"Tomorrow is my surgery. Will you stay with me in the operating room?" Gilbert held Claire's soft hand gently as he asked.
He had been only fifteen back then, terrified as he faced the darkness.
It was Anila who had accompanied him into the operating room, who stayed by his side, encouraging and comforting him, helping him survive that bleakest moment.
Now he was far more mature, braver and steadier in facing the world, yet he still wished for the woman he loved most to walk with him, guiding him through the dark once more.

"All right. I will," she answered softly but clearly.
