Chapter 499 - Chapter 641-645

Chapter 641: Battle of the Ancestors

Ye Wen slowly opened his eyes, revealing a pair that, though ordinary in appearance, seemed to contain the very principles of creation and destruction.

"Though I intended to lure them out, catching five of the big ones at once... it appears the Celestial Demon civilization is not as simplistic as they appear. They must have infiltrated our ranks, stealing information with some highly specialized methods."

Ye Wen stood up, exuding an air of calm strength.

"Though each of you may be monstrous in strength, don't underestimate me the strongest of Douluo!"

With that, he vanished from sight, and the silent void of the cosmos soon burst into a kaleidoscope of dazzling, fierce energy. The crew aboard the Hanhai stood in reverent silence, bowing their heads toward the battlefield before swiftly maneuvering the ship away. They had not detected any threat of betrayal among their own; rather, the intensity of the clash between such colossal powers would likely exceed even their ship's defenses.

The battlefield had quickly transformed into a chaotic arena of destruction. Ye Wen, having mastered the mysteries of space, shattered it effortlessly with every move, leaving deep, gaping tears in the fabric of reality an instant death sentence to any ordinary god.

However, these Celestial Demon Ancestors were no ordinary adversaries.

From his initial strikes, Ye Wen had discerned the rankings of their hierarchy. Within the Celestial Demon civilization, only those who reached the strength of high priests were bestowed the title of "Celestial Demon Emissaries." At the third god level, they became "Celestial Demons," then "Grand Celestial Demons" at the second god level, "Celestial Demon Lords" at the first god level, and, at the pinnacle of godhood, the supreme rank of "Celestial Demon Ancestor."

These Ancestors could each establish their own bloodline clan a terrifying feat. Though the civilization counted only ten such Ancestors, their power lay not just in strange abilities but also in their ability to fight effectively against opponents of far higher ranks.

This resilience was why, even with newly developed weapons, Douluo remained locked in a prolonged stalemate. The Celestial Demon civilization, which drew strength from corrupting, consuming, and growing at the expense of other worlds, was highly formidable and filled with gods at all levels. If they could not devise a way to neutralize them en masse, this war would remain in perpetual deadlock.

But Ye Wen's aim was to capture a Celestial Demon Ancestor as a research specimen to develop an effective counter strategy. Yet it seemed that he was not the only one playing the hunter, as the Celestial Demons clearly understood his importance to Douluo and had sent half of their Ancestors to ambush him.

After a brief exchange of probing strikes, Ye Wen's gaze turned cold and deadly.

"Time to get serious."

Ye Wen had long since stopped using the Sea God's Trident, having moved on to an advanced, custom made weapon.

[Ultra Divine Weapon: Infinite Hanhai Blade]

With Ye Wen's command, a boundless wave of blue swords surged forth from his martial soul, filling the cosmos and casting an ethereal glow across the battlefield.

The Celestial Demon Ancestors, like their lesser kin, varied in form and carried an aura of boundless malice. However, their figures were sharper, and each had a wheel of souls a wheel of suffering and anguish hovering behind them, emitting an aura of pure malevolence.

One of the Ancestors, who bore the head of a lion, trembled as he beheld the seemingly endless torrent of blue swords and cried out, "Impossible! Each of these blades is an Ultra Divine Weapon!"

Before he could fully register his shock, the blades were upon them, raining down like meteors. The Celestial Demons, who were typically resistant to conventional divine attacks, shrieked in agony as Ye Wen's swords tore into them.

Another Ancestor, with the head of an eagle, managed to escape the onslaught and exclaimed, "Damn it! How is this Vast Sea God King's power targeting our very essence?"

Ye Wen chuckled coldly, remaining silent. He could unleash attacks that specifically targeted the Celestial Demons due to his unique constitution and abilities. However, regular gods could not replicate such a feat on this scale, which was precisely why capturing the Celestial Demons alive was essential to further his research and create tools that could be widely distributed among his forces.

