The kitten hopped into his hands and immediately flopped on her back, demanding belly rubs.
Damon indulged her. "Yes yes, my fluffy queen. Papa loves you. Papa will give you the best life. Papa will- owww- okay, not the claws, little demon."
Damon was a little surprised that the tiny claws actually hurt. His skin was after all extremely tough and a little furball like this shouldn't be able to do anything. Even high-tier monsters couldn't pierce his defenses so casually.
The kitten purred louder, rubbing her face into his palm in apology.
"It's okay. It's okay. Papa will power up soon and then you can scratch me up to your heart's content." Damon chuckled and rubbed her belly some more before he decided to get back to work again. But suddenly a parchment appeared in his hands.
"Hmmm?"
Meow. The kitten proudly poked the parchment with her claw.
