Because there was an extra person, Sasame cooked two more dishes. By the time he was finished, Shizune had also returned from the Konoha Hospital. The three women were so engrossed in discussing how to raise a child that Sasame felt he couldn't get a word in.
"Thank you for the meal," Mikoto Uchiha said, getting up and bowing after they finished eating. "I forgot to tell Sasuke I was coming out, so I can't stay any longer to accompany Tsunade-sama."
"Then you should hurry back," Tsunade said, holding her hand. "Thank you for today. You've taught me a lot."
"Tsunade-sama, what are you saying?" Mikoto Uchiha answered with a smile. "It's my pleasure."
Sasame looked at the two of them getting along so well and felt a sense of déjà vu. Yes, they were like two sisters. The only pity was that there couldn't be a closer relationship like with Ena Uzumaki and Mikoto Uchiha. Shizune was a special case.
After Tsunade walked Mikoto Uchiha to the door, she turned and returned to the living room.
"What reason did you give her?" Sasame asked curiously.
"I said I adopted her," Tsunade sighed helplessly. "There was no other way."
"If you want to go public, I'm okay with it," Sasame walked up to her, wrapped his arms around her waist, and said.
"No way," Tsunade glared at him. "What would people think of us if we did that?"
"Anyone who dares to gossip will get their tongue cut off," Sasame said, pulling her closer.
"What are you saying?" Tsunade blushed and pushed his arm away. "It's not night yet."
"I'll give you a massage," Sasame blinked. "You must be tired after a long day of work."
"Wait," Tsunade pushed him away. "I need to feed our daughter first."
Sasame immediately looked unhappy.
"You're shameless," Tsunade laughed, poking his forehead with her finger. "If you keep this up, it will affect our daughter." She usually wouldn't use the Yin Seal. After all, it was theoretically a way to overdraw her body.
After Tsunade said that, seeing his wronged expression, she leaned in and kissed him on the corner of his lips.
"Hmm."
A minute later. Tsunade took a couple of deep breaths and walked towards the room.
Sasame scratched his head. He thought for a moment and went to the kitchen. When Tsunade came out after feeding Chiharu, she saw Shizune looking exhausted. There were tear stains at the corners of her eyes, as if she had been crying.
"Don't come near me," Tsunade said with a disgusted look. "You're disgusting! Why don't you go take a bath?"
"Let's go together," Sasame ignored Tsunade's objections and carried her to the bathroom. Shizune followed, dragging her tired body.
Night.
"I'm home." Mikoto Uchiha opened the door, but Sasuke Uchiha was not in the room. She was not surprised. She walked to the backyard and saw Sasuke Uchiha practicing with his sword. After being beaten by the Third Raikage, he realized his problem. The Mangekyō Sharingan could barely keep up with the Third Raikage's movements, but he himself couldn't.
In fact, besides the Sharingan, the Uchiha clan was also unique in their Taijutsu, swordsmanship, and ninja tools. They were not bad. But this was largely dependent on the convenience provided by the Sharingan. Now that the Sharingan no longer had an absolute advantage, his other skills seemed quite ordinary, especially when facing a master like the Third Raikage.
Sasuke Uchiha was not discouraged. He felt that if he could defeat the Third Raikage, he wouldn't be far from defeating Itachi Uchiha.
"Mom," Sasuke Uchiha noticed Mikoto Uchiha and stopped his movements. "You're back?"
"Yes," Mikoto Uchiha hurried to him, took out a handkerchief, and wiped his sweat. "Did you eat?"
"Yes," Sasuke Uchiha answered. "I ate with Sister Izumi."
"Izumi?" Mikoto Uchiha was slightly startled. Although Izumi Uchiha was a ninja of the Uchiha clan, she only listened to Sasame's orders. She was rarely at home. Therefore, Mikoto Uchiha was a little surprised.
"Yes, I asked her for some advice today," Sasuke Uchiha scratched his head. "I also met a very powerful Anbu ninja."
"How powerful?" Mikoto Uchiha smiled gently.
"I couldn't beat him without using my Mangekyō Sharingan," Sasuke Uchiha frowned. "And he looked familiar."
Mikoto Uchiha was pensive. She probably guessed who it was: Shisui Uchiha. Although Sasuke Uchiha's strength was forcibly raised by his Mangekyō Sharingan, it didn't mean he was weak. His Three-Tomoe Sharingan was enough to handle most Jonin.