The five Ancestors, worthy of their rank, soon adapted and either evaded or blocked Ye Wen's attacks, demonstrating their battle hardened resilience. Ye Wen, seizing the moment, prepared to unleash his Domain, intending to lock them within his own realm.

Yet just as he was about to seal them in, an insidious pulse of energy struck from behind.

"Shura's Judgment!"

The strike was hauntingly familiar, swift and silent. Before he could react, the attack pierced straight through his heart, sending a wave of blinding pain through him. But, trained by countless battles, Ye Wen immediately retaliated, expelling a burst of repulsive energy that knocked the attacker back.

The weapon, still embedded in his chest, flew out as well. But it was little comfort; his body was now tainted by an invasive, corrosive energy.

"So this is the Ancestors' level of negative energy? Quite the potent attack," Ye Wen muttered. "But just an Ancestor's worth of negativity isn't enough to bring me down."

With a flash of the Time Pearl in his left hand, his injuries instantly healed. However, something far more pressing now occupied his mind: that attack had been shockingly familiar.

In his years dominating this universe, only two beings had ever wielded that same judgmental energy two beings who, in fact, were the same person, both of whom he had personally slain.

Ye Wen narrowed his gaze, now sharp and dangerous, as he turned to face his assailant.

Chapter 642: The Ten Thousand Year War

Though the figure before him was faceless due to the unique traits of the Celestial Demon race, Ye Wen could discern that this person had once possessed a human head. And then, there was that unmistakable technique.

Ye Wen spoke coldly, "I thought maybe you'd been killed off by some powerful being while roaming the universe, but it turns out you traveled far, became an Ancestor of the Celestial Demon civilization quite impressive, I suppose. Once the God King of the Douluo Divine Realm, Shura."

True to his ruthlessness, Shura God King raised his Shura Demon Sword, pointing it directly at Ye Wen. This gesture alone made his intentions clear.

Ye Wen suppressed his irritation, looking at his former enemy with a calm focus. Though Shura might be unaware of his transformation, Ye Wen knew that once a Celestial Demon transformation ritual was complete, a demon's memory would remain intact, yet subtly altered. And as Shura had always been Ye Wen's enemy, there would be no hesitation or mercy now.

The other five Celestial Demon Ancestors, already engaged with Ye Wen, also brandished their super magical weapons, preparing to attack in unison. Shura God King turned to address the others.

"No matter what your motives are, do not hold back any longer. If we fail this mission, I will report it to the Holy Ancestor for your punishment. And don't be fooled by his illusion just now this guy only has one real Ultra Divine Weapon. Those millions of blades are mere temporary constructs with limited effect, meant only to distract. We must risk injury for a decisive strike to eliminate this greatest threat to our Celestial Demon civilization."

The other five Celestial Demon Ancestors exchanged glances, finally nodding reluctantly. The mention of the Holy Ancestor clearly inspired fear.

Ye Wen smirked, noting that his tactics had been seen through. But that was only to be expected from a former God King who had come closest to reaching the Supreme God King level. Sensing Shura's power, he could tell that Shura had not reached the 150th level but had achieved 149, the pinnacle of ordinary God Kings. And yet, Ye Wen couldn't shake the feeling that Shura was capable of breaking through to 150, though held back by some invisible shackle.

Before he could dwell on it, the battle erupted once more.

Even alone, each Celestial Demon Ancestor had a power level comparable to Douluo's highest ranking God Kings. Shura, though still at level 149, had gained additional power as a Celestial Demon, making him as dangerous as any Supreme God King. With all six of them in unison, Ye Wen found himself forced into a defensive stance, handling one chaotic assault after another.

It was time for him to unleash his full strength.

With a swift, calculated maneuver, Ye Wen pushed his control over his weapon to the limit, holding one of the many Hanhai Infinite Blades in his hand. In an instant, every copy of the blade surrounding them disappeared, concentrating all their power into the one blade in his grip, which now radiated an overwhelming, terrifying energy.

