The driver started the car, navigating through the city streets, while the weight of everything she carried pressed on her chest.
Shortly after, Selina heard her phone vibrating in her palm. She lowered her gaze to the lit screen and saw the caller: Uncle William.
She swiped to answer, placing it on low speaker — a confidential conversation between the two of them.
"Selina, your project took the lead just like you predicted," William reported, excitement colouring his voice. "No suspicion at all that it came from you because of how magnificent and strategic the idea was."
Selina's lips twitched into a small smile. "I knew they would."