"Then you should learn more from him," Mikoto Uchiha said, snapping out of her thoughts.
"I will," Sasuke Uchiha nodded seriously. He had just gone through a beating, and since it was Mikoto Uchiha's suggestion, he readily accepted it. Besides, Naruto Uzumaki was learning Sage Mode at Ryūchi Cave. When he returned, the gap between them might widen even further. This was undoubtedly the best time for Sasuke Uchiha to have a good mindset.
"Don't train too late," Mikoto Uchiha said, looking at the sky. "Two hours at most, then go take a bath and sleep."
After Sasuke Uchiha agreed, she returned to the room. She looked at the white, thin kimono on the bed and thought of Sasame. When would he come over?
Mikoto Uchiha thought as she walked into the bathroom. She took off her black stockings. She never used to wear them, but Sasame liked them. After taking a bath, Mikoto Uchiha put on the new kimono. It was quite revealing, like a swimsuit. To avoid being seen by Sasuke Uchiha, she locked the door. As for Sasame, he had the Flying Thunder God Jutsu. Mikoto Uchiha wasn't worried about him. Her only concern was that he wouldn't come tonight.
She didn't know how much time had passed, but Mikoto Uchiha caught a familiar scent.
"Sasuke's outside, you know," Sasame said in a low voice.
"He's back?" Mikoto Uchiha also instinctively lowered her voice.
"Come here," Sasame pulled her and, through the crack in the door, saw Sasuke Uchiha. He was in the living room, nurturing his sword. He was allowing his lightning chakra to resonate with it to become more familiar.
"He's been like this ever since that mysterious ninja defeated him," Mikoto Uchiha's eyes showed a hint of pain. "But in his current situation, it's difficult for him to improve in a short amount of time."
"Hmm, then he'll have to go through the back door," Sasame said, wrapping his arm around her waist. "Do you want me to give him some extra tutoring?"
"Huh?" Mikoto Uchiha didn't quite understand. She covered her mouth. "Wouldn't that... be a bad idea?"
"What's so bad about it?" Sasame asked with a smile. "Are you afraid of people finding out?"
"Yes..." Mikoto Uchiha nodded.
"It's no big deal," Sasame said, stroking her hair. "I'm the Hokage. No one would dare to criticize it."
"Close the door..." Mikoto Uchiha took a deep breath. Her curvy body moved with it. "So we don't disturb Sasuke."
"Just don't make a sound," Sasame grinned. "Besides, I need to collect my tutoring fee."
Mikoto Uchiha looked a little wronged but had no choice.
The sound of thunder gradually subsided. Sasuke Uchiha exhaled, feeling even closer to his sword. After all, it was forged from one of the Seven Ninja Swords of the Mist, the Lightning Sword: Kiba. Even if it wasn't a divine weapon, it was a rare one. Getting to know it better would definitely allow him to unleash more power. Sasuke Uchiha put away his sword and instinctively turned to look at Mikoto Uchiha's room. He thought he had heard something.
"Mom, are you asleep?" Sasuke Uchiha thought for a moment and asked. His voice was not loud. Since there was no answer, he thought she must be asleep. Although he couldn't understand why she would go to bed so early tonight. Sasuke Uchiha got up and walked to the bathroom. The sound of running water filled the quiet night.
Mikoto Uchiha stared blankly at the ceiling. Her tense body relaxed. The moonlight rose into the sky. The hardworking person still had not rested.
A new day. The Hokage's Office. Sasame yawned.
"Didn't you sleep well last night?" Kurenai Yuhi asked with concern when she noticed.
"Not really," Sasame smiled.
"I feel like that smile of yours is a little..." Kurenai Yuhi trailed off, not saying the word "lewd."
"A little what?" Sasame cocked his head.
"Nothing," Kurenai Yuhi saw him return to his handsome, usual smile and quickly waved her hands.
"Are these the stockings I bought for you?" Sasame didn't ask further. His eyes fell on her exposed legs.
"Yes," Kurenai Yuhi nodded, feeling a little shy. Sasame had bought her garter stockings, which she was not used to.
"Not bad," Sasame nodded in satisfaction. Kurenai Yuhi saw his intense gaze and felt like he was about to touch her. She nervously changed the subject. "There's an encrypted file."