Ye Wen grinned slightly, murmuring in a voice barely audible, "You better not die too quickly..."

"Supreme Super Divine Skill: Severing Space!"

With a single swing of the Hanhai Infinite Blade, an unbroken arc of energy spanned out, forming a cycle of endless space, tearing through every inch of the surrounding cosmos for millions of miles. Every star and planet within range fell silent, as though existence itself held its breath.

The Celestial Demon Ancestors, if they'd had eyes, would surely have widened them in terror. Never before had they seen such a monstrous move, despite their years of unchecked domination across the universe. But they couldn't have known that Ye Wen's technique had been forged by merging both space and time a profound understanding of the universe that transcended even cause and effect.

As the power of Severing Space subsided, all six Ancestors were left gravely wounded, riddled with innumerable cuts that covered their forms. Had they been flesh and blood, the scene would have been horrifyingly gruesome.

Without a moment's pause, Ye Wen raised the Hanhai Infinite Blade again, channeling a massive burst of positive energy into the weapon to target the negative energy that comprised the demons. He was prepared to end it all, especially Shura.

But at the last moment, Shura, the most powerful of the Ancestors, tore open a dimensional rift and escaped with blinding speed.

Even Ye Wen was caught off guard by the sheer swiftness of the move, leaving him momentarily stunned.

"Impressive," Ye Wen muttered. "Even after being corrupted by the Celestial Demon race, he still retains such incredible resilience. Shura God King, you remain as difficult as ever."

Yet after this fight, Ye Wen had a clear understanding of Shura's limits. He was strong, but not strong enough to surpass Ye Wen, who would only continue to grow in strength. Shura was a foe he could give some time to, allowing him to try to catch up only to leave him far behind once again.

Turning back to the battlefield, Ye Wen gathered up the remaining five defeated Celestial Demon Ancestors. The fishing expedition had been a success.

As for the possibility of Shura retaliating against his family? Ye Wen wasn't concerned. Should Shura dare to return, Ye Wen would unleash his full wrath across time and space, ensuring there would be no next time.

The victory boosted morale across Douluo Civilization, bringing new energy and hope. With the valuable research material provided by the five captured Celestial Demon Ancestors, Douluo quickly developed large scale anti Celestial Demon weapons. Once again, Douluo Civilization marched forward toward a brighter future.

However, it became clear that the Celestial Demon Ancestors were unlike ordinary Celestial Demons. While ordinary demons were little more than wild dogs seeking prey wherever they could, the Ancestors were old foxes strategic and calculating. After Ye Wen's 1v6 encounter, the Ancestors seemed to lose their arrogance, and though the war continued for millennia, none of the Ancestors reappeared. Their absence made the Celestial Demon Civilization's leadership appear mysteriously distant, as if they'd abandoned the rest of their kind.

Though Douluo's gods were content to gradually overtake Celestial Demon territory, Ye Wen remained vigilant, never underestimating his foes. His careful leadership had always kept Douluo moving forward, winning one victory after another.

Thus, Ye Wen chose not to go on any more expeditions, instead creating copies of himself to explore alternate timelines and gather insights. Simultaneously, he reinforced Douluo Star's defenses and prepared himself for the next encounter with the unknown.

Chapter 643: Shura's Past

I am the Shura God King, once one of the Five Great God Kings of the Douluo Divine Realm and one of the rare Three Law Enforcement Gods. Born with a powerful drive, I still found myself falling short among the Five God Kings, unable to break into the top three. This left me deeply troubled.

But when I considered the other God Kings who ranked above me, I understood that some things couldn't simply be forced. I had been stuck at the high level God King stage for thousands of years, with no breakthrough in sight, and in this stagnant Divine Realm, no spark of inspiration would appear. Time seemed to slip away little by little.

