Luna's chin stayed up. Her lips were still curled around the last syllable of her 'I'll show you who's boss,' her gaze was locked on Kaiden's, and her brain had not yet caught up to the fact that running her mouth at a man whose favorite hobby was escalation had consequences.
Kaiden did not look away from her challenging gaze.
"Besties..."
Nyx's voice cut in, perfectly timed, perfectly innocent. She had her phone out, head tilted at the notification.
"Alex sent me a message."
Nyx turned the phone around.
'look around 😳😳'
Everyone looked.
The master bedroom they had walked into was not the master bedroom they had left that morning. A leather case sat open beside the nightstand, velvet-lined interior gleaming with dark metal and shimmer-threaded cable. A rolling garment rack had been wheeled in along the far wall. The wardrobe doors stood slightly parted open.
Calypso's tail twitched once. Then again.
"Oh. I think I know what's going on…"
