Watt didn't linger in the living room for long; he turned and headed upstairs.
Just as he was stepping onto the spiral staircase, Sophie suddenly blurted out, "Your actions remind me of my brother!"
Watt's back stiffened, and he stopped in his tracks.
This child is so perceptive.
Does he actually understand everything?
Sophie was watching him, her eyes sparkling brightly.
Watt turned his head, his gaze slowly meeting hers. He stared at her quietly for a while before faintly saying, "Too bad I'm not."
Sophie was still a child, too young to be sure if she could keep a secret.
Watt's words were carefully considered before being spoken.
Clearly disappointed by his words, Sophie's gaze dimmed almost instantly.
"Sleep well, and from now on, you're allowed to call me Brother Watt." After leaving her with these words, Watt slowly continued upstairs.
Sophie watched his back for a long, long time, not looking away even after he had disappeared.
