Around nine o'clock in the evening, Ryuji and Touka Kirishima returned to the antique coffee shop.
Back inside, Yoshimura Kousan, acting as a customer, was sitting at a table flipping through a book. The book was the same one Kenma Ken watched—The Egg of the Black Mountain Goat.
On the table, there was also a cup of coffee and two sealed packages wrapped in oil paper.
Seeing Ryuji and Touka return, Yoshimura called them over and said, "Touka-chan, Ryuji, these two bags contain enough food to last you about a week. Take them!"
Hearing this, Touka Kirishima expressed her gratitude, "Thank you, boss!"
Ryuji was originally planning to refuse or even give his share to Touka, but to prevent himself from losing control due to lack of supplies, he decided to take the food wrapped in oil paper first.
"Thanks, boss," Ryuji also said, just like Touka, expressing his thanks.
"Alright, take your things upstairs, have a good meal, then take a nice hot bath, and finally get a good night's sleep," Yoshimura indicated that he didn't intend to keep Ryuji and Touka, just telling them to take their things and leave.
Afterward, Ryuji and Touka each took their respective food supplies and went upstairs. Once on the second floor, Ryuji asked, "Do you want to shower first, or should I?"
"Ryuji, why don't you eat those foods first before taking a shower?" Touka asked somewhat puzzled.
Since {Ghouls} can eat quite elegantly but still carry a bloodstain smell, Touka preferred to wash herself after eating.
"I plan to delay eating for now. If you want to eat, I'll go take a shower first," Ryuji replied.
"Okay, just remember not to spoil it! These things don't last long; you need to eat them by tomorrow at the latest," Touka reminded him. She didn't force him, just warned that the food was fresh and wouldn't keep long if not refrigerated.
After taking a shower, Ryuji changed into his new casual clothes and slippers, then returned to his small room.
Once alone in his tiny room, Ryuji finally felt a long-lost sense of relaxation.
He collapsed onto his bed and didn't want to move.
His exhaustion wasn't physical but mental. Dealing with Touka Kirishima was really draining for him.
He lay on the bed for a while before sitting up and looking at the wrapped food on the bedside table.
He didn't open it out of curiosity because he knew what was inside.
He also knew that he couldn't possibly eat it himself, so he asked the Transcendence System, "System, since the Ghost Devourer isn't sealed, can it replace me in devouring these things and convert them into nutrients for Rc cell operation?"
Although Ryuji's breathing technique couldn't be used due to his identity, the Ghost Devourer wasn't sealed by the system. So, he could still activate his Ghoul form.
However, in the {Ghoul} world, there are no {Ghouls}—so Ryuji didn't know if the Ghost Devourer could devour other species in this world to replace {Ghouls} and supplement his Ghoul power, or help him devour corpses to provide the necessary nutrients for his {Ghoul} body.
