Within the Evernight World, the thirteen supreme Demon Ancestors (Blood Moon) were, in truth, peak-level beings of the Ancient Realm—each standing at the very threshold of Eternity. At such heights, each minor level within a realm creates insurmountable gaps.
The Dark moon Demon Lord had once been a powerful Immortal-level Great Demon Gods—just a step away from becoming a Overlord (Ancient level). Yet he still perished, showing how brutal the final war of the last era had been.
Now that he was revived, it was akin to a new life.
His eyes were deep and bottomless, like two ancient abysses. He looked into the void, recalling the moment when he was wounded by a single slash of a divine axe—a terrifying memory etched into his soul.
"You all are the finest talents of Evernight—geniuses and monsters alike. The future of Evernight depends on you."
He glanced around at the monstrous figures gathered in the dark palace, nodding to himself. To have reached such cultivation at such a young age was proof of their unparalleled aptitude. If they could survive, they would undoubtedly become mighty beings.
That is, if they survive.
"Dark Lord," said the Black and White Fiends in eerie unison, "we have brought the Demon God Battlefortress here by order of the Lords. Our aim is not only to fully bring the Dark Region under Evernight's control—to turn it into an impenetrable stronghold for invading the Eternal World—but also to assassinate a singular target: Yi Tianxing, the monstrous ruler of the Great Yi Holy Court. We will need you to act as our support—just in case."
"Indeed," the man in black robes added gravely, "Great Yi has grown far too quickly. In such a short time, it has already advanced to a Holy Court—beyond all expectations. Yi Tianxing himself is a heaven-defying genius with terrifying combat power. We've confirmed reliable intelligence that Great Yi is now preparing to ascend to the Immortal Court. Once that happens, his realm and fortune will soar. One year of cultivation for him will be worth hundreds for others. Reining him in then will be next to impossible."
He paused, a touch of bitterness in his voice.
"We—Nine-Headed Hydra—have tried several operations against him, all of which failed. We've lost people and resources every time."
He wasn't trying to hide it. When it came to Yi Tianxing, all parties shared the same goal. Genuine cooperation was their only hope of removing this deep-rooted threat.
"I'm familiar with Yi Tianxing and his Great Yi Holy Court," said the Dark moon Demon Lord slowly. "Twice he has disrupted our efforts in the Divine-Demon Battleground, causing heavy setbacks. If allowed to grow, he will become a mortal threat to Evernight. However, I currently cannot leave the Dark Region. Thanks to the Demon God BattleFortress, I've gained the upper hand here and have a real chance to wipe out the local Eternal powerhouses and unify the entire region."
"But," he continued, "outside of the Dark Region, our dark corruption hasn't fully spread. Once I step outside, I'll be exposed to the Eternal Heavenly Dao. The Hunyuan and Saints of Eternity will not stand by idly. And don't forget—on the Primordial Continent, there is a terrifying taboo existence who has already stepped half a foot into the True Eternal Realm."
There was genuine dread in his voice. Not easy to detect—but it was there, rooted deep in his bones.
"The intelligence we, Nine-Headed Hydra, gathered," said the man in red robes, "shows that Great Yi has long had its sights set on the Dark Region. In fact, one of their trading companies once entered the region, bringing with them Eternal Coin Forges and Eternal Coins. Also, according to previous battle footage, during a clash with one of your subordinate Dark Gods, we spotted someone using a divine power that could only be Yi Tianxing's unique creation—Heavenly Emperor's Creation Hand. There's no doubt: Great Yi has agents hidden within the Dark Region, possibly linked to certain forbidden zones."
The red-robed man smiled.
"We don't need to act just yet. All we have to do is apply pressure to those forbidden zones. If any of them are in contact with Great Yi, they will undoubtedly try to make contact soon. All we must do is watch closely—especially the White Lotus Forbidden Zone. It's highly likely they're working with Great Yi. And when Yi Tianxing catches wind of this, with his pride, he'll likely come himself. That's when we seal off the entire Dark Region—cut off his escape routes—and turn this realm into his tomb."
