Chapter 24.
"You sure this is the move?" An unknown voice asked, in a pitch black room.
"Hm? What do you mean?" Another voice, sounding much older.
"Gathering those... kids, at that one place and sending 'Him' of all people on that mission." the previous voice clarified.
"Ah... That's what you mean." The voice realized. "Yes, it's going exactly as planned."
"That crow knows your exact plans."
"He does, but he won't be able to tell anybody about it, otherwise he'll die. Not like he has long to live anyways."
"But-"
"No buts, stop worrying, everything is going according to plan. We need the Three Factions to host the conference they've been planning, but because of the Great war, they're still hesitating. We need that crow to make some noise, so that the brats from the Three Factions, work together as a team to show the old generation that perhaps the peace between them is possible."
"If they do make peace, won't it be harder for us to get rid of them?"
"It'll be far easier and quicker, the top dogs of all three factions will be gathered in one place. It's obviously better to eliminate them in one swoop, rather than target them one by one. That crow knows this, no doubt. But he's placing all his bets... on his adopted son, The Governor, the Seraphim and the Satans." The voice paused, and a terrifying smile crawled up on his face.
"Wolf..." The voice said,
"Ah yes, and you'll have your long-awaited rematch with your... beloved Wolf."
"He's not my beloved!"
"...You spent the entire time you've been here, training, undergoing experiments, and doing anything to gain power... all because of that one... boy. If that isn't love, I don't know what is." The owner of that voice turned back to him.
"...What's with your obsession with him? I never really bothered to ask before." The voice asked.
"He's... the person I hate the most, and also the one I love the most."
"I see... how romantic." a smirk crawled up on the shadowy figure's face.
"I'm going. It's time for the next procedure." The younger voice said.
And left the room.
Then the owner of that voice began chuckling, which evolved into psychopathic laughter.
"Wait for me, you pigeons, crows and bats."
"I'll get rid of all of you soon... for no particular reason."

It was the next day, Ryu and Yuto were nowhere to be seen in school.
After school Issei called up Saji, Koneko and met the two in a cafe of sorts.
"I'm telling you guys... something is definitely up with those two." Issei said, leaning back into the chair.
"Yeah probably, Ryu doesn't seem like the type to disappear suddenly." Saji spoke rubbing his chin, "Anything new about him? Maybe Akeno knows? Those two are pretty close right?" Saji asked.
"Already tried it, she doesn't know either." Koneko answered. "She said that Yuto called Ryu and he went out of the house, she knew nothing else."
"It's strange, something is definitely up with those two." Issei muttered, "...More specifically, something's up with Yuto and somehow Ryu is also involved." Issei said.
"It... definitely has something to do with those two exorcists." Koneko spoke, "You saw how Yuto was acting, didn't you?" Koneko asked Issei.
"Yeah... now that you mention it, he was acting really aggressive." Issei said. "Hmm... I've an idea."
"Oh boy, this will be good..." Koneko muttered.
"Let's go and get the information out of those exorcists, one of them is my childhood friend maybe I can get her to tell me." Issei said with a smirk.
"...That's surprisingly good." Koneko said and crossed her arms. "But you're forgetting something, we aren't on good terms with them. If we're caught sneaking around with exorcists, it will cause trouble for Rias."
"...That's true..." Issei sighed dragging his hand down his face. "Well I'm out of ideas."
"We could still do it." Koneko suddenly spoke.
"But didn't you say-" Issei began.
"I said 'If' we're caught." Koneko interrupted him.
Saji looked at the two of them for a second, contemplating whether he should help them or not.
They were friends, him Ryu and Issei sure. But would he risk getting spanked by Sona for the two?
It was a tough choice.
"Ah whatever, I'm in." Saji shrugged.
"Huh? Of course you are, who said you had a choice?" Issei raised an eyebrow at him.
Saji was left speechless.
Issei got up and stretched, "Let's meet at that abandoned church, they're exorcists where else would they be?"
"I'm glad to see your brain's somehow working." Koneko got up and complimented him with a smile.
"It always worked, I just didn't need to use it." Issei said with a smirk.
"Whatever you say..." Koneko said with a shrug.
"Alright then, I'll be at the church tonight." Saji spoke.
The three of them then dispersed.

Night time.

Koneko Issei and Saji were gathered at the entrance of the church.
"...There's no going back from this..." Saji muttered, "I'm so getting spanked."
"...Sona definitely has a kink. She's projecting." Issei whispered to Koneko who nodded, "I agree."
"Issei you and Ryu better take me out to eat after this, I'm risking my ass to help you." Saji turned and pointed at Issei.
"Hey, I want free food too." Koneko said.
"Me too, Ryu's definitely gonna treat us." Issei said with a smirk.
"Enough talk, let's go in." Koneko said pushing open the door and going in.
Koneko walked forward and pushed the door open, and they all went in.
"This church gives me the creeps..." Saji muttered looking around.
