Max arrived at the location alone, just as they had instructed him to.
Waiting for him were old enemies, along with several new faces he had never seen before. Even so, it was clear that every person gathered there had come for the same reason. They were there to make certain Max wouldn't get away.
Among the faces he recognised was Dipter, one of the first enemies Max had encountered after experiencing life in a new body.
Despite only being in high school, Dipter already had connections to the Underworld. He had been strong and skilled enough to attract their attention, something few people his age could have achieved. Max had defeated him before, but judging by the confidence with which he stood among the others, Dipter hadn't forgotten what had happened between them.
