Chapter 401 - 401. You Look Strong

"Even if I encounter Guzzlord, it can't do anything to me," Roy said calmly. "Sure, it continues to launch devastating attacks on its surroundings because of certain human factors, but so what? When it realizes there are no targets around, it eventually calms down."

Although Roy didn't know everything about rare Pokémon like Guzzlord, he had figured out what kind of creature this Ultra Beast was. It might not recognize people, and it probably didn't even have feelings. But at least when left alone, it wouldn't cause too much damage to the surrounding environment.

"If your Pokémon traveled such a long distance, and you came here today just to warn me about Guzzlord's danger, I don't think that's your only goal..."

Roy understood one thing clearly. If he could establish a relationship with this Electric-type Mythical Pokémon, he needed to turn his interest into genuine respect. After all, this powerful Electric-type Mythical Pokémon could bring him incredible recognition.

When necessary, he would maintain contact with such an Electric-type Pokémon and build a deeper relationship.

Zeraora felt slightly uneasy about Roy's somewhat concerned demeanor, sensing that this human might have ulterior motives.

"I just came to warn you. I don't want more people or more Pokémon to be harmed by Guzzlord," Zeraora said firmly.

"Hey, wait, don't leave so quickly," Roy called out. "If you're so worried about Guzzlord, why don't you come with me to see what condition that creature is in? It would be best if we could calm it down. And if it's really being controlled by people with malicious intentions, don't you think we need to resolve this matter to maintain peace in this world?"

Roy watched as sparks flickered around Zeraora's body. Just as the Mythical Pokémon was about to leave, Roy quickly spoke up, giving it a compelling reason to stay.

Hearing these words, Zeraora didn't doubt them.

"What you're saying makes sense. If we can really find out the reason behind Guzzlord's behavior, and if we can save it, that would indeed be beneficial for world peace."

They were very far from Guzzlord's location. Although they should be relatively close compared to densely populated human settlements, only very powerful Trainers could approach that area.

The power of Guzzlord definitely wasn't something an ordinary Trainer could handle. At the very least, a Trainer at the Elite level would be needed just to protect themselves from that terrifying Ultra Beast.

"Don't worry about this area being remote. Anyone who appears here must have the ability to protect themselves," Roy assured. "Whether they're humans or have other experiences, they all know this place is dangerous. Basically, no humans come here, and even if they do, they possess formidable strength."

Zeraora sighed softly. Although it didn't particularly like humans, it absolutely couldn't stand by and watch humans get hurt by that dangerous Pokémon.

It had witnessed Guzzlord devouring mountains and consuming human buildings, causing massive destruction to human civilization.

With an unchecked Guzzlord, an entire city could be destroyed within a single day, leaving not even the shadow of ruins behind.

Roy understood very well that Zeraora was a confident and powerful Pokémon.

And it was also very righteous.

This matched Roy's preferences perfectly, so no matter what, he had to seize this opportunity. Zeraora's species was incredibly rare in this world, just like Legendary Pokémon. Basically, once you found one, it would be extremely difficult to find a second.

But while Roy was still thinking about how to build a close relationship with Zeraora, the Mythical Pokémon turned its attention to Lucario, who had been trained to incredible strength. Even when Lucario was maintaining its usual calm mindset, it exuded a powerful aura.

Zeraora walked straight toward Lucario and looked at it sharply.

"You look very powerful. I wonder if you'd be willing to battle me?" Zeraora asked directly. "After all, while I'm protecting this environment and this world, I also hope to fight against stronger opponents. That way, I can gain more battle experience and become even stronger."

Lucario, who had been meditating on the spot, opened its eyes and gazed at the powerful opponent before it.

Roy stood like a spectator, watching as these two Pokémon prepared for battle. Lucario had no reason to refuse this challenge.

Roy also understood that if the two of them fought, they would be evenly matched for a short period of time.

But the final victor would definitely be Lucario. The battle experience Lucario had accumulated was certainly no less than what Zeraora had gained in the wild. Each battle Roy had put Lucario through involved opponents stronger than its previous level, with increasingly powerful adversaries.

The blue aura pervaded the environment, and Lucario's voice appeared in the minds of all Pokémon present, especially Zeraora, who had become its opponent and now stood before it.

"I accept your challenge, but don't regret it after you lose," Lucario communicated telepathically.

The attitude Lucario displayed was equally confident, matching the demeanor Zeraora had shown when it first arrived and stood before all the Pokémon. They both possessed strength that emanated from their cores. However, with this kind of self-confidence and extensive experience, their power in battle would definitely not be weak.

Just seeing Lucario's readiness to accept the challenge, Roy stood up and called out to it softly.

Roy had noticed that Lucario had put on that pair of special bracelets again, and these bracelets still had a unique light shining from them.

This was part of Lucario's training regimen. To make itself stronger, it never slacked off in its daily training and constantly sought tougher challenges.

However, when facing an opponent that was almost equal in strength, wearing such weighted equipment seemed questionable. While it could increase the training benefits Lucario received, it would also create a disadvantage, especially during battle. What kind of surprises or problems might arise from this handicap?
