Could this mummy be the first king of Wakanda? The man who once unified Wakanda and terrified tribes across the world? The man who single-handedly suppressed the entire land, led his people to drive out invaders, and built a nation that stood at the forefront of the world?
As these thoughts surfaced, a legend gradually emerged in Blaine's mind—a legend of Wakanda that was known throughout the Marvel universe.
Legend had it that long ago, the God of Creation was defeated by Death, and Death tore out the god's heart. To prevent the God of Creation from reclaiming it, the Egyptian panther goddess carried the heart to Wakanda and chose a man to bestow it upon. From that moment on, this man possessed extraordinary wisdom and shared that knowledge with his tribe. He became the first-generation Black Panther.
Blaine seemed to recall that a Black Panther statue carved from ore had been built atop this metal mountain, that Shuri's laboratory was also named "Black Panther," and that in front of T'Challa's building—and even when Blaine first entered Wakanda—a black panther statue had been erected on a mountaintop. Perhaps this was Wakanda's unique way of honoring their panther god, Bast.
Looking at the mummy seated upon the Vibranium throne, Blaine realized that this was the first-generation Black Panther—a figure who had existed millions of years ago. As was widely known, Bast, the patron deity of Wakanda, formed a spiritual connection with every generation of Black Panther, granting them superhuman power and authority over Wakanda.
All of this was linked through the heart-shaped herb. But the first-generation Black Panther was different. That was the man before Blaine now. He had drawn his power directly from the Vibranium meteorite above and had once battled Bast herself. That alone explained why Blaine's heart had violently constricted when he first looked at him.
Suddenly, a trace of reverence rose within Blaine's heart. Faced with such a man—someone who had lived a life of courage and legend—how could Blaine not feel awe? This kind of man was what Blaine aspired to be. He was Blaine's idol, and the path Blaine wished to follow in the future.
Besides the mummy and the Vibranium throne, there was also a real Black Panther lying beside it. However, Blaine could not tell whether it was a living beast or a construct made of Vibranium.
Perhaps it was simply due to the passage of time. If it truly was made of Vibranium, then despite its shriveled body, it was still covered in smooth fur and looked like a docile cat asleep. At first glance, it seemed like an ordinary black panther, yet a unique metallic luster could still be seen beneath its surface. Its long tail was strong and powerful, and the white markings on its body carried an invisible ferocity.
When lying down, it looked gentle and calm. But if it were to stand up, Blaine had no doubt that it could bite his neck clean off. Yes—despite wearing the Hunter suit, activating the Vajra Diamond Body, and possessing over 450 points of physique, Blaine could still tell from its eyes alone that it had such terrifying strength.