With immortality came the loss of any sense of time, and as a God King, I became numb to destiny's constraints. Perhaps one day, like my predecessors, the Gods of Good and Evil, I would abandon my godhood and enter the endless cycle of reincarnation, seeking fulfillment elsewhere.

That was until I encountered a soul from across the distant reaches of the stars.

Although the world from which this soul came was weak, it showed me an entirely new possibility. In that moment, my heart stirred.

Before, I'd thought of venturing into the vast universe like other gods had, abandoning my godhood in search of a new life. But the universe was filled with unknown dangers even one as powerful as I dared not wander recklessly. So I hesitated.

Yet, looking at myself now, I knew I was no longer a lowly First or Second Level God but a God King at the highest level the Douluo Universe allowed. I was not the strongest but certainly strong enough to protect myself.

However, I remained cautious, leaving behind a failsafe. I planned to have this soul from beyond the stars inherit my godhood and become my representative in the Douluo Divine Realm a tether to ensure I wouldn't lose myself in the endless cosmos. This soul, though weak in his previous life, possessed remarkable talent and intellect, qualities I deemed worthy of inheriting my godhood.

So, I paved a path for him in secret. His arrival had reignited my own spirit.

Yet, reality dealt me a harsh blow. Under the laws of the Divine Realm, even a God King couldn't overtly favor his successor. Ultimately, this outsider, named Tang San, met his end on the Douluo Continent, and I lost control over my godhood. Though it pained me that the godhood I'd created no longer belonged to me, I, Shura, was a pragmatic god. The enmity between us was set, and I couldn't remain in this Douluo Divine Realm any longer.

So I left. Let these new "geniuses" waste their time here, as I once did, confined within this Divine Realm that offered nothing but despair. As for backup plans in case of danger in the vast cosmos, I had plenty. I, Shura, would never meet my end in the exploration of the universe.

The universe was indeed a wondrous place. The 108 worlds within the Douluo Divine Realm were remarkable but minuscule compared to the trillions upon trillions of stars. The sights and knowledge I gained breathed new life into me, and at last, I touched upon the realm of the Supreme God King. Gradually, I left my past behind.

With my power grew an arrogance, an urge to revisit the Douluo Divine Realm and see what had become of the "clowns" I had left behind.

So, I began my journey back.

But upon my return, what I witnessed shattered my pride and left me questioning my place in the world. In a mere ten thousand years, the former Douluo Divine Realm had vanished, replaced by a New Douluo Divine Realm, governed by the very ones who had once been mere upstarts. Stronger than ever, the realm now held countless God Kings.

While these God Kings couldn't match the might of the original Five, their sheer numbers alone would overwhelm me. Even I, Shura, lacked the courage to face such a battle.

So I retreated, fled that cosmos.

I dared not gamble on whether these new rulers would overlook our past grudges or choose to eliminate me once and for all. After all, the Douluo Divine Realm had disappeared entirely; there was not a familiar face left.

Even in distant worlds, I couldn't escape the reach of Douluo. Wherever I went, I would eventually see ships bearing the Divine Realm's insignia, descending to conquer the stars. I stayed hidden, unwilling to draw Ye Wen's attention. Despite knowing I could effortlessly crush the minor fleets, I remained silent.

"Destruction, though you are gone, it seems your vision was fulfilled by that young upstart. The Douluo Divine Realm has indeed expanded and grown stronger. Perhaps this is simply the march of time, and an old god like me should stay out of it."

With this thought, I left for the farthest reaches of the stars.

As time went on, I felt myself being drawn into the ever changing universe, losing all sense of time and space until even I could no longer recognize my own coordinates. Surely, with the vastness of the universe, even Ye Wen would be unable to find me. Here, I was free, as vast as the ocean, as boundless as the heavens!

One day, I spotted a planet teeming with life and decided to descend for some amusement. But as I approached, I felt a peculiar disturbance.

"What a dark, chaotic energy more maddening than even my own Slaughter City." I murmured in admiration.

