Chapter 149 - CHAPTER 150

c150: Homologous Waveguide, Mew Cares! !

"Mi" Mew hovered gently in the air, peering down with wide blue eyes at the scorched Nidoking sprawled unconscious on the cracked ground below. The playful feline Pokémon, who had only meant to engage in a friendly mock battle, now floated with a rare look of unease.

Though known for being lively, mischievous, and inquisitive by nature, Mew now seemed unsure clearly sensing it had let its power spiral beyond control.

"Mew, do you need help?" came a calm voice from a nearby grassy mound.

Ash, watching from not far off, took a small step forward. His expression was neither startled nor fearful. He could tell from Mew's body language ears slightly drooping, tail coiling nervously in the air that it hadn't intended harm.

"Mew~?" the mythical Pokémon turned with a curious trill.

From the moment Ash had arrived, Mew had noticed him.after all, it was the guardian of the World Tree and sensitive to even the faintest energies. But initially, Mew hadn't paid him much mind. It had sensed humans before many, in fact and most were of little consequence.

But now, Mew was intrigued.

This boy had recognized it instantly. Not many humans could do that especially children.

"Mew~" With a light chirp, the floating Pokémon zipped toward Ash, circling around him twice, its fur brushing past his shoulders like static electricity. Its eyes blinked curiously, locking onto Ash's face.

Ash remained still, calm, despite Mew's unpredictable nature. He was aware deeply aware that Mew's cheerful exterior belied a creature of raw, primal power. As a being beyond human logic or morality, Mew's actions could shift on a whim from playful to devastating.

And so, Ash instinctively activated his inner senses.

He invoked Forbidden Power: Natural Affinity, channeling the blessings granted to him by Celebi, guardian of the forest, and simultaneously opened his Waveguide, the ancient power inherited from the aura-sensitive bloodline of Sir Aaron.

"Mi~?!" Mew froze midair.

A silent ripple pulsed from Ash's body gentle, green-tinted light blooming briefly like wind through leaves. It carried the scent of the deep forest, the passage of time, and the essence of Celebi.

Mew's eyes widened.

"The breath of Celebi… And the aura of Sir Aaron's lineage?" Mew tilted its head slowly, staring at Ash. "This is the purest waveguide I've sensed since…"

Mew, who had only been curious a moment ago, now looked genuinely astonished.

The aura it felt from Ash wasn't just strong it was identical to that of Sir Aaron, the ancient Aura Guardian who once helped preserve the balance of the Pokémon world.

And more startling was the secondary layer of energy Celebi's natural aura, flowing seamlessly within the boy's spirit. Such blessings could not be artificially obtained. They could only be earned by an individual of sincere love for Pokémon, nature, and harmony.

Ash's aura felt not just blessed it felt mythical.

For Mew, this human no longer registered as an ordinary person.

From his natural affinity to the forest, his connection to time, and the unmistakable power of waveguide, Ash seemed less like a boy and more like a living, growing embodiment of Celebi a human echo of the Forest Guardian itself.

Though the presence of Celebi alone was fascinating, what drew Mew's true interest was something deeper.

Ash's waveguide.

Mew's memory stirred back to an era long past.

Thousands of years ago, before Poké Balls and structured leagues, the Pokémon world was caught in a maelstrom of conflict and war. In those ancient times, it was waveguide masters not trainers who brought peace or destruction.

The kingdom of Rota, once protected by the Aura Guardian Sir Aaron, stood close to the Tree of Beginning, the World Tree that Mew itself was bound to protect.

In that age, the world tree's balance was threatened by the wars of mankind, and in protecting it, Mew had exhausted its energy and entered a deep hibernation. The connection between Mew and the World Tree was sacred they rose and fell together.

Mew still remembered Aaron. His waveguide was the purest it had ever seen.

And now, this boy this Ash carried that same signature, not just in skill, but in spirit.