"No kidding, I really don't like coming here. Bad memories." Issei also said, a frown forming on his face when he remembered it.
"Don't chicken out now." Koneko said to them both, going first.
They walked inside, and went into another room.
And there they were, Ryu lying on a chair, hands behind his head.
Yuto was also there, talking to the exorcists about something.
The two exorcists noticed them first since they were in their line of sight, and the blue-haired one, Xenovia pointed their way and Kiba turned around as well and his eyes widened when he saw them.
Ryu also sat up on the chair and looked their way.
"Didn't know you called for reinforcements." Xenovia spoke.
"I didn't." Yuto said then turned to Ryu. "Did you?"
"Nope." Ryu also denied it.
"Hey Yuto, you've been ditching school for a while, had to check in on you."
Issei came up to him and stood right in front of him.
"Anyways, we want in on this as well."
"No, it's too dangerous for you guys, go back." Kiba denied it.
"Wasn't really asking for permission, I'm telling you that we want in on it, whether you like it or not."
"...Why?" Kiba asked, after a slight pause.
"Despite being an annoying and popular pretty boy... you're still a friend, and I don't leave my friends at their lowest."
"Well said." Koneko praised Issei, "We're here to help, Yuto. Rias doesn't know by the way."
"You guys..." Kiba muttered, then a smile graced his features while his eyes teared up a bit. "...Thank you so much, I couldn't have asked for better friends."
Saji then stepped forward, "Don't get too emotional, the help isn't free." he said, then turned to Ryu. "Ryu you're treating us, and I mean Koneko me and Issei to a meal."
Ryu chuckled, "Sure thing, I'll take you out 3 on a date."
"Nice! I'm in." Saji said.
"Xenovia, explain the plan to the newcomers here again please." Ryu said to her.
"...We split in two groups, one goes west of town one goes east. Enough said." Xenovia said.
"For sure, I'll be with my friends if you don't mind. I don't really like exorcists." Ryu said getting up and stretching.
"The feelings mutual." Xenovia spoke.
"Alrighty! We'll take west, you guys take east."
"If you find anything call Irina's phone, we'll be there shortly."
With those words said, the two groups split apart, each going to their designated side.
"Soo... any ideas on where to look?" Ryu questioned.
"...Places with no people, that's where we go." Kiba spoke.
"Why? Wouldn't they hide in places where there ARE people? Clever people would normally do that." Saji questioned.
"...They stole Excalibur fragments, I wouldn't call these people 'clever'." Kiba answered.
"Fair enough."
"Oh, by the way." Ryu started, then rummaged in his pocket.
"Here, Issei." He took out his phone and gave it to Issei.
"Why're you giving this to me?" Issei asked.
"If shit hits the fan, you're gonna call Irina."
"Ah. Right, will do."
The group walked around the town as well, just in case.
After that, they went to an abandoned building that was in the forest.
To be exact, it was the building where they once hunted a stray devil.
"Y'know, I didn't really pay attention to it before, but there's a lot of abandoned buildings in Kuoh." Ryu said.
"...Now that you mention it, yeah." Issei rubbed his chin.
"Probably for plot convenience." Koneko voiced her thoughts.
"Good point."
"So now wha-" Ryu began to say but he was interrupted.
"YOOOO!!!! IT'S MY FAVOURITE GROUP OF VERMIN!" A voice came from the roof of the building.
Everyone looked up in surprise.
"SURPRISE! IT'S YOUR FAVOURITE SILVER-HAIRED MENACE, BADASS, HANDSOME EXORCIST FREED!"
Freed stood there with a crazed smile stretched across his face while waving around a sword.
"Handsome and badass are debatable, menace sure." Ryu said.
"That's the Excalibur fragment!" Kiba raised his voice, alerting everyone.
"SURE IS! IT'S EXCALIBUR RAPIDLY!" Freed said then disappeared from where he stood.
He then appeared directly in front of Kiba who reacted quickly and summoned a sword.
Freed swung his Excalibur downwards, Kiba met it with his own blade he created from his sacred gear 'Sword Birth'.
"YOU'RE PRETTY FAST!" Freed spoke, then he applied more pressure to his sword.
"KIBA!" Issei yelled out, summoning his Sacred Gear as well.
[BOOST!] he boosted his power.
Kiba took a knee and let out a grunt, he was loosing in the battle of strength.
"Need a hand?" Ryu's voice came from behind Yuto.
He threw a fist loaded with all his Strength, intending to finish this fight with just one blow.
But Freed managed to dash away at the last second, Ryu's fist struck the ground below.
*BOOM*
The sound was deafening, where he struck there was now a large crater.
Freed let out a whistle. "What Strength! Too bad..." He then dashed forward appearing in front of Ryu, fully intending to bisect him in two.
"IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT MUCH IF YOU CAN'T HIT ME!" Freed shouted, he swung his sword horizontally.
*CLANG*
It met Yuto's sword, instead of Ryu's flesh.
