Nyx leaned over the papers. "What did you find?"
"A name, for one." Seraphina tapped one of the pages. "Vaelmyr. That's what it's called — not officially, but it shows up enough times across these that it's clearly not just a nickname."
"Vaelmyr..." Caleb repeated slowly, testing the word.
"There's more." Seraphina's fingers slid to another sheet, thick black bars crossing out entire lines. Nyx picked one up, holding it to the light as though it might reveal something the ink hadn't. "It wasn't a test or anything like that. It was an experiment. A failed one."
Victor's arms tightened across his chest. "An experiment on what?"
"I don't know." Seraphina shook her head, frustration flickering across her face. "Every page that might actually say gets redacted right where it matters. I've gone through everything I could get my hands on. Whoever buried this made sure of it."
Silence settled over the room.
