Back in the middle of October, I started my second rewrite of this novel, and now it's finally done. Just like I mentioned before, I already made a lot of changes in this chapter, especially in the way Su Min and Xie Yingying interact. The original version felt really dry to me, so during my first rewrite, I added more reactions from Xie Yingying to show how deeply she was affected by Su Min's presence. But even after that, when I worked on the second rewrite, I still felt the interaction needed more depth. They don't actually do anything in this chapter, but I still wanted to enrich Xie Yingying's feelings and make the narration around her breathe a little more.
If you want to compare the original version and my first rewrite, I uploaded both to Google Drive and Terabox. You can find the links through my Carrd at https colon slash slash rikhi dot carrd dot co. The web novel version is being updated alongside the AO3 version as well.
As I mentioned in an earlier announcement, besides the six extra chapters about Su Min and Xie Yingying, I also wrote six chapters explaining the changes I made. They include bits of the original text and the reasons behind each edit. Those six explanation chapters will stay based on the first rewrite. I won't update them to match the second rewrite, since the core content is still the same. I only expanded the narration and added more detail this time. Some chapters grew from around two thousand eight hundred words to nearly four thousand, and a few even expanded by two or three thousand more. There's no way I can redo all of that for the explanation chapters.
But don't worry, the heart of the first version is still here. This second rewrite is just smoother, more detailed, and easier to read. I'm letting you know now before I forget later, and since I'm already talking about changes, I might as well mention that I added something new in this chapter (turbulent Heavenly Continent) that wasn't in version one. I feel like it's important for you to know.
Oh, and I really recommend reading extra chapters five and six, the ones after the end of the main story. The core is the same, but the way I deliver it is different, and these two chapters follow a different approach than the others. I also added a few things there. I genuinely suggest giving them a read.