Based on their understanding of Yi Tianxing, if he knew the Dark Region was in danger of being overrun by Evernight, he wouldn't sit idly by. Otherwise, he wouldn't have charged into the battlefield during the last Evernight war.
He feared nothing—not gods, not devils.
"But even with all this," said Demon Buddha Wuxin, frowning slightly, "what if he doesn't take the bait?"
"There's no way he won't," said the green-robed man with a sinister chuckle. "If all this doesn't bring him, we have another card to play. From our investigations, Yi Tianxing is a Chosen of Heaven—a survivor from the original Earth when the Ten Thousand Realms merged. He has a sister—Zhao Ziyan—who has already reunited with him. But his parents are still lost in other realms. If we spread word that his parents are being held in the Dark Region, he'll have no choice but to come."
"You really found his parents?" asked the Black and White Fiends, eyes gleaming.
Even if it wasn't certain, having this kind of leverage gave them absolute initiative. The chances of killing Yi Tianxing would increase dramatically.
"Whether it's true or not," said the black-robed man coldly, "we do have leads about his parents' whereabouts. That's our Hydra intelligence network at work. Once we leak this information, Yi Tianxing will have no choice but to show up."
"Very well," said Wuxin. "Then let's proceed as planned. Once Yi Tianxing steps into the Dark Region, this place will become his grave. Immediately release the information about his parents, and make sure the Dark Region's spies from Great Yi pick it up and transmit it back."
"If he dares come, this realm will bury him."
The Dark moon Demon Lord's voice was filled with absolute confidence.
Even if a Saint came, he would not fear.
In Great Yi – Morning Sky Palace
In Xuanhuang Immortal City, the top officials had all gathered in the great hall, whispering amongst themselves. This wasn't a regular court session, and yet the Summoning Bell had rung—clearly something urgent had happened. But no such event had been heard across the realm. If something had occurred, it would have already blown up on StarNet.
"Lords,"
Yi Tianxing said calmly, "I've just received news that the Dark Region is at risk of being overtaken by the evil forces of Evernight. The situation has shifted. If we let those creatures gain control, the Dark Region will become a base for Evernight—a demonic nest."
He didn't waste words and got straight to the point. He then gave a brief explanation of the current situation in the Dark Region so that all present could understand the urgency.
"The Dark Region… a demonic nest of Evernight…"
The faces of the gathered ministers darkened instantly.
They hadn't expected Evernight's infiltration into the Eternal World to have reached such a level. The Dark Region had nearly become a place where even the Heavenly Dao itself could not intervene—meaning only the Eternal side's own forces could stop it.
And now, it was clearly close to collapse.
If allowed to fall, the consequences would be dire—Evernight would gain an unshakable foothold, and the damage would be endless.
Now that they knew, they could not ignore it.
"Your Majesty," said Liu Bowen, stepping forward, "in this humble subject's view, we must not turn a blind eye to the crisis in the Dark Region. If it falls, it will bring nothing but ruin to the Eternal World. Great Yi must intervene and purge the demonic infestation. There are three reasons why."
"Oh? Let's hear them," said Yi Tianxing calmly.
"First," Liu Bowen said, "by aiding the Dark Region, we will gain the friendship—or at least the gratitude—of the many Forbidden Zone Lords there. Regardless of race or allegiance, even if they can't become friends, they will owe us. That kind of karmic debt is invaluable."
These Lords of Forbidden Zones were beings who had already attained the Dao. Gaining their goodwill or a favor from them was worth far more than gold.
"Second, this gives us a chance to eliminate Evernight's forces and potentially annex the Dark Region itself. Our Domain Gates connect both sides, so we don't need to worry about distance or management. Expanding our territory is always a boon."
If they wiped out the demons, the Dark Region would naturally fall under Great Yi's control.
