Chapter 28 - dimensional being

The morning sunlight slipped through the cracks of the apartment window, striking Steve's face as he was still half asleep. He stretched slowly, spreading his arms wide on the incredibly soft mattress.

"Ahhh... hmm, this room is pretty nice," Steve muttered while rubbing his eyes. The facilities from Kregk and The Great Hunter guild were definitely no joke.

His stomach beginning to rumble reminded him of one important thing: breakfast. Steve started his morning with the intention of taking a walk around the city while looking for food. He straightened his clothes, left the room, entered the elevator, and pressed the ground floor button.

Upon reaching the bottom, the elevator doors opened. Steve stepped outside the area of The Great Hunter building. The morning air was very cool, refreshing his lungs after having to breathe the heavy air and thick miasma in Zone Zero all day yesterday.

"Hahh... it feels so peaceful," Steve muttered while stretching his neck and arm muscles.

Outside the gates, the city view immediately welcomed him. The streets were already getting crowded with modern vehicles and Hunters of various ranks passing by to start their activities. The skyscrapers decorated with giant hologram screens made the city look very alive.

Unknown: (It's rare for you to enjoy walking amidst this crowd of weak humans.)

Steve: (It's different now! In the past, maybe.)

After a leisurely walk for a few blocks, Steve found a fairly busy open-air food stall and ordered a large portion. The aroma of roasted meat and spices instantly made his stomach rumble even more.

Just as the waiter placed a plate full of hot food in front of him, and Steve held his fork for the first bite...

"Yum yum yum, this food is so delicious!" Steve said happily.

After finishing his meal at the restaurant, Steve continued his walk in the city square.

However,

Suddenly, all the advertisement hologram screens on the city's skyscrapers turned off simultaneously.

The street atmosphere, previously noisy with chatter and vehicle sounds, suddenly fell silent. Everyone, including Steve, looked up. A second later, the blue sky turned a glowing red, displaying an emergency warning that made the entire city hold its breath.

....

Previously, a golden light darted through the space-time that was beginning to bend.

There, a figure ran at a speed that tore through logic, leaving a trail of energy that burned reality behind him. However, he was not alone. Over his shoulder, darkness began to creep a dimensional rift that kept growing larger, as if something was trying to break through the walls of the world.

"What is actually happening in this dimension?" the runner thought as he saw the space around him starting to shatter like glass struck by a sledgehammer.

In front of him, a portal suddenly appeared; the man quickly unleashed all his speed, "Arghh!" Woshh!

He teleported to a research facility, and a staff member there asked loudly, "What's going on?!"

"Our dimension is under attack!"

"What?!"

...

In the peaceful city, the atmosphere turned terrifying in an instant. Steve and the people around him looked up with pale faces. The calm blue sky was now split open, replaced by clumps of pitch-black clouds and blazing flashes of red light.

"What is that?!" Steve was shocked amidst the crowd that was starting to panic.

A giant black hole rift opened, and from there, something far greater than just a natural disaster began to emerge.

The world felt like it was shaking violently. From the shattered dimensional gap, an entity appeared wearing intimidating silver armor and a red cape fluttering in the cosmic wind. Its presence was so suffocating, as if all the oxygen in the city had been sucked out.

"Lower dimension creatures! You have crossed the line!!!" the voice echoed, not in their ears, but directly inside the minds of everyone who heard it.

The mysterious figure had arrived. "Yog, destroy this world." Behind it, red energy tentacles thrust outward, ready to tear apart whatever was left of this reality.

The tentacles destroyed, annihilated, and killed everything beneath them.

Steve used his speed to save people as much as he could.

Steve stared at the destruction descending upon the earth. "What should we do?" he whispered.

"Polypus!" No Name said in annoyance on his throne.

"The current me cannot defeat it, this time let me control your body, Steve!"

Amidst the despair, a violet-colored energy dome appeared, blocking all the tentacle attacks.

"Void." From below, an empty energy of annihilation pierced through and eradicated all the tentacles blocking its path.

However, right before hitting that strange entity, it easily cleaved through Shiro's attack using a giant sword that emitted a red aura.

The split energy slowly fell and eventually hit the protective dome.

Darr!!! But fortunately, the barrier was still strong even though it was distorted.

"Well, well, well..." (Hunter No. 1 Shiro) "So easy to destroy my strongest technique, huh!" Shiro said in frustration, grinding his teeth.

"What... Have you become weak... Shiro!" (Hunter No. 2 Gampler) while sustaining his magic circle to keep the dome intact.

From behind, another hunter appeared the one who was running through space and time earlier.

"What exactly is that creature?" (Hunter No. 3 Irrelevant).

The top three hunters in the world step forward to defeat the enemy from the upper dimension. Do you think they can do it?
