Chapter 594: See You in Juvenile Detention
Whether Lee's Detective Agency was truly some kind of furry gathering spot, Steven honestly did not know.
But one thing he could clearly feel was the inexplicable hostility coming from the Feline boy who had just appeared.
It was the kind of instinctive mutual dislike that seemed to exist from birth.
Faced with the openly unfriendly gaze sweeping across him, Steven merely smiled indifferently.
"Mr. Lee specifically said outsiders aren't supposed to be casually brought into the agency," the Feline boy remarked as he sat down near Steven.
"Especially suspicious people like this."
He sniffed lightly.
And after confirming that the medicinal scent lingering around Steven was not his imagination, the hostility in his tone became even more obvious.
"Waai Fu, don't tell me you got tricked again."
"You're not seriously helping someone count money after being scammed yourself, are you?"
"Young man," Steven said lazily, "your attitude isn't very friendly."
"Though to be fair…" he paused thoughtfully, "calling me 'suspicious' actually isn't wrong."
"I really am pretty hard to explain."
Not only did he fail to deny it, he even casually agreed with the accusation himself.
"But," Steven continued, "I haven't done anything yet, so I don't know why you seem to have such a problem with me."
"Still, I'd advise you to put away those little thoughts of yours."
"I currently don't have the spare time to play around with edgy teenagers."
Just from the boy's permanently irritated expression and aggressive tone, Steven could already tell that this was probably one of those classic "troubled youth with a dark backstory" archetypes.
Unfortunately, Steven had absolutely zero interest in that kind of furry pretty-boy setting.
Lin Yuhsia-style mouse girls were already about the maximum level of beast-girl aesthetics he could tolerate.
The Feline youth clearly had not expected Steven to fire back so directly.
After freezing briefly, a cold smile slowly spread across his face.
"Judging by the smell," the boy said slowly, "you work in the medical field too, don't you?"
"How unfortunate."
"And here I thought fellow professionals would understand what 'honest advice sounds unpleasant' means."
"I'm merely reminding my friend to be careful."
He glanced sideways toward Waai Fu.
"A cheerful idiot like her, with muscles where her brain should be… is practically ideal material for experimentation."
Despite the smile on his face, the hostility in his voice remained obvious.
"Tch."
Steven clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"So you really can't understand human language, huh?"
Then he turned toward Lin Yuhsia beside him.
"Do me a favor."
"Send him to juvenile detention for a couple days."
"Let him learn some basic social skills and common courtesy."
"No problem, right, Miss Lin Yuhsia?"
The smile disappeared completely from Steven's face.
His tone was entirely serious.
"…Huh?"
Not only did the Feline boy freeze on the spot, even Lin Yuhsia, who had been waiting to see how Steven would respond, stared blankly at him in confusion.
Clearly, she was trying to determine whether he was joking.
"Huh what?" Steven replied flatly. "I'm serious."
"Just tell Wei Yenwu."
"There's no way he'd refuse me this much face."
"And honestly, this is for the kid's own good."
He casually dug at his ear while speaking.
"Randomly provoking strangers without understanding their background, just because of personal bias… does he seriously think there's never going to be consequences for that?"
Steven had chosen the simplest and most efficient solution possible.
He had no interest whatsoever in learning why this boy harbored such hostility toward anyone connected to medicine.
Nor did he feel like wasting energy trying to fix the kid's personality.
Since he currently had the entire Lungmen government backing him anyway, wouldn't it be far easier to let the juvenile detention center handle the problem instead of giving himself a headache?
And honestly, nobody could even criticize Steven's approach that much.
After all, he had just arrived.
He was merely arranging for him to receive some "education."
From a certain perspective, that might not even be a bad thing.
"…Understood."
After recognizing from Steven's expression that he was completely serious, Lin Yuhsia simply nodded quietly without further objection.
To her, this solution posed absolutely no problem.
Compared to the countless outrageous things Steven had done before, this was practically restrained and merciful.
There was not even any need to contact Wei Yenwu personally.
Lin Yuhsia merely took out a communicator from her pocket, walked over to the corner, and calmly began giving instructions through it.
Meanwhile, the Feline boy who had been acting so arrogant moments earlier was now completely dumbfounded.
He never could have imagined Steven pulling such a shameless move—and even worse, he actually possessed the authority to make it happen.
This response had utterly exceeded the boy's expectations.
Clearly, he still had not fully grasped just how cruel the adult world could be.
"W-Wait—"
"Wait for what?"
Steven shot him an annoyed glance.
"You brought this on yourself."
"Now get ready to enjoy detention."
"Use your time there to seriously reflect on where exactly you went wrong."
"Just because someone's easygoing doesn't mean you can treat them like they have no temper."
After coldly interrupting the boy, Steven could not even be bothered sparing him another glance.
Instead, he turned toward Waai Fu beside him.
"Sorry about that," Steven said apologetically.
To his surprise, however, Waai Fu just shrugged.
"It's fine, Aak's not exactly blameless."
"Besides, he's constantly acting hostile toward doctors, so he kind of had it coming."
"Honestly, it's good for him to suffer a little now rather than later."
In her opinion, Aak had kind of brought this upon himself.
His terrible personality should have gotten him into trouble a long time ago.
And from a certain angle, Steven's method was surprisingly reasonable.
If she had possessed the authority to pull this move herself, she would have done it ages ago.
Maybe then Aak would finally stop using all those bizarre experimental medicines on her.
Looking at Aak's expression—which now resembled someone who had just swallowed a bitter lemon—Waai Fu secretly felt even more convinced that Steven was unquestionably a righteous hero.
After all, what kind of villain casually made a single phone call and had official Lungmen juvenile authorities dispatched immediately?
"You…"
Aak gritted his teeth and glared unwillingly at Steven.
Just as A was about to say something else, the front door of the agency suddenly opened.
For a moment, he actually thought the juvenile detention officers had somehow arrived already.
But instead, a middle-aged man stepped through the doorway like a savior descending from heaven.
"I was wondering why Hung was the only one working outside today," the man remarked casually while tossing the fedora from his head onto a nearby coat rack.
"So you're all gathered back here instead?"
"What's this? Important guests?"
The newcomer possessed a face that looked somehow both fishlike and dragonlike at the same time.
As expected, he was indeed another furry.
But surprisingly enough, just from his appearance alone, one could feel a unique aura of a ruggedly handsome middle-aged man.
"Whether they're guests or not is hard to say," Aak muttered bitterly.
"But their greeting gift was definitely unexpected."
Then he saw the figures entering directly behind Mr. Lee.
A group of imposing officers wearing uniforms from the Lungmen Guard Department.
Aak's expression instantly froze.
What the hell was this guy's background?
Since when had the LGD arrive this fast?
