Chapter 545: Kal'tsit's Reason

With the deal successfully secured, everything that followed became much simpler.

Steven immediately contacted Czerny, who was far away in Kazimierz, and handed over all the remaining arrangements without hesitation. After all, what was the point of having a secretary if not for handling this kind of work?

Besides, when it came to the intricate scheming of business, Steven knew full well that he wasn't particularly skilled. Leaving the right tasks to people who excelled at them—that was what a proper boss should do.

As for his own role, it was straightforward: provide the weapons.

To him, these firearms were nothing more than items he could exchange for a handful of EMC points—hardly expensive at all. Yet in return, he was gaining something far more valuable: the goodwill of a nomadic city like Lungmen.

No matter how you looked at it, he wasn't losing out.

Profit margins didn't matter much. The real key was making a name for himself. Once his reputation spread, Kazimierz's economy would naturally find a new path forward.

Why bother with knight tournaments anymore?

What could possibly be more profitable than selling weapons across the world?

In a way, this even revitalized Kazimierz's economy—achieving something that even the K.G.C.C journalists of the past had never managed to accomplish. That alone counted as a kind of achievement.

Of course, traditional knights like Margaret would never understand his way of doing things.

After all, the arms trade, at its core, was nothing more than profiting from war.

However, now that Steven had established this trading relationship with Lungmen, his future movements within the city—and even across Yan—would become far more convenient.

From an ordinary shareholder of a medical company, he had transformed into one of Lungmen's major partners. At this point, Steven felt that even if he declared he wanted to blow up the Guard Department, Wei Yenwu might actually stop to consider it.

…Well, fortunately, he had no such plans for now.

What truly occupied Steven's thoughts was the Sankta girl currently detained in the Guard Department.

The piece of information she possessed—something that, for now, perhaps only she knew—was what truly piqued his interest.

Without hesitation, Steven hopped into Wei Yenwu's car and headed toward the Guard Department. Along the way, his mind was filled with speculation about just what kind of intriguing intel awaited him.

As for Wei Yenwu, who had been squeezed to the side, Steven didn't pay him any attention.

According to the man, he was going to help clean up some of his criminal records. But to Steven, a Minecrafter who spent more time in the middle of nowhere than in any city, whether those records existed or not didn't make any difference.

After racking his brain and still failing to recall what exactly "Zorah Alpha" referred to, Steven simply snapped his fingers and, right in front of Wei Yenwu, dialed Kal'tsit.

Others might not know anything about Mostima's intelligence. But Kal'tsit?

As the one who had assigned him this mission—and someone who claimed to know everything—there was no way she didn't have at least some information.

"What trouble have you caused this time?"

The communicator connected almost instantly, and Kal'tsit's calm, indifferent voice came through. She sounded as though she had long grown accustomed to Steven stirring up chaos—so much so that, to Wei Yenwu listening nearby, there was a faint sense of helpless resignation in her tone.

"I closed a deal, wiped out a gang of delinquents, and most importantly—got my hands on something interesting. Also, I'm on my way to obtain a rather important piece of intel."

Steven summarized his recent activities in a few simple sentences. Thinking about it, even he had to admit that his time in Lungmen had been surprisingly eventful.

Kal'tsit, on the other end, clearly hadn't expected that in less than a day, Steven's experiences had already become dramatic enough to fill an entire newspaper.

But the moment he mentioned that "important piece of intel," she immediately understood why he had contacted her.

In truth, Steven was actually quite easy to deal with.

Sure, he caused a mountain of trouble wherever he went, and the sheer absurdity of his experiences was enough to leave anyone speechless. But most of it only sounded terrifying. In reality, he almost never dragged others into his messes—he handled them himself more often than not.

There was hardly ever a need for outsiders like her to step in.

Unless… like this time, the matter itself had originated from her request. In that case, it was only natural that Steven would have questions.

"Alright, let's skip the pretense. What exactly do you want to ask?" Kal'tsit said calmly. "As for the information Mostima knows… it's true that I've kept certain things from you."

Having grown more accustomed to dealing with Steven, she had come to realize that—setting aside his unreliability—he was, in fact, dependable where it mattered.

"So what is it, exactly? And more importantly, if you knew she had such important intel, why send her to Lungmen of all places?" Steven asked bluntly, grinning with clear curiosity. "Trying to shift the trouble onto someone else? Got a grudge against Lungmen or something?"

He asked it right in front of Wei Yenwu without the slightest hesitation, looking completely unconcerned about the possibility of being kicked out of the car on the spot.

"No. Lungmen is a fine city," Kal'tsit replied flatly, ignoring his teasing tone. "Mostima's return there was her own decision. And besides… there are certain things that only that penguin can confirm."

After answering seriously, she paused for a moment—rare hesitation creeping into her voice—before adding:

"And regarding the island… I don't know the full details. More accurately, I chose not to know."

"The things on that island are not something an organization like Rhodes Island can involve itself in—not for now. If one wishes to claim a share of that 'cake,' it would require at least the major powers of this land."

"And with that comes immense risk."

"I cannot gamble the entirety of Rhodes Island on something so uncertain."

"Which is why," she continued, "the best course of action was to let her decide for herself… to pass that information to someone capable of bearing its weight."
