Chapter 21 - CHAPTER 20: THAT MAN IS LOADED

Georgia started feeling sorry for Havila, but he still thought she had moved on too quickly, which hurt his ego. He probed further by asking, "How is she living now? She doesn't have any money. Did she change and start depending on her husband now that she is married?" Georgina looked at her brother weirdly and said, "That man is loaded, yes, but not as Havila. he has family wealth, whereas Havila has personal wealth, so she is still better."

On hearing her answer, Georgia inquired further, "What do you mean loaded? Last time I checked, she doesn't have a stable job; in fact, I even asked one of my friends to offer her an internship opportunity at their company." Shedding tears due to laughing so hard, she asked, " Which company? You want her to work as an intern in her own company? Putting that aside, about her money, don't tell me you didn't know she works for the state."

She coughed lightly and continued, "She is the one who solved our company's case. That is why we did not go bankrupt. Even the Stans had the same problem, but she dealt with them silently without asking anything in return. I don't know if you remember the chief of police's daughter; she's your girlfriend's friend. I think Havi calls her 'Miss Security'. She solved the murder case of her grandfather because they had made a deal. Now the criminals are all in prison."

"This only means that since you hurt her, her matters cannot affect her sense of justice. And I'm sure even if you had a case that required her presence, she would do it without asking questions. I can't tell you everything about her; those are her secrets, and I have no right to disclose them. Ask her yourself if you want to know. You lost big this time, bro. How I wish you paid a little attention to her."

She started unbuttoning her shirt as she said, " Just don't make the mistake of provoking her, you can't afford the consequences. I know for sure she will also not give you and your girlfriend a difficult time." Clarinda, who was outside, heard that statement and shook all over. She saved the recording and went downstairs. She was in turmoil; she could not decide what to do in case Havila decided to take revenge against them. She had to tell her parents everything.

Georgia clenched his fists, feeling betrayed by Havila. He asked, "Just how many more things was she hiding from me? Did she not trust me that much? All these years, I did nothing wrong to her apart from being with her sister." Georgina also became angry and said, " Don't throw blind accusations here. She never hid anything from you; you were too busy appeasing Clarinda that you forgot about her. She was your girlfriend for 7 years, for God's sake, at least you could have told her the truth."

She exhaled and inhaled to calm herself down, then she continued, "She wouldn't have wasted so much time on you and energy on our family. She would have given you her blessings even if it hurt, but you had to do it in the cruelest way possible. Now, she doesn't even talk about you like she used to; you are a stranger to her now. I want to take a shower, get out of my room."

Georgia got out of the room dejectedly and went back downstairs. He found Clarinda watching a movie, so he went and cuddled her to hid bosom and watched with her silently. Clarinda noticed his red eyes and frowned. Did he just cry for Havila? No way! He only loves me; maybe he is worried that Havila might hurt me, so he is sad. She probed, pretending not to know what just happened, "Babe, what's wrong?" He wiped his face and replied, "Nothing, why do you ask?"

Clarinda pretended to care and asked, "Where's sister in law? Is she coming to have dinner with us?" He shook his head and said, "She said she is tired and wants to rest for a few hours, let's have our dinner first and retire to bed early." Clarinda cupped his cheeks and said, "No, I have to go back today, my dad will be traveling tomorrow, and I promised to send him to the airport. I am sorry, I cannot have dinner with you today."

Georgia was also mentally tired about the things he heard today, so he didn't insist. He released her and gave her a quick peck on the cheek and said, "Let me send you back then." Clarinda denied the kind offer immediately as she was worried Georgia would notice her unease and probe her. She said, "No, no, I already called my chauffeur, he's waiting downstairs for me. Just have your dinner and retire to bed early; we will talk tomorrow." She then kissed him and went out hurriedly.

Georgia followed her to the door, and he almost couldn't keep up with her pace. He really wanted to know the reason she was in a hurry to leave, as if she was being chased. He thought of several possibilities but decided not to doubt her. He made sure she boarded her car safely before he went back and slouched on the couch. He heaved a heavy sigh and closed his eyes. His mind was full of countless questions. He couldn't even remember how he turned to be such a monster.

He kept thinking about how he got together with Havila in the first place. It has been such a long time that he has even forgotten he was acting. That was his first mistake; he also wanted to help her heal from depression from losing her handsome stranger. How he wished he had told her the truth after she recovered. He recalled everything that happened and felt that there might be a bigger conspiracy compared to what he knew.

Their family was close to Havila's, so when Clarinda and her mom requested his help to help Havila, he did not even give it a second thought before he agreed. He assumed it would strengthen their relationship as he already had eyes for Clarinda and was courting her. He was happy to help his future in-laws. If he knew it would cause so much chaos seven years later, he would have politely declined. His indecisiveness has now hurt Havila, strained his relationship with his twin sister, and most of all, left him confused because he recently realized he had started falling for Havila.