Ryu didn't waste time, he swiftly reached out and tried grabbing Freed's arm, but due to the difference in speed, Freed evaded him rather easily.
"Caught you." Ryu said with a smirk, then swung again.
*CRACK* His giant-sized fist hit Freed directly in the face, he was thrown back like a doll.
He smashed into the wall of the building and slumped down onto the ground.
"That should do it." Ryu said, waving his hand.
"Not so fast!" Freed's voice came again, he forced his body to stand once more.
His nose was shattered and blood was flowing from it freely.
He looked right at them, and once more he rushed forward.
Ryu's body tensed immediately, expecting Freed to target him.
But Freed simply rushed past both him and Yuto, his target was the three standing behind them.
"Let's take care of the audience!" Freed spoke, dashing towards Issei first.
Freed Raised his sword up, and swung it downwards with terrifying speed and force.
"GOT Y-" He was hit right in the solar plexus by Issei's left arm.
Issei hadn't been idle, he was boosting his power as the fight went on and on.
Right now, he was at his max, and when Issei boosted to the maximum, he was able to damage and maybe even strike faster than Ryu.
"Nah, I don't think you did." Issei said, pushing Freed back again.
"Nice punch Issei." Saji said, a gauntlet appearing on his arm as well, he swung his arm towards Freed, and a line attached itself to his leg.
This was Saji's sacred gear, which was a part of a 'Series' specifically, Vritra's series.
"Huh?" Freed was confused, and tried to hack away at it, although it was useless.
"What the heck is this?!" Freed got more frustrated as he swung though, he did notice that he seemed to be getting weaker.
"You bastard... YOU'RE STEALING MY POWER!" He realized.
Saji stuck out his tongue, "Guilty as charged." He said.
And then, from inside the building a voice came.
"Hmm... what an interesting bunch you are." The voice seemed amused, and... mature.
The man stepped into the light, he was an old man with glasses, and wearing a priest's robes.
"Abnormal Strength, Boosted Gear, Absorption Line... and perhaps... Sword Birth?" He questioned that last bit.
Upon seeing the man, Kiba's eyes widened then sharpened into a terrifying glare.
"VALPER GALILEI!" He screamed out his name.
"That is indeed me."
Ryu looked at him for a while, the man's face was somewhat familiar to him as well.
Then he remembered it.
"Ah... so you're Valper." Ryu said, his presence completely changed.
"My, I didn't know I was so well known... but given my greatness as a scientist, I guess it's expected." A proud smile crawled up the mans face.
"Freed, use the 'Elements' to power up that sword." He spoke to the exorcist that was bound with Saji's sacred gear.
"Oh? The 'Elements' huh?" Freed grinned and then the holy sword in his hands began to light up, then he swung it at the line.
It shattered into pieces.
"Exactly like that, good job." Valper praised him with a clap of his hands.
"Now... where were we?" Freed said, his eyes darting towards the devils and Ryu.
His gaze stopped on Kiba, and he charged at him.
Kiba was ready to block the attack, but he was saved.
Another Excalibur met the sword's trajectory, and stopped it's advance.
Her blue hair ruffled in the wind, and the large sword in her hands was undoubtedly, Excalibur Destruction.
"XENOVIA!" Issei was surprised that she got there so quickly.
"Hey everyone!" Another voice came from behind the group,
They turned and were met with the happy-go-lucky exorcist, Irina Shidou who was waving her hand at them.
"Made it in time." She spoke, before going low and trying to take out Freed's legs from beneath, though she was unsuccessful in that endeavor.
"Valper Galilei, Freed Sellezen. I'll be putting you two down, like the rabid dogs you are." She said with a frown.
Valper just smirked, and shook his head.
"It seems... you're out of luck, that man... is here." Valper spoke, and right on time, a separate barrier was created enveloping everyone.
"It seems... you're having some trouble, Valper." A mysterious voice came from above.
Everyone looked up.
Floating just above them, was a fallen angel. Not just any fallen angel, but one with 5 pairs of wings.
His skin was pale like a corpse, eyes were red, and he had elongated ears like those of an elf from a fantasy book.
He wore black robes, his wings were pitch black and his hair was also quite long, going down to his back.
And there was a large terrifying smile, stretched across his face.
"Ah, just in time boss!" Freed spoke, "Look here! Look here! There are 2 more Excalibur fragments right on our doorstep!" He motioned to the two exorcists.
Everyone there felt it, this person wasn't your average Stray, the energy and 'Malice' coming off of him was a terrifying sight to behold.
"...Partner, this isn't an opponent we can take on. He is a man who has fought God, and the original Lucifer... Kokabiel, The Fallen Star." Ddraig's voice came from Issei's left hand.
Everyone clear heard the name, and it sent chills down their spine, and they froze up on the spot.
But Ryu stepped forward, looking directly at the fallen angel.
"...What the heck are you doing? Dad?" He questioned, his eyes narrowing.
Kokabiel's smile only grew wider in response.
"Ah, my precious son, you're here too."