If the flames of war on the Pokémon continent are not extinguished and the crisis threatening the World Tree remains unresolved, then Mew, the guardian of the World Tree, would never awaken again. The World Tree and Mew are spiritually linked should the tree fall, Mew's essence would perish with it, both reduced to nothingness.

Long ago, Aaron, the revered Aura Guardian from Rota, ventured to the Royal Library of Orudran City in search of ancient knowledge that could help end the relentless conflict consuming the land. It was there, buried in scrolls and timeworn tomes, that he uncovered the truth of the World Tree and its guardian: Mew.

Aaron learned that the World Tree serves as a stabilizer for the natural and spiritual order of the Pokémon world. Should its balance be disrupted, so too would the world descend into chaos. However, if the World Tree remained strong and its guardian Mew awakened, their combined force could recalibrate the world's flow of life energy, thereby dissolving the flames of war and restoring peace.

With no other path forward, Aaron chose sacrifice. To safeguard Orudran City and bring balance back to the Pokémon world, he gave his own life transferring his entire Waveguide, the ancient power of aura, directly into the slumbering Mew.

Receiving Aaron's pure aura and life force, Mew awakened from its deep sleep. With the immense waveguide now flowing through it, Mew quelled the chaos sweeping across the land and restored vitality to the World Tree, rebalancing the pulse of the planet.

Aaron's sacrifice not only saved his homeland and the world it also saved Mew and the World Tree. And because Mew absorbed the totality of Aaron's waveguide, it likewise inherited fragments of his memory and emotional resonance.

0....

Mew—mythical ancestor of all Pokémon and eternal wanderer once had no fixed home, drifting across the globe like a spirit of the wild. That is, until the day of Aaron's sacrifice.

From that moment on, Mew's path shifted.

Though still elusive and whimsical by nature, Mew developed an emotional anchor: a concept of "home." That home was Orudran City the place Aaron had died protecting, the one place that now carried Mew's deepest bond.

Now, looking at the human boy before it dark-haired, light-brown eyes clear and determined Mew's blue eyes widened slightly. The resemblance to Aaron was uncanny. Not just physically, but spiritually. The waveguide flowing from Ash felt exactly the same as Aaron's a purity and rhythm identical to the aura Mew carried within itself.

Because Mew had inherited Aaron's waveguide, and Ash now exhibited the same aura signature, the connection was undeniable. In that moment, Mew felt a powerful, instinctive closeness that bypassed logic.

"Mi~?" Mew floated nearer to Ash, eyes bright with curiosity and wonder. "Could this child... be Aaron reborn?"

Though Ash could not read Mew's exact thoughts, he could sense the bond forming. The waveguide didn't lie it thrummed with mutual recognition. Still, Ash remained focused. He wasn't lost in sentiment.

He approached Nidoking now downed and lightly scorched due to Mew's accidental overuse of power and activated another internal energy: the Vibram Force (his name for the restored natural aura he had nurtured since arriving at the camp). His palms began to emit a soft glow, and he gently laid them over Nidoking's side.

Over the last two weeks at summer camp, Ash had continuously honed his natural aura. From helping wounded wild Pokémon to channeling life energy through meditation and practice, his control over the Vibram Force had strengthened significantly. What once took him hours now came instinctively.

Even though Nidoking was a high-level Pokémon with extensive injuries, Ash's healing technique infused with waveguide precision and natural energy began knitting its internal damage back together at a visible pace.

This was not the first time Ash had used this power to heal.

During the fishing activity earlier in the summer camp, Goh had been gravely wounded by a rampaging Gyarados. Ash, calm and composed, had been able to assess and conclude that his healing aura could have mended Goh's injuries with ease.

Of course, that didn't mean Ash wanted to help Goh.

Ash had no intention of alleviating Goh's pain. The example stood simply as a comparison healing him was within reach, but unnecessary. Goh wasn't Ash's concern.

Right now, only Nidoking and the bond with Mew mattered.
