While the Sky Piercers were busily shooting at the Sky Citadel, the Elder Mages, alongside several hundred mages, created several layers of mana barriers.
On the ground, the Bulwark Golems were closing in, while the Fenrirs, as well as the heavy artillery, bombarded them.
Shells struck the barrier surrounding the leading Bulwark Golem. Explosions spread across its surface, sending ripples of light over the enormous construct's chest and shoulders.
The golem continued walking through the smoke. Another volley concentrated on the barrier before its right knee.
The impacts merged into a brilliant flare, briefly obscuring the leg behind it. As the smoke cleared, the barrier shimmered into view again.
The enormous foot descended, crushing the earth into a deep depression while the artillery crews hurried to reload.
While the Bulwark Golem continued its advance, smoke suddenly started appearing around the Bulwark Golem.