Though I am a God of Justice, my path of justice is enforced by bloodshed, so my journey has been one of raw order tempered with chaos. I felt no discomfort with this chaotic planet; on the contrary, it piqued my interest.

At that moment, a Celestial Demon with an unrecognizable animal's head lunged at me. I dispatched it without so much as a glance, obliterating the pitiful creature scarcely a threat to any true god with a single invisible strike.

"Fascinating," I murmured. "So this is the force corrupting this planet? A pure energy based life form."

As I thought about it, a smile crept onto my face.

"Such abilities… this kind of being… it's practically made to be my minion. It appears I've found the perfect world to create a Divine Realm of my own."

And so, I set my plan into motion.

The Celestial Demons were unintelligent, but I had ways of refining them to my advantage. For ordinary gods, facing these creatures would be a struggle, but I possessed the power of judgment a divine authority that rendered any creature vulnerable to my will.

Chapter 644: The Primordial Shura

Shura's unique powers made him oblivious to the true nature of the Celestial Demons, allowing him to subdue the chaos on this planet in under a day. While the native inhabitants instinctively began worshiping him, Shura paid them little mind; their paltry faith was insignificant.

Thus, Shura began converting his new subjects. Reaching into their souls to analyze them, he quickly noticed something troubling.

"How chaotic these minds are... and two distinct memories as well. Though clear, their clarity only drives these Celestial Demons into a frenzy of instinctual slaughter," Shura muttered. "This won't do. As my subjects, they can be fierce and bloodthirsty, but they cannot act with such recklessness. It seems I'll have to spend some time restructuring their consciousness."

No sooner had Shura begun to rewrite their minds than the Celestial Demon civilization's alarm system was triggered. Within moments, divine level Celestial Demons appeared. Though the most powerful among them was only at the level of a Tier Three God, Shura frowned as they appeared.

"So, they're the same species as the lesser ones here, but they have clearer self awareness. They aren't mindlessly acting like beasts," Shura noted.

Before him stood a Celestial Demon with the head of a serpent, watching him warily and speaking through telepathy.

"You dared to imprison members of the Jörmungandr Clan. Quite the nerve. By order of the Jörmungandr Primordial, surrender now, and we may consider allowing you to join our clan as one of us," the snake headed Celestial Demon declared.

Unfazed, Shura interrupted him. "Don't be so arrogant, you lowly god."

With his words, Shura unleashed the terrifying pressure of a God King, pinning the Celestial Demons to the ground. Stepping on the snake headed demon's head, Shura stared down at him with a cold, powerful gaze.

"Understand your place now, worm?" he sneered.

Realizing the power he faced, the Celestial Demon's eyes widened. "You… you're at the level of a Celestial Lord?! No, your strength even rivals that of our Primordials. Who are you? Why have you invaded a planet under the Celestial Demon civilization?"

Shura raised an eyebrow, picking up on something important. These Celestial Demons weren't just a small group occupying a few planets; they had the support of a larger, formidable civilization. While Shura's power was at the apex of what this universe allowed, he was wary of making enemies that could overwhelm him with sheer numbers of God Kings.

Still, he was reluctant to abandon a promising race that could serve as the foundation of a new Divine Realm.

While Shura wasn't particularly familiar with "know your enemy," he knew he needed more information on this so called Celestial Demon civilization. Raising his right hand, he attempted to read the soul of the captive Celestial Demon.

But when Shura touched the creature's soul core, he froze.

The first thing he saw was an enormous, serpentine Celestial Demon without any visible features, yet Shura felt its awareness lock onto him across billions of light years. It was a staggering power, but Shura felt confident he could defeat it.

Yet, something behind the Jörmungandr Primordial held his attention. High in the sky above, a black sun loomed like a colossal eye, focused solely on him.

Though the entity said nothing, its intent was clear.

"Capture him!"

