Mona hadn't slept a wink the entire night before.
Even though she couldn't use her orb to see anything about Kael or those connected to him, as an astrologist she was extremely sensitive to aura and atmosphere.
And last night, the waves of intimacy drifting up from the first floor had her tossing and turning endlessly, unable to rest.
Her face would flush crimson one moment, then twist with gritted teeth the next.
She couldn't stop herself from being affected by it. But the thought that all of this was coming from Kael... and another woman... made her teeth ache with frustration.
So intense... so passionate...
Hmph!!!
Mona shot him a venomous glare the next morning.
Kael spread his hands helplessly. "What's with that look? Weren't you the one who was all fired up about working yesterday?"
"Hmph!"
She gave a sharp sniff and spun back into her room to get ready.
After a while, she emerged again, tidied up and chin lifted proudly.
"Let's go."
The two of them went downstairs and reopened the shop that had been closed for several days, hanging up fresh cuts of pork.
Just as Kael had expected, the Great Snowboar King craze hadn't cooled off yet. The moment the shop opened, Mondstadt citizens lined up eagerly, and all the pork he'd prepared was sold out in no time!
Mona counted the coins for him, her expression full of envy as she muttered under her breath, "So much money... damn it... why didn't I think of making money like this..."
Kael raised an eyebrow at the way she clutched the coins, unwilling to let them go.
She really was poor to the bone—getting jealous over this little bit of money.
"Give it a few days, business won't be this easy anymore," he said.
He knew full well that right now, the citizens of Mondstadt were full of curiosity about him, so everyone wanted to buy from his shop and chat a little.
But in a few days, the novelty would wear off. People already had Hunters they trusted—most would go back to buying pork from the Hunters in Springvale.
When that happened, he'd have to think about what to do with the shop.
Or... maybe he could just close up for a while and travel outside Mondstadt?
Kael suddenly remembered he had something he needed to take care of immediately.
Amber was speaking to a group of patrol knights nearby: "The Fatui have been spotted more frequently around Mondstadt's outskirts lately. I feel like they're scheming something. Keep an eye out for their movements during patrols."
"Yes, ma'am!"
Just as Kael arrived at the Knights of Favonius headquarters, he saw Amber at work.
Her face carried a professionalism rarely seen on her.
He waited quietly until she finished with the knights before stepping forward.
"Amber."
The familiar voice made her turn with surprise, her serious expression instantly melting into joy.
"Kael! What are you doing here? Did you come just to see me?"
She ran up to him happily, hands clasped behind her back, tilting her head up with those bright amber eyes full of expectation.
The bunny-ear ornament on her head bounced with her movement, making her look just like an adorable little rabbit.
"Yes. Last night—"
"Eula already left, didn't she?" Amber cut him off, knowing what he wanted to say.
"Did she tell you how she feels?"
Kael thought back to last night... and nodded.
"Hehe, that's good."
Amber smiled sweetly.
"Eula's a very reserved girl. Now that I know she's expressed her feelings, I can relax."
Even though he'd already learned from Eula that all this had been pushed along by Amber behind the scenes, hearing Amber say it face-to-face still left him momentarily stunned.
Looking into her clear, sincere eyes, Kael knew she truly was happy for him and Eula. It moved him deeply.
Amber really was a wonderful girl—she loved him wholeheartedly and only wanted the best for him.
Kael's gaze softened. "I won't let you down."
Amber tilted her head, smiling sweetly. "I know."
"Kael, did you come all the way to the Knights of Favonius just to tell me this?"
Right.
Kael suddenly remembered his real reason for coming.
"Amber, I want to take the Wind Glider exam."
He recalled that in the game, Amber had been the one to administer the gliding license test.
It was an idea he'd had ever since awakening his Anemo Vision yesterday.
Wind Gliders were an essential travel tool in Teyvat.
One of his Elemental Skills worked very similarly to Barbatos's Anemo abilities—it could generate gusts from the ground to launch enemies into the sky.
Yesterday, he'd realized those gusts could also send people soaring upward. Wouldn't that pair perfectly with a Wind Glider?
When he'd played Genshin before, he'd always thought the Wind Glider was one of the most useful tools—not only practical but also letting him enjoy Teyvat's breathtaking scenery from above.
Now that he was here, of course he wanted to experience it himself.
Hearing his request, Amber immediately pulled out a spare Wind Glider and handed it to him.
"Ah, I can't believe I forgot about this. I should've given you one right from the start."
"'Wind' is the very soul of Mondstadt. With this, you'll find it much easier to move through the skies."
"Come on, I'll take you to the highest point in Mondstadt so you can really feel the Wind Glider's power!"
She excitedly grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the steps by the Cathedral of Favonius.
From there, the view of Mondstadt spread out in all its beauty.
"Using the Wind Glider is simple. Jump from a high point and spread your wings to start gliding. Just follow behind me—we'll fly together to the fountain at Mondstadt's gates."
"Alright."
Amber leapt first, wings of wind unfurling as she soared gracefully through the air.
Kael followed right after, jumping from the steps.
Inside the Cathedral of Favonius, Barbara Pegg stood pale and tear-streaked before the towering statue of Barbatos.
Her hands clasped tightly together as she prayed with trembling earnestness.
"Anemo Archon, please... hear my troubles..."
