."

"Faith as my flame."

"All laws as my fuel."

"Today, I, Han Li, ASCEND TO GODHOOD!"

"Godhood CONGEAL!"

As Han Li spoke his final word, the entire projection was consumed in golden fire.

One second.

Two seconds.

Three seconds.

Across the continent, all who watched felt their breathing quicken.

For reasons they could not explain, they felt as if their hearts were pulsing in rhythm with the golden flames.

Then

WHOOSH!

All the golden flames rushed toward the center, spiraling inward.

And from within the fire, a figure emerged.

His face carried a soft smile.

His gaze swept across the world.

He stepped forward.

And spoke

"It's done."

His voice rang in the ears of every living being.

And at that moment, the TENTH divine proclamation of the day echoed through the heavens.

"Fate… shall walk with you."
