Chapter 306 - Chapter 43: The Perfect Team

Chapter 43: The Perfect Team

"The Last King?" (King Who Manifests at the World's End) Hikigaya was stunned. The name sounded familiar, but he couldn't remember where he'd heard it. Definitely not after he'd transmigrated.

Oh right—he'd seen it back when reading fanfics. Supposedly the final boss? So this means the Campione world actually has this guy? Not something made up by that author?

Hikigaya was about to ask further when he heard Voban's furious roar. He looked over—good grief! Voban was being ganged up on by Perseus, Sun Wukong, and Horus!

Especially Perseus, whose attacks were vicious beyond belief. Well, of course—no man can tolerate an enemy who's assaulted his manhood. All the more since Perseus is a sun god—how could a sun god whose manhood had been bitten off still show his face?

"I'll help him—you go help Luo Hao!" Hikigaya shouted, not caring whether the Black Prince listened or not, and dashed toward Sun Wukong.

"Ah, wait—" The Black Prince wanted to say more, but Hikigaya had already shot off like a bolt. The Prince turned toward Luo Hao's direction, his face betraying a faint trace of painful memories, but he grit his teeth and once again transformed into lightning.

This power, known as Flash of Lightning, was usurped from the angel Remiel of thunder and illusions. It allowed him to become lightning itself, moving at divine speed, unleashing thunderbolts, and evading physical attacks. It was his signature ability, the core of his combat style.

Truthfully, the Black Prince felt greatly wronged. He had only intended to stay hidden for the moment, but Horus, the disobedient god, ruined everything and dragged him into the fray. Now he even had to help that woman!

As he thought this, transformed into lightning, he approached Anuman and Luo Hao. In the next instant, his lightning dispersed into dozens of bolts that rained down upon Anuman and the surrounding area.

But, as expected, not only did Anuman retaliate, Luo Hao also attacked.

"Attempting a sneak attack, young Campione?"

"Interfering in another's duel—seems you didn't learn your lesson last time. That was my oversight, Luo Hao's mistake, but it's not too late for punishment today!"

The monkey god's weapon and Luo Hao's palm strike both landed upon the lightning almost simultaneously. Yet immediately, both they and the Prince realized something shocking: every attack in that space—including the Prince's lightning—vanished.

"Crazy woman, don't mess around on someone else's land." The Black Prince finally unleashed his true move. Beneath the monkey god's feet, a black sphere appeared, emitting a

terrifying gravitational pull that dragged everything toward it. At the same time, all the attacks that had disappeared earlier reappeared—but now, every single one was redirected against the monkey god.

"This shameless power again." Luo Hao had clearly seen this technique before. Her figure vanished from its place and reappeared far away, escaping the sphere's pull.

But the monkey god wasn't so lucky. Just as he tried to respond, he was struck by the sudden onslaught—including his own redirected attacks—and plummeted into the black sphere. In moments, half his body was swallowed.

"My apologies, but this land cannot bear such a battle. Please, step down." The Black Prince shouted from midair, though inwardly he was irritated. He had just used three authorities in one breath—far from his usual calculating style.

To be honest, the moment his plan of "hide and watch" had turned into this "hit first, think later" mess, he'd stopped enjoying any of it.

He carefully observed the monkey god's slowed descent and began preparing another thunder strike. Based on his judgment, this monkey had the weakest will to fight among all the gods present. His true priority was awakening his master. Whatever his reason for fighting here, it definitely had nothing to do with summoning the Last King.

So, once fighting became too troublesome, the monkey god would surely withdraw.

But today, the Black Prince was doomed to have nothing go his way.

Just as he was charging up, the sound of something tearing through the air reached his ears—a sound he knew all too well.

He had to abort his thunder buildup and dodge at godspeed. Sure enough, Luo Hao had returned, and it was her palm strike.

He remembered that woman's palms all too vividly—and wanted no part of them.

"Cult Leader, can't you be a bit more mature?" The Black Prince's temper flared as he saw the monkey god's descent completely halted.

"Such words are not for the rude to speak." Luo Hao hovered coldly in the air, staring at him. "Even peers must not interrupt my battle. Otherwise, you will face Luo Hao's wrath."

But then her expression changed—and the Black Prince's eyes widened.

It was Hikigaya. Having gone to help Voban, he now shot down from above the monkey god. In his hands, he held a massive boulder the size of an apartment building—who knows where he'd ripped it from. With a loud shout, he hurled it down at the monkey.

Midair, the boulder ignited into a blazing fireball and smashed directly into the monkey's face, burying both him and the black sphere deep into a massive fissure in the earth below. Then

Hikigaya clapped his hands together—and with a thunderous boom, the land itself sealed shut.

Watching the entire sequence unfold, the Black Prince was dumbfounded, while Luo Hao's expression was… exquisite.

Hikigaya, however, was utterly oblivious. Having helped Voban, he'd spotted the monkey half-trapped in that sphere. "Looked like his balls got caught," he thought, and immediately tore a boulder from the mountain, lit it into a sun with the Ten Suns authority, smashed the monkey, and buried him with Poseidon authority.

Now, summoning just one sun was effortless for him.

Job done, he turned around cheerfully and called out to the Black Prince: "Hurry up, next one!"

But then he noticed the Prince just staring blankly at him, while Luo Hao was giving him a deathly, chilling look—layered with deep meaning and violence.

"Eh? Cult Leader, you're here too? What a coincidence…" Hikigaya gave an awkward laugh. He realized he might have accidentally stolen her prey.

But that kind of problem was easy to solve.

"Perfect timing, Sister. Let's go help the old man—two enemies left. Three versus two, guaranteed win!"

Sure enough, Luo Hao let out a long breath, her face easing.

Luo Hao's goodwill depended on Voban. Anything that made the old man unhappy made her happy.

As for Voban's unhappiness… wasn't Doni there to deal with it?

Hikigaya mentally gave himself a thumbs up. He'd really assembled the perfect team.

As compensation, he decided he'd begrudgingly call Luo Hao "Sister" a few more times, even if her obsession with it was baffling.

As for the Black Prince—he'd have to sit down with him afterward and have a proper talk about that so-called Last King.
