Rowan helped Elias sit up as he wiped down his forehead with the sleeve of his dress. Elias was still trembling, his eyes darting around the room as tears streamed down his face.
"Baby," Rowan cupped his cheeks.
"I saw her," Elias choked as he leaned further into his man's touch. "I saw my mother… oh my, she is beautiful. She's got my eyes, but when she smiles… it's all Kallin," he half-chuckled.
Rowan sat down and held him close.
"She spoke to me. It felt so real… she is," Elias stammered, every word breaking his heart. All his life he had called another woman mother. He had begged for love, he had been tormented, and the first time he gets to see his mother is in a vision. Her gentleness, her touch… oh, how she would have been loved if death and the heart of man had not snatched her away from them.
Rowan turned to the door, and not only Mason but also Cyrus entered. They rushed toward the couple.
"Greetings, my king. Greetings, Consort," the cousins greeted.