Encrypted meant it could only be viewed by the Hokage. Sasame raised an eyebrow. He had barely used encryption since he took office. He hadn't hidden anything from Kurenai Yuhi, except for the Akatsuki.
Speaking of which, after being a member for so long, he should have a mission by now. What could it be?Sasame had been waiting for news from the Akatsuki, but since he was the Hokage, it was inconvenient to stay at the Sunny Go Company. He had Ena Uzumaki receive the messages and then relay them to Konoha Village. As for Nagato's projection jutsu, it was generally used for Akatsuki meetings. He didn't use it often.
Sasame opened the file. It was a bounty mission. The target was Chiriku of the Fire Temple. He was a former member of the Twelve Guardian Ninja, and he was quite strong. His bounty on the black market was thirty million ryo. In the original story, he died at the hands of Kakuzu and Hidan. It was worth mentioning that Asuma Sarutobi died trying to save him, making Kurenai Yuhi a widow. Now, the timeline had been moved up. But when he thought about it, with Kakuzu's personality, Chiriku was bound to die sooner or later.
Sasame looked at Kurenai Yuhi. She was looking at him with her head down. Their eyes met.
"What... what's wrong?" Kurenai Yuhi felt his gaze was strange and asked instinctively.
"How's Asuma Sarutobi doing?" Sasame asked with a smile. "I remember you two are close."
Kurenai Yuhi was slightly startled, a little surprised by the sudden question. She looked at Sasame and suddenly her lips curved. Was he jealous?
"We're not close," Kurenai Yuhi said seriously. "If you want to know how he's doing, you can ask the Anbu."
"I was just asking casually," Sasame saw her expression and laughed. "Sister Kurenai, go get Sasuke for me."
Kurenai Yuhi glared at him. The sudden hint of a mature woman's charm was captivating. She turned and left. Not long after, Sasuke Uchiha entered the Hokage's Office.
"Sensei," he greeted. "What do you need me for?"
"Your strength is extraordinary now. You're already at a Jonin level," Sasame picked up a file. "Your two teammates are busy. Do you have the guts to go on a high-difficulty mission alone?"
"Yes!" Sasuke Uchiha said without hesitation. He was not nervous. On the contrary, he was a little excited.
"It's an S-rank mission," Sasame said casually. "Protect the Fire Temple's head priest, Chiriku."
"Yes!" Sasuke Uchiha took the file, glanced at it, and said, "I'll leave right now."
"Go ahead," Sasame didn't stop him. Sasuke Uchiha didn't have the Flying Thunder God Jutsu, so he would need at least two days. There was plenty of time. As for Chiriku, he could just send a letter. With Konoha Village's prestige, he would naturally believe that he was about to be attacked.
"Is he going to be okay alone?" Kurenai Yuhi asked after Sasuke Uchiha left. "Should we send an Anbu ninja to protect him?"
"No need," Sasame said with a smile. "Sister Kurenai, don't underestimate him. You might not even be able to beat him." Perhaps the "might" could even be removed. Kurenai Yuhi was, for all intents and purposes, Konoha Village's number one genjutsu ninja. That's because the Uchiha clan were not pure genjutsu users. They used Fire Style more often. In the original story, Kurenai Yuhi once fought Itachi Uchiha and lost badly.
"It seems my position as a secretary is becoming more and more useless," Kurenai Yuhi said with emotion. "I can't even compare to a child."
"What are you saying?" Sasame retorted. "Sister Kurenai is very capable."
"Then thank you for the compliment, Hokage-sama," Kurenai Yuhi smiled. She was clearly pleased. For her, as long as she was useful to Sasame, her position as a secretary would be secure for a long time.
"I have to go out," Sasame stood up, reached out, and rubbed her black stockings. "I'll leave things in Konoha to you for the next two days." He then used the Flying Thunder God Jutsu and disappeared.
Kurenai Yuhi's body trembled. She wanted to say something, but it was too late. Her face was flushed, and she tugged at her stockings, muttering, "I don't understand what's so great about this."
The Land of Rice Fields.
Kakuzu, who was reading a book, suddenly narrowed his eyes. "Who's there?"
"It's me," Sasame slowly walked over. In the original story, Kakuzu had two major hobbies: reading and making money.
"I need to make something clear," Kakuzu put away his book. "I'm taking Chiriku's head."
"No problem," Sasame gave a wealthy smile. "Money is just a number to me anyway."
"..." Kakuzu turned and walked away.
