Bennett checked the time. Based on the train's speed, they had already left the city and entered the wilderness. He then glanced across the aisle, making eye contact with his colleague, Wu Lei.
After the exchange of glances, the two of them each picked up their bags and headed towards the back of the carriage.
As night descended, most of the passengers had fallen asleep in various peculiar postures. The sound of their snores resonated with the rhythm of the train's swaying.
As they walked through carriage after carriage, more followers began to gather behind Bennett and Wu Lei. All of them were passengers who had boarded at the previous station. What was even stranger was that, apart from Bennett and Wu Lei, who remained calm and composed, the followers all eyed the passengers with an intense gaze, as if they were some kind of delicacy.