Fear gripped Shura as he instinctively crushed the Celestial Demon in his grasp and fled, disappearing into the stars.

In the vast cosmos, countless unique cultivation systems existed, but those who achieved divinity inevitably mastered the laws unique to their realm. Though he hadn't seen the black sun's true form, Shura, who once defeated the Dragon God, sensed its aura and knew it was on par with his former nemesis.

"I have to escape! If that thing catches me, I'm dead!" Shura bolted in a blind panic.

Though he had once cut the Dragon God in two with his Shura Demon Sword, the Dragon God had gone easy on him. If it had fought him in earnest, he would have perished long ago, as he had barely been a high level God King at the time.

But his escape was fraught with obstacles. Every time Shura stopped to rest and replenish his divine power, swarms of Celestial Demons would flood the area to attack him. While at first, they were little more than cannon fodder, soon enough, Primordial level Celestial Demons joined the hunt.

From his first clash with one, Shura knew these beings were not to be underestimated; they were powerful God Kings like himself. Still, he managed to fend them off the first time.

Though he could have killed his foe given enough time, Shura's instincts warned him not to linger. Lingering meant being caught in a vortex of endless combat, which would surely end in his death. After all, this Celestial Demon wasn't the Jörmungandr Primordial; it was another. And that meant there were multiple beings of such strength within the Celestial Demon civilization.

With every encounter, Shura's fear grew. He dared not stop, aimlessly fleeing across the universe, but every time he stopped, the Celestial Demons somehow tracked him down.

Eventually, Shura realized he had been marked and was being tracked. He attempted to dispel the mark while evading capture, but within the Celestial Demons' territory, he was at a hopeless disadvantage.

Gradually, a group of Primordial Celestial Demons encircled him.

Despair settled over Shura. His godly body, it seemed, would not survive this ordeal. Yet, a powerful warrior's pride wouldn't let him submit without a fight. He prepared to unleash his ultimate move, the Shura Blood Sword, to go down in a blaze of mutual destruction.

But even then, Shura's plans went awry. The Celestial Demon civilization had never intended to kill him they wanted him alive.

Unknown to Shura, invisible threads had already woven a trap through the stars, binding him in place.

As Shura strained against his bonds, a Celestial Demon emerged from the shadows. Her lower body was shrouded in mist, while her upper body was that of an alluring woman. Yet her head was far more terrifying than the average Celestial Demon, a spider like face with eight eyes.

"Well done, Rose," murmured one of her comrades. "The Celestial Demon Primordial will reward you handsomely for this."

This was the last thing Shura heard before darkness took him.

When he awoke again, there was no trace of the Shura God King. All that remained was the Celestial Demon civilization's newest Primordial Shura, the Celestial Demon.

Chapter 645: The Invisible Corrosion

For the past ten thousand years, since the Supreme God King of the Vast Sea, Ye Wen, decisively defeated the Celestial Demon civilization and captured five of their Primordials, Douluo civilization has maintained absolute dominance over its territory. Yet, while the rank and file of Douluo's powerful figures celebrated their supremacy, Ye Wen, standing at the civilization's pinnacle, was deeply troubled.

There was something disturbingly strange about the enemy's persistence. Despite the Celestial Demon civilization's substantial loss in supreme combat strength, they continued to confront Douluo's advance. No one with common sense would recklessly waste their forces this way, not even the notoriously chaotic Celestial Demon civilization. Their shadowy ruler, the Celestial Demon Primordial, must be planning something.

Yet, with the enemy hidden and Douluo's power fully exposed, Ye Wen had no straightforward solution. He resolved to bide his time, knowing that even as the Supreme God King, he couldn't personally monitor every star and world across the endless universe. But with his mastery of parallel world traversal, he could constantly strengthen Douluo Star, as well as himself, inching closer to realms beyond known power.

With absolute strength, Ye Wen knew he could crush any schemes that came his way. However, remaining passive was not an option either. So Ye Wen decided to go on an "undercover visit" to gain insights into the lives of Douluo's people and root out any hidden threats.

