Chapter 593: Why Not Just Call It the Furry Detective Agency?

"I honestly thought you were just going to rob the place by force," Lin Yuhsia said suspiciously as she stood beside Steven. "But the way you're acting now, it actually looks like you seriously came here to ask for help investigating something."

In her imagination, Steven should have already skillfully pulled out that firearm he carried around, ripped a stocking off her leg, pulled it over his head, and stormed into the agency to seize whatever he wanted at gunpoint.

Yet, for some reason, this guy had obediently lined up in the queue instead.

Since when was he this polite?

"Sigh. It's called courtesy before violence," Steven replied mysteriously while wiggling his brows at her.

Then he casually lifted the corner of his shirt, revealing the grip of his beloved AK tucked underneath.

"We scout the place first," he whispered seriously. "Then we plan the robbery carefully."

"In case anything goes wrong, I'll smash a cup as the signal. You just pull your stockings over my head immediately."

He spoke with such solemn sincerity that it genuinely did not sound like a joke.

"Like hell I will!"

By now, Lin Yuhsia had unknowingly become far more familiar with him than before, so she did not hesitate to snap back immediately.

After that, she simply stopped paying attention to his nonsense.

As long as Steven did not make too much of a scene, Wei Yenwu would almost certainly ignore whatever trouble he caused anyway.

As for this Lee's Detective Agency—which had apparently been operating in Lungmen for quite a long time—Lin Yuhsia herself did not know too much about it.

Aside from the fact that the owner supposedly had some connection to her superior, she knew very little else.

But since Wei Yenwu had willingly revealed the information himself, he clearly trusted that Steven would not actually do anything outrageous here.

And just as Steven and Lin Yuhsia continued bickering back and forth like some strangely dysfunctional couple, a surprised girl's voice suddenly sounded from behind them.

"Righteous Hero?! Why are you here?!"

Along with that energetic youthful voice came a figure Steven recognized instantly.

The fluffy feline-like face.

The tiger-striped markings.

The vibrant, beastly features.

It was the furry girl that wanted to become his disciple back then—the justice-obsessed young heroine.

Steven turned toward the girl who had enthusiastically greeted him and responded with an unusually friendly smile.

"Oh, it's you."

"Could you maybe not call me 'Hero' in public?" he said awkwardly while scratching the back of his head. "It's kinda embarrassing."

"Just call me Big Bro instead."

The moment Steven made that "honest and humble" gesture, Lin Yuhsia nearly rolled her eyes into another dimension.

Embarrassed?

This guy?

Was he suddenly possessed by another personality, or was this yet another one of his bizarre new games?

"Oh, right! My bad!"

The energetic tiger girl immediately nodded in understanding.

"Big Bro, then!"

"So why are you here? Did you run into some kind of trouble that needs investigating?"

"I can help too!"

She proudly puffed out her chest beneath her sportswear, her youthful vitality practically overflowing.

For the first time, Steven truly understood what it meant for a little tiger to somehow look both fierce and unexpectedly adorable at the same time.

Only then did Waai Fu suddenly remember that Steven was supposed to be one of those legendary hidden masters living among ordinary people.

Naturally, someone like him would not want to casually expose his identity in public.

Calling him "Hero" so loudly really had been inappropriate.

Having successfully rationalized everything on Steven's behalf in her own head, the smile on Waai Fu's face became even brighter.

After all, meeting your lifesaving benefactor at your part-time workplace was definitely something worth celebrating.

"Mm, there actually is a small matter I might need the agency's boss to help me with," Steven admitted with a nod.

Then he looked curiously toward Waai Fu again.

"But from the sound of it… you work here too?"

In this terrible world, there was no such thing as laws preventing minors from working.

For many children, simply finding a job capable of supporting themselves was already considered fortunate.

Even in a relatively prosperous place like Lungmen, nobody would interfere with an energetic student-aged furry girl taking on part-time work like this.

What Steven could not understand was this:

Waai Fu was clearly capable in a fight, and she definitely did not look short on money either.

So why was she working part-time at such a strange detective agency?

"I guess you could say that," Waai Fu replied.

When the topic shifted to the owner of the agency, she paused briefly, as though recalling something important.

Then a warm smile naturally appeared on her face.

"The boss here is my… mm, family."

"Come on, I'll take you inside first."

"I'll contact Mr. Lee right away. He's probably off eating fish balls in the slums again."

With her usual enthusiasm, Waai Fu led Steven and Lin Yuhsia through the bustling office as naturally as if she were bringing guests into her own home.

Along the way, they passed a Perro youth whose face radiated such pure honesty that Steven could only describe him as an extremely dependable oversized golden retriever in humanoid form.

Only after walking past him did they finally arrive at the reception room in the back.

"Wait, that guy earlier wasn't the owner?"

Steven sat down on the sofa without the slightest trace of politeness and pointed toward the direction they had come from.

"I saw him handling everyone's requests nonstop the moment I walked in."

"I thought he was the boss."

"Of course not," Waai Fu replied while enthusiastically serving him a cup of hot tea.

"That's Hung. He's an employee here too, just like me."

"And he's also one of the children Mr. Lee took in."

"Ah, I see."

Steven nodded in realization.

Though to be fair, his misunderstanding really was understandable.

Because judging from the situation, the entire Lee's Detective Agency seemed to rely almost entirely on Hung doing all the actual work.

"So when can I meet this Mr. Lee you keep mentioning?" Steven asked casually.

"I have something important I need to discuss with him."

"Something potentially connected to… rather important matters."

Steven did not pry into the "one of the children Mr. Lee took in" part at all.

That was clearly personal business.

"Then I'll go call him immediately!"

Seeing Steven suddenly become more serious, Waai Fu quickly straightened up as well.

"Please wait here for a bit. Have some tea first—it shouldn't take long."

Just as she was preparing to leave—

"Well, well. What's the special occasion today?"

A somewhat gloomy male voice suddenly rang out from nearby.

"How rare. Our righteous heroine actually brought customers into the agency herself."

"Let me guess…" the voice continued lazily.

"This isn't another angry parent showing up after you accidentally beat up one of their kids again, is it?"

The cheerful expression on Waai Fu's face instantly collapsed.

"My business is none of your concern," she shot back immediately.

"And these are important guests."

"They're here to discuss serious matters with Mr. Lee."

"If you're really that bored, why don't you go back to researching your weird medicine experiments instead of standing here making sarcastic comments?"

Waai Fu crossed her arms and glared toward the source of the voice.

Standing there was a young Feline man with fluffy features and distinct catlike characteristics, holding several strange potion bottles in his hands.

Steven stared at him for a moment.

Then, unable to hold it in any longer, he quietly muttered:

"…I seriously think this place should stop calling itself Lee's Detective Agency."

"Changing the name to Furry Detective Agency might honestly be more accurate."

And then another terrifying thought suddenly surfaced in his mind.

"…Don't tell me this Mr. Lee is also a furry?"
