His right sleeve was torn. A tattoo was glowing. A beautiful script that was radiating immense power. The very space they were in seemed responding to it for a brief second. But that did not escape Rebecca's keen senses. ' What?!!! Only lord class martials have the capability to produce 'mystic effects'. How can a Knight do that? Even if it was for a few seconds.'
But she was not flustered she got ready for attack. As she geared up. Ben brought his focus to the limits by activating the combination of 'Jamadagni Bhavana' and 'Vasishta Vachanam'. His aura now had a red tinge. The amount of aura did not spike. Neither did it radiate any killing intent. It just flowed. Flowed as if it was flowing from ancient times. Like it was a primordial existence. To Rebecca it was as if she was looking at the cosmos itself. This was an illusion because of how close their power levels was. If some one who was much more powerful than Ben looked, they would not feel such a scene. But they will sense the power behind it as well as the intricate flow of aura.
Rebecca did not wait any longer. She unleashed sword lights, which were flying towards Ben at astounding speeds from different angles. Ben looked at the converging attacks. His eyes had a calm look. He was not flustered; he was not afraid. His heart burned with passion. Not for love. Not for lust. But for power. For ascending the limits of mortality, the limits of a martial. His mind became serene. All his bodily functions heightened. All these happened in a split second.
He activated the impact pulse. Several claw shaped attacks flew towards Rebecca. She dodged some of them and parried others with her. Ben's attack had several issues. He was not an expert at ranged attacks. He did not have any experience in them and thus he could not corner her effectively.
But Ben was aware of this issue. He was using this to understand Rebecca's reaction speed and movement pattern.
Ben then unleashed the second level of impact pulse, which he himself had dubbed as 'Helical Impact'. A revolving claw struck Rebecca's sword at supersonic speed. It continued its drilling motion even after Rebecca blocked it. Her aura concentrated on the edge of her sword as she tried to nullify the attack.
But Ben did not wait. He unleashed the rush n' ram. Even as she was defending against Ben's attack, she could not help but marvel at the sight of the majestic lupis that was pouncing at her. But she could not do that for long. She stopped her resistance which flung her across the arena to a good distance. The aura claw had not disappeared, but Ben also was forced to move towards the edge of the arena.
Just as he was about to fall of the arena, Rebecca let go of the sword and ducked down. The aura claw crashed on the walls of the arena. Causing quite a big hole, but not enough to fully destroy it. The sword however hovered back to her.
Ben raised an eye brow. He asked in a low voice, " You can do that?" Rebecca smiled inside her mask and said, " Yes. All weapon based meridian wielders can that. You did not know about it?" Ben said in a sheepish tone, " No. I did not. But now I do."
They did not exchange anymore words. But Rebecca understood the last words. He will not fall for that anymore. She decided it was time to get serious. She was going to unleash the full power of her 'Manikya Churika'.
Then Ben saw it. The most beautiful light display he had seen in his life. Rebecca drew a circle with her sword in front of her, which created the illusion of a several swords in front of her in different colors. In a few seconds those swords disappeared. Rebecca suddenly took a sword stance and unleashed countless light sword lights at Ben. This time it was different. Each of those lights had different colour.
Ben sensed the power in each of them. He unleashed the aether leap and dodged them. All of them. But just as he did that, he saw Rebecca already in front of him. Her sword was glowing crimson, with boundless power radiating from them. Ben barely blocked the attack with his claws. Even then his palms were bleeding. The power of the red coloured sword was really high. She with drew the sword and struck at him. This time however the sword radiated a blue light. She sent two blue coloured sword lights towards him, which was rather slow. Then she struck him with the blue sword. Ben felt that the attack was really weak. He easily blocked it. That was when he realized something. He hurriedly activated the humming shirt. The two blue sword lights which struck him at supersonic speeds. He was forced forward. Suddenly Rebecca's sword turned to red colour. It increased the power output suddenly. Ben could not defend properly and a large cut appeared across his palms.
Rebecca thought that this was enough to end the spar. But she was shocked by what she saw next. Ben's hand was healing at a visible rate. Knights had healing factor. But not anyone had such a high healing rate except for certain specialized meridian wielders. Ben said. " You will have to do more than that."
Rebecca did not wait. Suddenly her sword turned green in colour. Before Ben could even wonder what green was going to do, he was sent flying. He could see Rebecca standing with her palm behind the blade.
Ben quickly used impact pulse to stop the flying and regained his bearing . He unleashed the combination of rush n' ram along with the aether leap. Before Rebecca could even fathom, an impact struck her like a comet. Her sword colour changed again. This time it was blue. Ben felt as if he had struck a cushion. It dampened the impact.
Now Ben was really apprehensive. Ben could see many colours on Rebecca's aura. She had not used all of them. And he did not know what effects it might have. Even with the existing colours, he would not know what she would use and when.
Ben deactivated his ethereal lupis around him. He looked at Rebecca and her sword. He imagined her smug face. She said, " What do you think, of my 'Manikya Churika' and its 'Parade of Myriad Lights' ?". Ben said , " I am starting to hate light displays now. And you should work on your naming skill as well. It could use some work." After he said it, he kind of regretted it.
Rebecca now changed the sword light to red. " Oops" That was all what Ben could say, before he was assaulted by Rebecca. Sparks flew; floor was destroyed. Soon the spectators who were watching it, the attacks became and intertwined mix of red, blue, white and black. That was how fast both of them were moving.