Leaving behind an avatar, Ye Wen quietly slipped away.

Observing the Douluo Star from a humble perspective, he quickly noticed the stark differences between social classes. Strolling through the common areas of Douluo Star, he was reminded that human desires and corrupt tendencies persisted even amid the advances he'd ushered in. Soul Master families had grown stronger over time, gaining influence and wealth, and had unintentionally or otherwise come to dominate the space for ordinary civilians. Although Douluo Star, enriched with the essence of countless other planets, allowed for an incredible quality of life, certain people still found ways to abuse their privileges and force others to suffer for it.

In just one day, Ye Wen encountered six instances of abhorrent behavior. He promptly subdued the perpetrators and directed the victimized Soul Master girl to leave safely. With a quiet appearance cloaked in ordinary garb, Ye Wen went unrecognized, as he rarely made himself seen in mortal realms. After receiving the girl's tearful gratitude, he turned his attention back to the criminal.

This thug was a mere Soul Saint, no threat to Ye Wen, yet something about this situation felt off.

"Strange," he muttered, "to encounter so many incidents like this in a single day on Douluo Star, the heart of our civilization. This shouldn't be happening."

Ye Wen had long upheld strict laws. Minor offenses were dealt with lightly, but those involving malicious acts were met with severe punishment, with penalties including lengthy imprisonment and restrictions on cultivation. For incidents like these to emerge at this rate suggested something far more troubling at work.

Taking swift action, Ye Wen handed the six perpetrators to Douluo's enforcement gods and immediately convened the Douluo Star Council. Whether it was mere coincidence or a hidden plot, he was determined to curb the threat in its infancy. No one, no matter how crafty, would undermine Douluo's foundations under his watch.

Only those of high standing in Douluo Star could attend this council. The conference was held through projections from various locations in space, as the territory was far too vast to gather everyone physically. In total, more than a hundred God King level deities attended, each paying their highest respects to Ye Wen upon arrival.

As the founder of Douluo civilization, Ye Wen had no need for formalities. He spoke clearly, describing the troubling situations he had encountered. With a steady voice, he addressed the gods:

"The smallest of leaks can collapse a dam. Though this issue may appear minor, it represents a challenge to the laws that uphold Douluo civilization. For the sake of our world's stability, I will tolerate no lawbreaker. Thus, as Supreme God King, I command you all to set aside your current tasks and root out corruption in your domains. Cleanse Douluo, and restore its bright skies. And heed this well if I find any of you harboring lawbreakers, I will punish your families alongside them. Consider yourselves warned."

His voice carried an undeniable weight, and any gods harboring second thoughts immediately dismissed them. Though the Supreme God King had kept a distance from politics recently, none could forget that he had enacted similar purges in the past.

"Supreme God King, a terror beyond comprehension…" murmured some of the council members, who quickly nodded in agreement with his orders.

Satisfied with their cooperation, Ye Wen prepared to conclude the meeting, intending to return for another quiet exploration of the mortal world. However, a sudden chill seized him; danger loomed close.

Acting swiftly, Ye Wen moved to shield his two wives, Ah Yin and Wei Na, who were attending the council by his side. Though both were now God Kings in their own right, they were still vulnerable to certain threats, and Ye Wen would never let them face such risks unprotected.

Other wives held key positions in separate divisions across Douluo Star, while Ah Yin, his first wife, and Wei Na, representative of the Soul Beast clan, stood beside him to represent harmony within Douluo civilization. Yet just as Ye Wen finished securing them, a sharp blade pierced his chest.

Ye Wen looked down in disbelief to see the weapon protruding from him. Even with his intelligence, he could hardly believe that Wei Na had struck him. Forced to act quickly, he sent her reeling back with a powerful burst of energy, creating a temporary distance between them.

The unexpected attack stunned everyone present. What on earth had just happened?
